本発明は、乗用車等の車両におけるシートに係り、とくに、シートサイド部のアームレストの改良に関するものである。

【従来の技術】
この種のシートでは、たとえば特に、フロントシート（運転席もしくは助手席等であってもよい）あるいはセカンドシートにおいて、図７のようにシートクッション１とこのシートクッション１にリクライニング式に結合するシートバック２を有しており、このような構成のシートが座席ごとに配置される。また、シートバック２の上部にはヘッドレスト３が装着される。

従来のシートの標準的仕様は、図７の例のようにシートクッション１、シートバック２およびヘッドレスト３からなる。この場合さらに、シートサイド部にはアームレスト４が回動可能に支持されたものがある。

【発明が解決しようとする課題】
たとえば、運転席および助手席の間にコンソールボックスを設け、適宜物入れ等として使用されるものはあるが、特にシートサイド部にアームレスト以外の機能を持つものは知られていない。一方、そのようなアームレスト以外の機能を持つことで利便性を高めることができ、それに対する要望も次第に高くなりつつある。

本発明は以上の点に鑑み、利便性あるいは使用性に優れた自動車用シートを提供することを目的とする。

【課題を解決するための手段】
上記目的を達成するため、本発明は、シートサイド部にアームレストユニットを備えた自動車用シートであって、アームレストユニットは、アームレスト本体と、このアームレスト本体に着脱可能な複数種類のアタッチメントとを含み、上記アームレスト本体は、適度な間隔をあけて連結されそれぞれがグリップ部を有する左右一対のフレームと、該左右一対のフレームの底面側相互間に張架したネットとを備え、シートサイド部にヒンジを介して水平状態から垂直状態まで回動可能に支持されており、アームレスト本体が水平状態では、アームレスト機能を持つと共に、左右一対のフレーム間に複数種類のアタッチメントを選択的に装着でき、複数種類のアタッチメントを装着しない場合にはネットを底とした籠として使用でき、一方、アームレスト本体が垂直状態では、グリップ部がリア席用アシストグリップとして機能することを特徴とする。

【発明の実施の形態】
以下、図面に基づき、従来例と実質的に同一または対応する部材には同一符号を用いて、本発明の好適な実施の形態を説明する。
図１は、本発明の実施形態における自動車用シートを示している。この実施形態において、シートはたとえばフロントシート（運転席もしくは助手席等）であってもよく、図１のようにシートクッション１とこのシートクッション１にリクライニング式に結合するシートバック２を有する。また、シートバック２の上部にはヘッドレスト３が着脱可能に装着され、このような基本構成は実質的に従来例と同様である。

本発明では、図１に示されるようにシートサイド部に多機能アームレストユニット１０が回動可能に支持される。そして、後述するようにアームレストユニット１０の回動位置またはアタッチメントにより複数の機能を持つように構成されている。

アームレストユニット１０は、アームレスト本体１１とこのアームレスト本体１１に着脱可能に装着される複数種類のアタッチメントを含む。また、アームレスト本体１１は、それぞれがグリップ部１２ａを有する左右一対のフレーム１２Ａ，１２Ｂが並設されてなり、一方のフレーム１２Ａがシートサイド部に回動可能に支持される。この場合、フレーム１２Ａはその基部にて、ヒンジを構成するボルト１３およびワッシャ１４によりシートサイド部に支持される。

各フレーム１２Ａ，１２Ｂは、プラスチック製等であってよく、たとえば図示例のように木の葉状もしくは笹の葉状等の外形形状を有する。グリップ部１２ａは、たとえばゴム製シート片が添着されたものでよく、適度な湾曲カーブを描いているのが好ましい。一対のフレーム１２Ａ，１２Ｂは左右に適度な間隔をあけて連結しており、グリップ部１２ａとは反対側に、すなわち水平状態とした使用時に底面側となる位置でネット１５が張架されている。

アームレスト本体１１は上記ヒンジ（ボルト１３およびワッシャ１４）を介して回動可能に支持されるが、この場合、第１の回動位置でほぼ水平に配置され、第２の回動位置で図１のようにシートバック２の後側へ僅かに張り出すようにほぼ垂直に配置される。なお、アームレスト本体１１は、これらの回動位置でストッパ（図示せず）により固定される。

上記構成においてアームレストユニット１０は、図２に示されるように第１の回動位置で本来のアームレスト機能を持つ。この場合、アームレスト本体１１は図示のようにほぼ水平配置され、グリップ部１２ａ上に腕を置くことができる。また、このとき同時にグリップ部１２ａとは反対側（底面側）に張架されたネット１５により、アームレスト本体１１全体として籠状に構成される。これにより、籠を物入れ等として使用することができる。

さらに、アタッチメントを交換あるいは装着することで、別の機能を持つことができる。この場合、たとえば図４のように既に装着されている箱もしくはトレー１６の中に、あるいはネット１５により構成される籠の中に適宜のクッション材１７を装填することで、柔軟性に富んだ柔らかい触感の、幅広のアームレストを構成することができる。また、図５のようにトレー１６を利用して、また別のアタッチメントを装着することによりカップホルダ１８の機能を持たせることができる。

さらに、第２の回動位置では、リヤ席用アシストグリップ機能を持つことができる。この場合、たとえば図６のように上述した各種のアタッチメントを取り外し、アームレスト本体１１をほぼ垂直状態となる第２の回動位置まで回動する。そして、リヤ席の乗員は、この回動位置に固定されたグリップ部１２ａを握ることができ、これによりリヤ席用アシストグリップとして安全性を確保することができる。

上記のように本発明を実施形態に基づき説明したが、本発明はこの実施形態にのみ限定されるものでなく、本発明の範囲内で適宜変更可能である。
たとえば、アームレスト本体１１に装着すべきアタッチメントとしては、たとえば上記実施形態の場合の他に適宜のボックス機能を有するものであってもよく、上記実施形態と同様な作用効果を得ることができる。

【発明の効果】
以上説明したように本発明によれば、この種のシートにおいて複数種類のアタッチメントを選択的に装着使用することができ、アームレスト機能に加えて物入れ等として収納スペースを利用することができ利便性に優れている。これらのアタッチメントは着脱可能であるから、必要に応じて使用すればよく適正なシート機能を発揮することができる等の利点を有している。
