【0001】
【0057】
LRNVEL=LRNVEL(-1)+VELGAIN#×(TPVEL−TP)

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
The present invention relates to a technique for controlling a variable valve mechanism that varies the valve operating characteristics of an intake valve of an engine.
[0002]
[Prior art]
Conventionally, there has been known a variable valve mechanism having a configuration in which the valve lift amount and the valve operating angle of the intake valve and the exhaust valve are continuously changed (see Japanese Patent Application Laid-Open No. 2001-012262).
The variable valve mechanism includes a control shaft disposed substantially parallel to the cam shaft, a control cam eccentrically fixed to the outer periphery of the control shaft, a rocker arm pivotally supported by the control cam, A link arm / eccentric cam that swings and drives one end of the rocker arm according to the rotation of the camshaft, and a swing cam that swings in conjunction with the other end of the rocker arm and opens the intake / exhaust valve And a DC servo motor that rotationally drives the control shaft.
[0003]
The DC servo motor is feedback-controlled so that the actual operating angle of the control shaft detected by the operating angle sensor matches the target operating angle corresponding to the required valve opening characteristics.
[0004]
[Problems to be solved by the invention]
By the way, it is conceivable to control the intake air amount regardless of the throttle valve by making the valve lift amount and the valve operating angle variable by the variable valve mechanism (throttleless control).
However, when the intake air amount is controlled according to the operation characteristics of the intake valve as described above, if the deposit (deposits) adhering to the intake valve increases, the effective opening area decreases with respect to the valve lift amount and the valve operation angle. For this reason, it may become impossible to maintain highly accurate control.
[0005]
The present invention has been made paying attention to such a conventional problem, so that the control accuracy of the intake air amount can be satisfactorily maintained in response to a change in valve operating characteristics and effective opening area characteristics due to deposits or the like. It is an object of the present invention to provide a control device for a variable valve mechanism.
[0006]
[Means for Solving the Problems]
For this reason, the invention according to
A variable valve mechanism that varies the valve operating characteristics of the intake valve of the internal combustion engine, sets a target valve operating characteristic corresponding to the target intake air amount of the intake valve, and detects the actual valve operating characteristic of the intake valve A control device for a variable valve mechanism that performs feedback control so as to converge an operation characteristic to the target valve operation characteristic,
The intake air amount expected from the detected value of the valve operation characteristic while detecting the actual intake air amount and performing feedback control of the valve operation characteristic of the intake valve when the learning condition is established in a predetermined steady state operation state Calculate the expected value of
Comparing the detected value of the intake air amount with the expected value of the intake air amount, calculating a learning value of the valve operating characteristic of the intake valve according to the difference between the two,
Learning to correct the target valve operating characteristic of the intake valve is performed by the learning value .
[0007]
According to the invention of
If the effective opening area for the valve operating characteristics decreases due to an increase in deposits attached to the intake valve, etc., the actual intake air amount is detected with respect to the expected intake air amount from the detected value of the valve operating characteristics. Since the value decreases, the desired intake air amount can be obtained by correcting the control of the valve operating characteristic according to the difference between the two, and the intake air amount control by controlling the valve operating characteristic can be performed with high accuracy. Can be maintained.
[0008]
The invention according to claim 2
A variable valve mechanism that varies the valve operating characteristics of the intake valve of the internal combustion engine,
According to the operating state of the engine, a target intake air amount corresponding to the target torque is set,
Convert the set target intake air amount into the required opening area of the intake valve,
Based on the converted required opening area, the target valve operating characteristic of the intake valve is set,
A control device for a variable valve mechanism that performs feedback control so as to converge the valve operating characteristic to the target valve operating characteristic while detecting an actual valve operating characteristic of the intake valve ,
The intake air amount expected from the detected value of the valve operation characteristic while detecting the actual intake air amount and performing feedback control of the valve operation characteristic of the intake valve when the learning condition is established in a predetermined steady state operation state Calculate the expected value of
While comparing the detected value of the intake air amount and the expected value of the intake air amount, according to the difference between the two, the learning value of any one of the target intake air amount, the required opening area, or the target valve operating characteristic of the intake valve To calculate
Learning is performed to correct any one of the target intake air amount, the required opening area, or the target valve operating characteristic of the intake valve based on the learning value .
[0009]
According to the invention of claim 2,
A target intake air amount corresponding to a desired target torque is set according to the operating state of the engine, and a target valve operating characteristic is set so that the set target intake air amount can be obtained. Since the variable valve mechanism is controlled so that the actual valve operation characteristic converges to the target valve operation characteristic, the intake air amount control (torque control) by the variable valve mechanism is not limited to the throttle valve. It becomes possible.
[0010]
Then, by correcting any one of the target intake air amount, the required opening area, or the target valve operation characteristic of the intake valve, the deviation between the valve operation characteristic and the actual intake air amount can be easily corrected.
The invention according to claim 3
A target volume flow corresponding to the target torque is converted into a required opening area of the intake valve, and a target valve operating characteristic of the intake valve is set based on the required opening area.
[0011]
According to the invention of claim 3,
Since the target volume flow corresponding to the target torque is converted into the required opening area of the valve and the valve operating characteristic is set based on the required opening area, the valve operating characteristic corresponding to the desired target torque can be set immediately. Therefore, it is possible to accurately cope with a change in the target torque, and it is possible to perform torque control that secures torque linearity by the variable valve mechanism.
[0012]
The invention according to claim 4
The expected value of the intake air amount is calculated based on the valve operating characteristics, the engine rotational speed, and the opening degree of a throttle valve interposed upstream of the intake valve.
According to the invention of claim 4,
Based on the effective opening area of the intake valve determined by the valve operating characteristics and the engine rotational speed, the basic volume flow rate of the intake valve passage portion when the throttle valve is fully opened is obtained, while the throttle valve opening and the engine rotational speed are determined. Based on this, the volume flow ratio at the passage of the throttle valve (the ratio of the volume flow at the actual throttle opening to the maximum volume flow when the throttle valve is fully open) can be obtained, so the basic volume flow is corrected by the volume flow ratio. Thus, the expected value of the intake air amount can be calculated with high accuracy.
[0013]
The invention according to claim 5
The expected value of the intake air amount is corrected by atmospheric pressure and intake air temperature.
According to the invention of claim 5,
By calculating the expected value of the intake air amount as the mass flow rate by correcting it based on the atmospheric pressure and the intake air temperature, it is possible to perform a highly accurate comparison when compared with the actual intake air amount detected as the mass flow rate. Accuracy is improved.
[0014]
The invention according to claim 6
The calculation of the expected value of the intake air amount and the correction of the control of the valve operation characteristic are performed at idle or during all-cylinder fuel cut control.
According to the invention of claim 6,
During idling or during all-cylinder fuel cut control, the intake air amount is small and the intake air amount is proportional to the effective opening area of the intake valve, so the expected value of the intake air amount can be calculated accurately and the deposit Since the rate of change of the actual intake air amount with respect to the adhesion amount becomes large, a deviation in the intake air amount can be detected with high accuracy, and the control correction accuracy is improved.
[0015]
The invention according to claim 7
The target intake air amount is set based on the accelerator opening and the engine speed.
According to the invention of claim 7,
Since the target intake air amount is set based on the accelerator opening and the engine speed, torque control corresponding to the torque required by the driver, for example, is possible even in throttleless control.
[0016]
The invention according to claim 8
The variable valve mechanism is
A drive shaft that rotates in synchronization with the crankshaft;
A drive cam fixed to the drive shaft;
A swing cam that opens and closes the valve by swinging;
A transmission mechanism linked to the drive cam side at one end and linked to the swing cam side at the other end, and a control shaft having a control cam for changing the attitude of the transmission mechanism;
An actuator for rotating the control shaft,
The valve operating characteristic is varied by rotating the control shaft by the actuator.
[0017]
According to the invention of claim 8,
Torque can be controlled by a variable valve mechanism that continuously changes the valve lift and the valve operating angle by changing the operating angle of the control shaft by the actuator.

[0034]
Next, drive control of the variable valve mechanism (VEL) 112 by the control unit (C / U) 114 will be described.
As shown in FIG. 11, the control unit (C / U) 114 in the present embodiment includes a target volume flow rate calculation unit A, a VEL target operating angle calculation unit B, and a target throttle opening calculation unit C.
[0035]
The target volume flow rate calculation unit A calculates the target volume flow rate ratio TQH0ST as follows.
First, a required air amount (engine required air amount) Q0 corresponding to the accelerator opening APO and the engine rotational speed Ne (or to obtain a target torque set based on the accelerator opening APO and the engine rotational speed Ne) is set. On the other hand, an ISC required air amount QISC required in idle rotation speed control (ISC) is calculated.
[0036]
Then, the total required air amount (intake air amount) Q (= Q0 + QISC) is calculated by adding the ISC required air amount QSISC to the engine required air amount Q0, and this is calculated as the engine rotational speed Ne and the exhaust amount (cylinder total volume). By sequentially dividing by VOL #, the target volume flow ratio TQH0ST (= Q / (Ne · VOL #)) of the engine is calculated.
The VEL target operating angle calculator B calculates the target VEL operating angle TGVEL as follows.
[0037]
After performing BOOST correction (valve upstream pressure correction) on the target volume flow ratio TQH0ST, the target volume flow ratio is converted into a valve opening area. Then, the VEL target operating angle is calculated based on the valve opening area.
If the valve timing control mechanism (VTC) that varies the valve opening / closing timing by changing the rotational phase of the camshaft with respect to the crank angle is provided together with the variable valve mechanism (VEL) 112, the conversion is performed. The valve opening area after performing VTC correction for the phase change by the valve timing control mechanism (VTC) on the valve opening area and learning and correcting the valve operating characteristics due to deposits on the intake valve, etc.-characteristics change of the valve opening area Based on the above, the VEL target operating angle is calculated.
[0038]
A specific control block diagram is shown in FIG.
In FIG. 12, first, by performing valve upstream pressure correction on the target volume flow ratio TQH0ST, the volume flow ratio in the passage portion of the
[0039]
Specifically, this conversion is performed by dividing the target volume flow ratio TQH0ST by the valve upstream pressure correction value KMANIQH0. The valve upstream pressure correction value KMANIQH0 determines the opening area A of the
[0040]
Next, the larger one of the VEL required volume flow ratio THQ0VEL0 and the minimum volume flow ratio QH0LMT is selected (select high), and the volume flow ratio to be realized by the variable valve mechanism VEL112 (hereinafter referred to as VEL realized volume flow ratio). TQH0VEL is set (part b in FIG. 12).
Here, the minimum volume flow ratio QH0LMT is preset as a volume flow ratio that can be realized by the variable valve mechanism (VEL) 112 at the VEL minimum operating angle.
[0041]
In addition, when the VEL required volume flow ratio THQ0VEL0 is lower than the minimum volume flow ratio QH0LMT, the minimum volume flow ratio QHOLMT is selected. In this case, the target volume flow rate only with the variable valve mechanism VEL112 is selected. The ratio TQH0ST cannot be controlled (that is, the torque cannot be controlled), and the opening degree control of the
[0042]
Next, the VEL realized volume flow rate ratio TQH0VEL is converted into AA · Cd / NV characteristics as follows to obtain VAACDNV (part c in FIG. 12).
First, the air flow rate (that is, the cylinder intake air amount) Qc (kg / sec) passing through the
[0043]
[Expression 1]
R: gas constant (= 287), γ: specific heat ratio (= 1.4), Cd: valve flow loss factor, VA: valve opening area (m 2 ), P0: valve upstream pressure (for example, intake manifold section) Pressure Pm) (Pa), Pc: cylinder internal pressure (Pa), T0: valve upstream temperature (for example, intake manifold temperature Tm) (K).
[0044]
The VEL realized volume flow rate ratio TQH0VEL is obtained by dividing the amount of air passing through the
[0045]
[Expression 2]
Accordingly, Cd · VA / (Ne · VOL #) can be calculated by detecting the valve upstream temperature T0, the valve upstream pressure P0, and the cylinder internal pressure Pc. The calculated Cd · VA / (Ne · VOL #) is taken as the AA · Cd / NV characteristic.
[0046]
However, in the present embodiment, a table TVAACDNV as shown in the drawing is created in advance, and conversion to AA / Cd / NV characteristics is performed by table search based on the VEL realized volume flow ratio TQH0VEL.
The table TAACDNV is created as follows, for example.
That is, the VEL realized volume flow ratio TQH0VEL is a choke as a value corresponding to the Cd · VA / (Ne · VOL #) and the valve front-rear differential pressure ratio (Pc / P0) from the above equation (3) when not choked. In some cases, the above equation (4) shows that the value is proportional to Cd · VA / (Ne · VOL #). Therefore, the correlation between TQH0VEL and Cd · VA / (Ne · VOL #) is obtained by simulation or the like. Create by asking.
[0047]
Next, VAACDNV is multiplied by the engine rotational speed Ne and the displacement VOL # to calculate Cd · VA, that is, converted to AA · CD characteristics (flow rate characteristics) TVELAACD (parts d and e in FIG. 12).
Next, TVELAACD is divided by the valve flow rate loss coefficient Cd to calculate VA, that is, converted to the basic valve opening area TVELAA0 (part f in FIG. 12).
[0048]
Here, since the valve flow loss coefficient Cd varies depending on the valve lift, it is set by searching a preset table TCD based on the detected VEL operating angle VELCOM as shown in the figure.
Here, the valve flow loss coefficient Cd is set only by the VEL operating angle VELCOM. However, a map including the engine rotational speed Ne as a parameter is created, and the VEL operating angle VELCOM and the engine rotational speed are referenced with reference to the map. The valve flow loss coefficient Cd may be set according to the speed Ne.
[0049]
Next, VTC correction is performed on the basic valve opening area TVELAA0 to convert it into a valve required opening area TVELAA (part g in FIG. 12).
That is, the basic valve opening area TVELAA0 is a valve opening area required when driving of the valve timing control mechanism (VTC) is not considered (that is, VTC reference position: VTC operating angle = 0 deg). It is necessary to perform correction in accordance with the valve timing that changes as the mechanism (VTC) is driven. Specifically, when the valve timing is advanced with respect to the exhaust amount VOL # set in accordance with the maximum delay position (initial position) of the valve timing, the closing timing of the intake valve approaches the bottom dead center, The effective displacement VOL # increases. Thus, the VEL realized volume flow ratio TQH0VEL for obtaining the same volume flow rate is set to be larger than the required value, and the basic valve opening area TVELAA0 calculated based on the VEL realized volume flow ratio TQH0VEL is also larger than the required value. Will be calculated. Therefore, the basic valve opening area TVELAA0 is corrected to decrease in accordance with the increase in the effective displacement VOL #. By this correction, an accurate required valve opening area, that is, a required valve opening area TVELAA can be set. Note that the effective displacement VOL # is maximized on the retard side from the bottom dead center due to inertia as the engine rotational speed increases, so it is preferable to correct the engine exhaust speed in consideration of the engine rotational speed.
[0050]
Then, based on the valve required opening area TVELAA, a table TTGVEL as shown in the figure is searched to set a basic target VEL operating angle TGVEL0 (part h in FIG. 12). That is, since the VEL operating angle can be uniquely determined from the valve opening area, such a table is set in advance. Thereby, the basic target VEL operating angle TGVEL0 can be easily set.
[0051]
The basic target VEL operating angle TGVEL0 is corrected by an offset learning value LRNVEL by valve offset learning to calculate a final target VEL operating angle TGVEL.
The valve offset learning is performed as follows to correct a change in the characteristic of the valve operating characteristic-actual intake air amount due to the deposit (sediment) of the intake valve.
[0052]
This learning is executed when a plurality of conditions listed below are all satisfied.
a. The air flow meter and throttle sensor are not determined to be faulty.
b. The idle switch is ON and all cylinders are in fuel cut.
c. Each condition is that the amount of fluctuation of the intake air amount detected by the air flow meter is less than a predetermined value, the deviation of the actual rotation speed with respect to the target opening is less than a predetermined value, and the amount of change in the throttle opening is less than the predetermined value in idle rotation speed control. All are satisfied.
[0053]
When the learning condition is satisfied, an expected value TPVEL of the intake air amount is calculated based on the current valve operating characteristics of the intake valve and the engine operating state, and this expected value is the actual intake air amount TP detected by the air flow meter. Compared with learning.
The expected value TPVEL of the intake air amount is calculated as follows.
Referring to FIG. 13, actual throttle opening TPO detected by
[0054]
The actual state quantity AADNV is converted into the volume flow rate ratio QH0 of the throttle valve passage using the illustrated volume flow rate conversion table.
On the other hand, based on the intake valve operating angle ADIN-AN detected by the
[0055]
The expected value TPVEL00 of the intake air amount is multiplied by the volume flow rate ratio QH0 to make a correction according to the actual throttle valve opening, and the atmospheric pressure correction coefficient (= atmospheric pressure detection value ALT / reference atmospheric pressure BASEALT # ) To correct the atmospheric pressure, and the intake air temperature correction coefficient [= reference intake air temperature BASETAF # / (intake air temperature detection value TAF + 273)] to correct the intake air temperature, which is converted into a mass flow rate to be TPVEL.
[0056]
The expected value TPVEL of the intake air amount of the intake air amount is compared with the detected value TP of the intake air amount detected by the air flow meter.
When | TPVEL−TP | ≦ predetermined value (dead zone), the offset learning value LRNVEL is maintained at the previous value LRNVEL (−1).
When | TPVEL−TP |> predetermined value, the offset learning value LRNVEL is updated according to the following equation.
[0057]
LRNVEL = LRNVEL (−1) + VELGAIN # × (TPVEL−TP)
VELGAIN #: coefficient However, the lower limit value TVELMIN # and the upper limit value TVELMAX # are regulated so as to satisfy TVELMIN # ≦ LRNVEL ≦ TVELMAX #.
The offset learning value LRNVEL thus learned and updated is added to the basic target VEL operating angle TGVEL0 to calculate the final target VEL operating angle TGVEL (part i in FIG. 12).
[0058]
By performing offset learning in this way, even if the valve operating characteristic-actual intake air amount characteristic changes over time due to deposits (deposits) of the intake valve, etc., correction of learning of the valve operating characteristic corresponding to the characteristic change is performed. By doing so, highly accurate intake air amount control can be maintained.
Next, the target throttle opening calculation unit C will be described. The target throttle opening calculator C fully opens the target throttle opening when no negative pressure is required, and sets the target throttle opening that secures the target boost when a constant negative pressure (target boost) is required. Further, when the minimum volume flow ratio QH0LMT is selected in the VEL target operating angle calculation unit B (that is, when torque control cannot be performed only by the variable valve mechanism (VEL) 112), the VEL target operating angle calculation unit B cooperates with the variable valve mechanism (VEL) 112. Then, the target throttle opening degree for realizing the target volume flow ratio TQH0ST is calculated.
[0059]
Then, the
The variable valve mechanism is not limited to the configuration described above, and may be based on other configurations.
The valve operating characteristic of the
[0060]
Further, in the present embodiment, the target valve characteristic is learned and corrected by valve offset learning. However, the target intake air amount and the required opening area may be learned and corrected earlier than that.
