【0076】

[Industrial application fields]
The present invention relates to an injection nozzle that injects fuel into a diesel engine or the like.
[0002]
[Prior art]
In recent years, as a part of environmental pollution countermeasures, regulations on the amount of harmful substances contained in the exhaust of diesel engines, such as NOx and exhaust particulates, have been strengthened.
[0003]
Pilot injection is one of the effective means for reducing NOx in diesel engine exhaust and noise during idling. This is to inject fuel multiple times per engine combustion cycle. In general, a small amount of fuel is first injected (that is, pilot injection), and once the injection is stopped, the remaining fuel is injected again.
[0004]
In a diesel engine, the fuel injected into the combustion chamber evaporates while traveling in the combustion chamber, and a large amount of fuel burns at once after a certain period of time until the conditions for combustion are satisfied, that is, the ignition delay period has elapsed. . For this reason, the combustion chamber average maximum temperature is increased and a large amount of NOx is generated. Moreover, the pressure in the combustion chamber rises rapidly. This is preferable from the point of torque generation of the engine, but causes a problem that vibration and noise increase during idling.
[0005]
When pilot injection is performed, the ignition delay period described above is shortened by the combustion of a small amount of fuel that is injected first, the combustion becomes slow, the combustion chamber average maximum temperature decreases, and the amount of NOx produced decreases. In addition, since the maximum pressure increase rate in the combustion chamber is reduced, vibration and noise during idling can be mitigated.
[0006]
In a diesel engine, as means for performing pilot injection, a fuel injection pump is provided with a pilot injection mechanism (for example, see Patent Document 1) and a fuel injection nozzle is provided with a pilot injection mechanism (for example, a patent). Reference 2).
[0007]
Here, the configuration and operation when the pilot injection mechanism is provided in the fuel injection nozzle will be briefly described.
[0008]
When the pressure of the fuel supplied from the fuel injection pump reaches a predetermined valve opening pressure or higher, the fuel injection nozzle releases the needle that is accommodated in the nozzle body and seats on the valve seat of the nozzle body and closes the nozzle hole. The injection is started by opening the nozzle hole formed at the end of the nozzle body. When the pressure of the fuel supplied from the fuel injection pump falls below a predetermined valve opening pressure, the needle is seated on the valve seat, the injection hole is closed, and the injection ends.
[0009]
Further, a fuel passage for supplying fuel fed from the fuel injection pump to the needle portion is branched in the middle, and connected to a plunger chamber that slidably accommodates a pilot injection plunger, and a return spring disposed in the plunger chamber The urging force pushes the plunger toward the fuel passage. Here, the urging force of the return spring is set slightly higher than the valve opening pressure of the needle. Therefore, when the pressure of the fuel supplied from the fuel injection pump becomes equal to or higher than the predetermined valve opening pressure, the needle is separated and injection is started (pilot injection is started). Further, when the pressure of the fuel supplied from the fuel injection pump rises and exceeds the urging force of the return spring, the plunger moves in the plunger chamber and comes into contact with the stopper and stops. As a result, the fuel pressure in the fuel passage once decreases, the needle is seated, and the injection stops (pilot injection ends). Further, when the pressure of the fuel supplied from the fuel injection pump rises, the injection starts again. In this case, since the above-mentioned plunger is already in contact with the stopper, the injection continues until the fuel pumping from the fuel injection pump is completed.

[Problems to be solved by the invention]
However, in the case where the fuel injection pump is provided with the pilot injection mechanism, in order to reduce the variation of the pilot injection amount among the cylinders of the engine, it is necessary to suppress the characteristic variation of the fuel injection nozzles installed in the respective cylinders to be small. .
[0013]
Further, the actual pilot injection amount needs to be confirmed by operating the fuel injection pump, the fuel injection nozzle, and the pipe connecting the two as a set. Therefore, it is very difficult to confirm the pilot injection amount in the production process of the fuel injection pump, and therefore there is a problem that it is practically impossible to adjust so as to suppress the variation of the pilot injection amount between the cylinders. .
[0014]
On the other hand, in the case where the pilot injection mechanism is provided in the fuel injection nozzle, the axial direction of the plunger is made coincident with the axial direction of the needle, so that the total length of the fuel injection nozzle becomes long and it may be difficult to mount on the engine There is sex.
[0015]
Further, in the case where the pilot injection mechanism is provided in the fuel injection nozzle, since the pilot injection mechanism is incorporated in the nozzle holder, the nozzle body is fixed to the nozzle holder every time the pilot injection amount is adjusted in the assembly process of the fuel injection nozzle. There is a problem that the number of work steps increases. Further, the pilot injection amount cannot be adjusted in a state where the fuel injection nozzle is attached to the engine.
[0016]
The present invention has been made based on such circumstances, and an object of the present invention is to provide a fuel injection nozzle capable of easily adjusting the pilot injection amount while ensuring good mountability to the engine.
[0017]
[Means for Solving the Problems]
In order to achieve the above object, the present invention employs the following technical means.
[0018]
According to a first aspect of the present invention, a fuel injection nozzle includes a nozzle body having a fuel injection port for injecting fuel, and is held movably inside the nozzle body, so that the fuel injection port can be opened and closed by a fuel supply pressure. A needle that moves in the axial direction, a nozzle holder that supports the nozzle body, and a nozzle body provided in the nozzle holderFuel reservoirA fuel injection nozzle comprising a supply passage for supplying fuel to a nozzle and a leak passage for discharging leaked fuel that is provided in the nozzle holder and that flows out from the sliding portion between the nozzle body and the needle, and has a bottomed guide hole. A piston guide whose hole communicates with the supply passage, a piston that is fitted into the guide hole, and is pushed and moved to the opposite side of the supply passage with respect to the piston guide as the fuel pressure in the supply passage increases, and a supply passage for the piston A stopper that limits the amount of movement to the opposite side by contacting the piston, and a spring that urges the piston toward the supply passage, so that the axial direction of the piston is substantially perpendicular to the axial direction of the needle The structure is formed.
[0019]
In a conventional fuel injection nozzle provided with a pilot injection mechanism, the axial direction of the plunger of the pilot injection mechanism is arranged to coincide with the axial direction of the needle, that is, the needle and the plunger are arranged in series. For this reason, there is a problem that the total length of the fuel injection nozzle, that is, the length of the needle in the axial direction becomes long, and it becomes difficult to mount it on the engine.
[0020]
On the other hand, in the fuel injection nozzle according to
[0021]
In the fuel injection nozzle according to
[0022]
In the fuel injection nozzle according to claim 2 of the present invention, the pressure receiving area of the piston on which the fuel pressure in the supply passage acts while the piston is in contact with the nozzle holder side is the supply in a state where the piston is separated from the nozzle holder side. The structure is smaller than the pressure receiving area of the piston on which the fuel pressure in the passage acts.
[0023]
That is, when the piston is in contact with the nozzle holder, the magnitude of the force due to the fuel pressure in the supply passage that acts on the piston, that is, the piston acts in the direction away from the nozzle holder is In a state away from the pressure, the force is smaller than the force due to the fuel pressure in the supply passage acting on the piston.
[0024]
In other words, during the pilot injection, the magnitude of the force due to the fuel pressure in the supply passage acting in the direction in which the piston moves away from the nozzle holder increases from the moment when the piston moves away from the nozzle holder side.
[0025]
As a result, the piston can be quickly and surely moved until it abuts against the stopper, so that the fuel pressure in the supply passage can be temporarily reduced to reliably terminate the pilot injection. Therefore, it is possible to reduce the variation of the pilot injection amount at the same fuel injection nozzle every time.
The fuel injection nozzle according to claim 3 of the present invention is characterized in that communication between the supply passage and the space for housing the spring in the guide hole provided in the

Increasing the injection pressure for exhaust purification of diesel engines tends to induce abnormal injection such as secondary injection and cavitation erosion in the pipe connecting the fuel injection pump and the fuel injection nozzle. By maintaining the value at an appropriate value, these problems can be prevented.

Conventionally, the residual pressure is maintained at an appropriate value by using an isobaric valve (CPV, Constant Pressure Valve) as a delivery valve of the fuel injection pump.

However, the isobaric valve has a complicated structure, requires a large number of adjustment steps, and causes an increase in cost.
