本発明は、作画プレート上の記録紙に所望の作画を行う記録装置に関するもので、特に記録紙幅が大きい形式の記録装置に用いられる作画プレートの構造の改善に関する。

【従来の技術】
従来のこの種の記録装置を、図2及び図3を用いて説明する。図2及び図3において、10はプラテン、11は作画プレート、12は作画プレート、13はレール、14は記録紙、15は支柱、111、112及び113は、それぞれ作画プレート11の空気吸引穴、ネジ穴及び平滑面である。

図2に示すように、この種の記録装置では、記録紙14はプラテン10の作画プレート11を横断するように所定の速度で移送される。この時、記録紙14にしわ等が発生しないようまた安定した移送を行えるよう、プラテン10の内部の空気を吸引するファンを設けて記録紙14を作画プレート11の平滑面113に平らに支持されるよう構成されている。

作画ヘッド12は、図示の例ではインクジェット記録ヘッドであるが、作画プレートの平滑面に平行に、かつその長手方向に延びるレール13に取り付けられている。そして、図示しないヘッド移送機構によりこのレール13に沿って記録を行いながら移動可能に構成されている。

この従来装置の作画プレート11は、図3に示すように、所定の間隔でネジ穴112が設けられた空気吸引穴111と平滑面113とを有する一枚のプレートから構成されていた。この一枚のプレートを複数の支柱で支えるよう構成していた。

【発明が解決しようとする課題】
以上のような従来装置では、記録紙幅の大きい(おおむねA3サイズを超えるもの)記録紙14を用いる記録装置では、作画プレート11を全幅に渡って平滑度を所定の精度内で製造することが困難で、かつ高コストの要因となっていた。
この発明は、この点について改善するためになされたものである。

【課題を解決するための手段】
このため、この発明においては、
記録紙を吸引して当該記録紙を平滑に支持するため、平滑でかつ複数の空気吸引穴が形成された作画プレート、この作画プレートを所定の速度で横断するように上記記録紙を移送する記録紙移送手段、この移送される記録紙の上記作画プレート上にある部位に所定の記録を行う記録ヘッドとを有した記録装置において、上記作画プレートを、複数の空気吸引穴と平滑面及び連結部からなるほぼ同一形状の小プレートで構成し、これらの小プレートを複数連結して構成した。

以下、この発明を図面を参照して説明する。
この発明では、図1に示すように、作画プレートを複数の小さな作画プレート11(以下、この作画プレートを小作画プレートという。)を複数連結した構成を有している。

各小作画プレート11は、空気吸引穴111と、平滑面113及び両端部に形成される連結部となるネジ穴112部分を有している。この小作画プレート11を必要な長さ分だけ横に連結する。そして、この際において各連結部(2つの作画プレート11の重なり部分)のネジ穴112が同一の位置となるように構成されている。
