Description
【0001】

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
The present invention relates to a gasket, and more particularly to a gasket having a graphite layer formed on a gasket substrate.
[0002]
[Prior art]
2. Description of the Related Art Conventionally, a gasket used for an engine or the like is known in which a graphite layer containing graphite is formed on both surfaces of a gasket substrate. This gasket is used, for example, in an engine using an aluminum cylinder head and a cast iron cylinder block.
In other words, in the above engine, aluminum has a larger elongation due to thermal expansion than cast iron, so the amount of deformation of the cylinder head becomes larger than the amount of deformation of the cylinder block as the engine is used. Stress is applied in the thrust direction due to the difference in deformation between the cylinder head and the cylinder block.
However, if the gasket is used, the gasket layer slides against the cylinder head and the cylinder block and receives the stress by the graphite layer, so that the gasket is prevented from being damaged.
[0003]
[Problems to be solved by the invention]
However, in the gasket, the graphite layer generally has a thickness of about 0.1 mm, and a coat layer having other components, for example, a rubber layer containing rubber is formed with a thickness of about 0.02 mm. It is formed thicker than that.
In addition, since the graphite layer is formed on both surfaces of the gasket substrate, the overall thickness of the gasket is increased, and in addition to the fact that the graphite layer is thin, the sag of the gasket layer is large. There is a problem that durability is low.
In order to form a graphite layer on a gasket substrate, high cost and low productivity are problems, and since the graphite layer is soft, it is necessary to be careful when handling a gasket formed with a graphite layer. It becomes.
Furthermore, when the gasket is composed of two upper and lower gasket substrates in order to improve the sealing performance, a graphite layer is formed on both surfaces of the two gasket substrates, so that the thickness of the gasket is further increased and durability is increased. The reduction of the becomes remarkable.
In view of the above problems, the present invention provides a gasket that is low in cost and high in durability and productivity as compared with conventional gaskets.
[0004]
[Means for Solving the Problems]
That is, the gasket according to claim 1 is a gasket composed of a single gasket substrate that is sandwiched between two members and seals between the two members, and the surface roughness of one member is increased while the surface roughness of the other member is increased. It is characterized in that a graphite layer containing graphite is formed only on the surface of the gasket substrate having a finer roughness and a surface of the gasket substrate having a rough surface.
The gasket according to
Furthermore, the gasket according to
[0005]
According to the gasket of the first aspect, since the graphite layer is formed only on one side of the gasket substrate, the thickness of the gasket itself can be reduced as compared with the conventional gasket, thereby improving the durability of the gasket. It is possible to provide a gasket with high productivity at low cost.
In addition, according to the gaskets of
