BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
The present invention relates to an electric power steering apparatus.
[0002]
[Prior art]
Some electric power steering apparatuses (EPS) for automobiles transmit the output of a steering assist motor to a steering mechanism via a drive gear and a driven gear.
In this type of EPS, the drive gear is made of, for example, a worm, and the driven gear is made of a synthetic resin annular tooth that meshes with the drive gear and a metal annular holding member that is coupled to the inner periphery of the annular tooth body. For example, a worm wheel is provided. This type of driven gear is configured to reduce noise caused by meshing with the drive gear by making the annular tooth body made of synthetic resin.
[0003]
With respect to the one provided with the driven gear, a groove is provided on the outer periphery of the annular holding body, and a synthetic resin is filled in the groove to form an annular tooth body. An electric power steering device that restricts relative rotation and relative movement in the axial direction has been proposed (see, for example, Patent Document 1).
Further, there has been proposed an electric power steering device in which the coupling force is further increased by increasing the axial length of the outer periphery of the annular holder so as to increase the coupling area with the annular tooth body (for example, Patent Document 2).
[0004]
Furthermore, an electric power that combines the annular holder and the annular tooth body by interposing an elastomer resin material lower in hardness than the synthetic resin material forming the annular tooth body between the annular holder and the annular tooth body. A steering device has been proposed (see, for example, Patent Document 3).

[0006]
[Problems to be solved by the invention]
By the way, in order to extend the life of the driven gear, it is important to keep the meshing between the drive gear and the driven gear in an appropriate state.
The present invention has been made under such a background, and an object thereof is to provide an electric power steering device capable of extending the life of a driven gear.
[0007]
[Means for Solving the Problems and Effects of the Invention]
In order to achieve the above object, according to a first aspect of the present invention, there is provided an electric power steering apparatus for transmitting an output of a steering assist motor to a steering mechanism via a drive gear and a driven gear, wherein the driven gear is an annular made of synthetic resin. Including a tooth body and a metal annular holder inserted integrally with the annular tooth body during injection molding of the annular tooth body, and one of the inner periphery of the annular tooth body and the outer periphery of the annular holder body One includes a convex portion and the other includes a concave portion that fits into the convex portion, and the joint surface between the convex portion and the concave portion is provided with a fall prevention means for preventing the annular tooth body from collapsing with respect to the annular holder , The fall prevention means is provided on the pair of end faces of the convex portion facing in the axial direction of the driven gear and the pair of inner surfaces corresponding to the concave portion so as to undulate in the axial direction of the driven gear and engages with each other. Including the above-mentioned unevenness Engaging portion includes a ridge and concave extending in a direction intersecting with the radial direction of the driven gear, the ridges and concave is characterized by forming a cross-sectional curved shape.
[0008]
For example, when a motor is driven using a worm as a driving gear and a worm wheel as a driven gear, the annular tooth body of the driven gear is connected to the annular holder at the meshing portion with the driving gear. A moment (hereinafter referred to as “defeating force”) that attempts to defeat is applied.
According to the present invention, the fall prevention means resists the above-described fall force, and thus the fall of the annular tooth body with respect to the annular holding body can be prevented. Therefore, it is possible to prevent the meshing position of the annular tooth body and the drive gear from shifting, i.e., the meshing position of the drive gear and the driven gear from being shifted, and maintain the proper meshing state so that the life of the driven gear is remarkably increased. Can be long.
[0009]
In addition , the engagement of the concavo-convex engaging portions can resist an extremely large tilting force, and can reliably prevent the annular tooth body from collapsing with respect to the annular holding body.
[0010]
Furthermore , since the engaging force between the ridges and the ridges can be increased, it is possible to resist a greater tilting force and to more reliably prevent the annular tooth body from falling over the annular holder.
In addition , the synthetic resin material can be satisfactorily wound around the ridges and dents during injection molding and filled without any gaps, and molding defects can be prevented.
[0011]
In the second invention first shot Akira, characterized in that the bottom surface of the top surface and the recessed portion of the convex portion to bind to each other, provided the restriction means for restricting the relative rotation between the annular tooth body and the annular holding member And According to the present invention, it is possible to sufficiently secure the mutual coupling force between the annular tooth body and the annular holder in the circumferential direction, and to transmit a larger torque (steering assisting force).
