Description
【0001】

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
The present invention belongs to the technical field of image recording methods and apparatuses, and particularly relates to an image recording technique using a two-dimensionally arranged light source group.
[0002]
[Prior art]
In a digital image exposure system used in various printers, the laser beam is deflected in the main scanning direction, and the recording medium and the optical system are relatively moved in the sub-scanning direction orthogonal to the main scanning direction. Thus, so-called laser beam scanning exposure (raster scanning), in which a recording medium is two-dimensionally exposed with a laser beam modulated in accordance with a recorded image, is the mainstream.
[0003]
On the other hand, two-dimensional spatial light modulators such as liquid crystal displays (hereinafter referred to as LCD) and digital micromirror devices (hereinafter referred to as DMD) which are used as display means in displays and monitors in recent years. Various digital image exposure systems have been proposed. In this exposure system, basically, a display image by a two-dimensional spatial light modulator is formed on the recording medium, thereby exposing the recording medium.
In particular, DMD is advantageous for high-speed exposure because it has a higher modulation speed (response speed) and higher light use efficiency than LCD.
[0004]
A digital exposure system using such a spatial light modulation element is disclosed in, for example, US Pat. No. 5,499,901 or EP 0992350A1.
All of those disclosed in these publications relate to an image recording apparatus that forms an image formed on an image signal on a spatial light modulation element such as a DMD on a recording medium and records it. By moving the image on the spatial light modulator in accordance with the movement of the recording medium to be stopped, the image on the recording medium is stopped, thereby using a light source that is wide and difficult to reduce, A small recording beam is obtained to enable high resolution image recording.

The present invention has been made in view of the above-described conventional problems. In the outer drum image recording method, the apparatus configuration of the deflection synchronization system in particular is simplified to enable continuous sub-scanning, and image recording productivity. [0013]
[Means for Solving the Problems]
In order to solve the above problems, a first aspect of the present invention is a two-dimensional arrangement of a drum-shaped recording medium rotating at a constant speed or a recording medium mounted on the outer surface of a drum rotating at a constant speed. The main scanning is performed by the optical system using the light source group, the recording medium is exposed, the optical system is moved in the sub scanning direction substantially orthogonal to the main scanning direction, and the sub scanning is performed on the recording medium. An image recording method for recording an image, wherein light from the two-dimensionally arranged light source group is deflected to move an image formed on the recording medium in accordance with the movement of the recording medium. In the main scanning direction, the image is relatively stationary with respect to the recording medium, and the optical system is moved at a constant speed in the sub-scanning direction, and the modulation data of the two-dimensionally arranged light source group is obtained. , Secondary to the optical system In synchronization with the movement in the inspection direction, the optical system is sequentially shifted in the direction opposite to the movement direction, and the image is also made relatively stationary with respect to the recording medium in the sub-scanning direction. An image recording method is provided.
[0014]
In addition, when the recording of one frame, which is the image range recorded at a time on the recording medium, by the two-dimensionally arranged light source group is completed and the next frame image is recorded, It is preferable that the deviation in the sub-scanning direction from the next frame is an integral multiple of the recording pixel.
[0015]
Similarly, in order to solve the above-described problem, a second aspect of the present invention is a drum-shaped recording medium that rotates at a constant speed, or a recording medium that is mounted on the outer surface of a drum that rotates at a constant speed, and An optical system using a two-dimensionally arranged light source group that exposes a recording medium in a main scanning direction that is a moving direction of the recording medium, and a modulation data generator that controls modulation data supplied to the light source group And an image recording apparatus having a sub-scanning drive system that moves the optical system in a sub-scanning direction substantially orthogonal to the main scanning direction, the optical system from the light source group arranged two-dimensionally A deflector for deflecting light, and deflecting the light by the deflector to move an image formed on the recording medium in accordance with the movement of the recording medium, and the image in the main scanning direction. For the recording medium The optical system is moved at a constant speed in the sub-scanning direction by the sub-scanning drive system, and is modulated by the modulation data generator. Data is sequentially shifted in the direction opposite to the moving direction of the optical system in synchronization with the movement of the optical system in the sub-scanning direction, and the image is also relative to the recording medium in the sub-scanning direction. Provided is an image recording apparatus characterized in that the apparatus is stationary.
[0016]
Further, the sub-scanning drive system performs recording of an image of one frame that is an image range recorded at a time on the recording medium by the light source group arranged two-dimensionally, and then records an image of the next frame. When moving, it is preferable to drive the optical system in the sub-scanning direction so that the shift in the sub-scanning direction between the previous frame and the next frame is an integral multiple of the recording pixels.

[0037]
As described above in detail, according to the present embodiment, the use area of the two-dimensional spatial light modulator is shifted in accordance with the movement in the sub-scanning direction to prevent the image from flowing in the sub-scanning direction. Therefore, since one pixel of a recorded image is formed by multiple exposure of a plurality of spatial light modulation elements, even if a part of the spatial light modulation element has a defect, it is difficult to stand out, and there is a part with a defective pixel and a part without it. By performing correction such as changing the recording time in step S1, it is possible to eliminate the influence of defective pixels from the recorded image.
In addition, since the deflection direction of the light beam can be made only in the one-dimensional direction of the main scanning direction, the configuration of the apparatus can be simplified, and the optical system can be continuously moved in the sub-scanning direction. Generation | occurrence | production can be prevented, durability and reliability of an apparatus can be increased, and it becomes possible to improve productivity.
[0038]
The image recording method and apparatus of the present invention have been described in detail above. However, the present invention is not limited to the above examples, and various improvements and modifications may be made without departing from the spirit of the present invention. Of course.

【The invention's effect】
As described above, according to the present invention, the use area of the two-dimensional spatial light modulator is shifted in the reverse direction in accordance with the movement in the sub-scanning direction so as to prevent the flow of the recorded image in the sub-direction. Therefore, the recorded image can be stopped only by deflecting the light beam only in the one-dimensional direction of the main scanning direction, so that the device configuration of the deflection synchronization system can be simplified and the productivity of image recording can be improved. It became possible to improve.
