In order to stabilize these superconductors, a large number of superconducting filaments having a diameter of several tens of μm or less are embedded in a metal matrix having a small resistivity such as Cu, and the superconducting filaments have a twisted structure. . Such a superconductor is called an extra fine multi-core wire.
[0003]
Among these superconducting materials, superconducting materials based on compounds have the advantage that both the critical temperature and the upper critical magnetic field are considerably higher than alloy materials such as NbTi, but they have the disadvantage of being extremely brittle. ing. Accordingly, since the compound superconductor itself does not have processability, various ideas have been given regarding the manufacturing method for obtaining this ultrafine multi-core wire. Currently, an industrially established production method uses a solid-phase reaction. As a main method, for example, “Materials Science” Vol. 20, no. 2, Aug. 1983, p. 82-P. 83, bronze method, tube method, internal diffusion method, external diffusion method and the like.
[0004]
FIG. 4 shows, for example, Nb before heat treatment by a conventional internal diffusion method described in Japanese Patent Publication No. 61-16141. Three It is a cross-sectional view which shows the precursor wire of Sn compound superconductor. In FIG. 4, 1 is Nb before heat treatment. [0007]
Thus, Nb by the internal diffusion method Three The manufacturing method of Sn compound superconductor is also established industrially. Recently, Nb Three By adding a third element such as Ti or Ta to the Sn compound, the critical current density (hereinafter referred to as Jc) in a high magnetic field is improved, and a high magnetic field magnet of 17 T or more has been put into practical use. For AC applications or pulse magnet applications, stranded wire type superconducting conductors are used to reduce AC loss and secure current capacity.
[0008]
[Problems to be solved by the invention]
Nb Three Since the Sn compound superconductor has the disadvantage that it is extremely fragile as described above, there has been a problem that the superconducting characteristics, particularly the Jc characteristics, with respect to external load strain are significantly deteriorated. For this reason, Nb produced by heat treatment Three There has been a problem that it is difficult to form a superconducting conductor by twisting a Sn compound superconductor to form a superconducting conductor, or to form a superconducting coil by winding using this superconducting conductor.
[0009]
In the production of a relatively small superconducting coil, a precursor wire before heat treatment or a conductor twisted from several to several tens of precursor wires may be subjected to appropriate insulation treatment in some cases before being desired in advance. Nb after coiling into shape Three This is performed by a so-called Wind & React method (hereinafter referred to as W & R method) in which heat treatment for producing a Sn compound superconductor is performed. In a relatively small superconducting coil, this W & R method avoids the distortion problem associated with coil formation.
[0010]
On the other hand, as seen in, for example, superconducting coils for fusion reactors, large-scale superconducting coils with a current capacity of several tens of kA and a coil diameter of several tens of meters have been manufactured. Has appeared. In other words, in order to secure current capacity, a conductor {cable in conduit (hereinafter referred to as CIC)} containing 1000 or more twisted precursor wires in a metal tube called stainless steel called a conduit is manufactured. In order to secure the conductor length, a plurality of conductors are connected to each other (when a stranded conductor is drawn into a plurality of conduits and only the conduits are welded to each other, the plurality of conductors may be welded or soldered, etc. ) Has become necessary.
[0011]
However, when the W & R method is adopted for a large superconducting coil, Nb by the conventional internal diffusion method is used. Three The precursor wire of the Sn compound superconductor has the following problems because the Cu matrix of the precursor wire is not bronzed (the Cu matrix becomes a Cu—Sn group matrix).
(1) In a process for forming a conductor or coil, for example, in a welding process between conduits, when heat equal to or higher than the melting point of Sn (about 200 ° C.) is applied, Sn inside the precursor wire of that portion melts and the inside of the precursor wire In the subsequent heat treatment, Sn diffusion reaction and Nb3Sn formation reaction in that portion of the precursor wire did not proceed well, and as a result, Nb Three The Jc characteristics of the Sn compound superconductor will deteriorate. Therefore, heat higher than the melting point of Sn cannot be applied during such processing steps.
(2) Before performing the heat treatment, an end sealing process for the purpose of preventing Sn from flowing out due to melting of Sn from the precursor wire during the heat treatment is required for each precursor wire. Furthermore, after the heat treatment, it is necessary to form a conductor or coil having a final shape after removing these end sealing portions.
(3) The material strength of the matrix is weak.
[0012]
In order to solve these problems, Nb by an internal diffusion method before heat treatment Three The precursor wire of the Sn compound superconductor was preliminarily preliminarily subjected to preliminary heat treatment in advance, and an attempt was made to bronz the precursor wire matrix. However, the method of twisting the precursor wire and then performing the final heat treatment has a problem that the Jc characteristic is deteriorated due to the twisting.
[0013]
The cause of the deterioration of the Jc characteristic due to the stranded wire processing is explained as follows. That is, as shown in FIG. 5, it was found from the analysis result by an electron beam microanalyzer (hereinafter referred to as “EPMA”) that the Nb—Sn-based compound layer 6 is formed on the outer peripheral portion of the
[0014]
The present invention has been made to solve the above-described problems, and is resistant to external load strain, and heat higher than the melting point of Sn during a processing step of forming a conductor or a coil. Nb that can be added, that is, stranded wire processing or coil formation is easy Three It aims at obtaining the precursor wire of Sn compound superconductor, and its manufacturing method.
In addition, even when external load distortion is applied, Nb can suppress deterioration of Jc characteristics. Three It aims at obtaining the precursor wire of Sn compound superconductor, and its manufacturing method.
Furthermore, it is strong against external load strain during the manufacturing process, and even when external load strain is applied, it is possible to suppress deterioration of Jc characteristics, and during the processing step of forming a conductor or coil, the melting point of Sn or higher is exceeded. Nb with good characteristics that heat can be applied, resulting in easy stranded wire processing or coil formation Three Manufacturing method of Sn compound superconducting conductor and Nb Three It aims at obtaining the manufacturing method of Sn compound superconducting coil.

First, an Nb round bar is inserted into a Cu tube, and an Nb base metal material covered with a Cu tube reduced in hexagonal shape by drawing is obtained, and the Nb base metal material covered with this Cu tube Is cut to a predetermined length. Next, a Cu base matrix made of a Cu rod or a large number of Cu wires is arranged in the central portion of the Cu container, and an Nb-based metal material covered with a large number of Cu tubes outside the central portion of the Cu based matrix. In this way, a large number of Nb-based metal rods embedded in the Cu-based matrix, that is, Nb, are formed by welding and sealing the lid while disposing air in the container by disposing the lid of Cu. A composite billet having a base filament 12 is formed.

The composite billet is extruded and processed, both ends of the composite billet are cut transversely, and the center of the cut surface is cut to make a hole. A Sn-based metal material is inserted into the hole to form a composite. In some cases, the outer periphery of the composite is further covered with a Ta tube serving as a Sn diffusion barrier, and an oxygen-free copper tube is covered outside.

The composite obtained in this way is drawn or, if necessary, a plurality of the composites are further combined before drawing. Then, an edge part process is performed by fuse | melting an edge part by arc melting.

By performing such preliminary heat treatment, bronzing, that is, the Cu-based matrix of the composite and the Sn-based metal material undergo a diffusion reaction to form the Cu-Sn-based matrix 11.
In particular, the central portion of the Cu—Sn group matrix 11 is formed only from the Cu—Sn group matrix.

FIG. 3 shows “Binary Alloy Phase Diagrams” 2nd Edition, Vol. 2, ASM International (1990), p. 1481-P. FIG. 14C is a Cu—Sn binary system phase diagram shown in 1483.
In FIG. 3, the horizontal axis indicates the solid solubility of Sn in Cu by weight% (lower axis) and atomic weight% (upper axis), and the vertical axis indicates the temperature in ° C. L indicates a liquid phase. As for other indications, for example, alpha phase bronze (range indicated by α (Cu) in the figure) indicates the solid solubility of Sn in Cu at each temperature of 100 to 1084.87 ° C., and the maximum is Cu-15. 8 wt% Sn (520 ° C.). In addition, for example, the delta phase (range indicated by the δ phase in the figure) shows the solid solubility of Sn in Cu at each temperature of 350 to 586 ° C., and the maximum is Cu-32.55 wt% Sn (582 ° C.). It is shown.
[0039]
In the case of a wire bronze method in which the matrix is bronzed in advance and wire-drawn, the precipitation of the compound phase in the Cu-Sn group matrix is not preferable due to the problem of workability. There is a limitation that it must be in the alpha phase bronze alloy region. For this reason, a bronze matrix of about 14 wt% or less is usually used for the wire rod by the bronze method. Therefore, finally Nb Three The amount of Nb that becomes the Sn compound superconductor can be charged only in accordance with the amount of Sn, and eventually Nb produced Three The amount of Sn compound superconductor is also limited.
[0040]
However, in the internal diffusion method, since each component of Nb, Sn, and Cu is charged in a pure metal state, there is no limitation on the amount of Nb and Sn due to workability restrictions. Therefore, the average Sn concentration of the Cu—Sn group matrix can be as high as 14 wt% or more. In other words, Nb Three The amount of the Sn compound superconductor can be increased, and the Jc characteristics can be improved.
Moreover, although the average Sn concentration of the upper limit of a preferable practical Cu-Sn group matrix has obtained 27.9 wt% by actual measurement, since it is also possible to make it still higher concentration (about 40 wt%) in calculation, Preferably it is 30 wt%.

【Example】
Example 1.
The first embodiment will be described based on a specific manufacturing example.
In an oxygen-free copper container having an outer diameter of 180 mm and an inner diameter of 156 mm, 91 oxygen-free copper bars having a hexagonal cross section with a side of 3.5 mm are arranged in the center, and 306 of the same dimensions are provided around the rod. The copper-coated Nb single-core wire (Nb space factor: 53.7%) was stored with the highest packing density, and in order to further increase the packing density, the gap was filled with oxygen-free copper fine wires. In this way, a composite billet was formed by placing a Cu lid and sealing the lid by welding while excluding air in the container.
[0056]
The composite billet thus formed was extruded to a diameter of 50 mm, both ends were cut, and the outer periphery was cut to 46 mm. A 19 mm diameter hole is drilled in the central copper part and a 18.8 mm Sn rod is inserted there to form a composite. The composite was further drawn to 9.8 mm. After cleaning the surface, this outer surface is covered with a Ta tube that is a diffusion barrier of Sn with an outer diameter of 11 mm and an inner diameter of 10 mm, and further, an oxygen-free copper tube for stabilization with an outer diameter of 16 mm and an inner diameter of 11.2 mm, Drawing was performed to a final diameter of 0.2 mm. The Nb filament diameter at this time was about 3 μm.
[0057]
The end portion of the composite thus obtained is subjected to end treatment by melting by arc melting, and in a nitrogen gas atmosphere, the temperature range is 520 to 580 ° C. and the maximum holding time is 60 hours. After the heat treatment, the edge processing portion is removed, and Nb Three A precursor wire of a Sn compound superconductor was formed. The precursor wire thus formed is designated as Sample 1-1. At this time, as shown in FIG. 2, the Nb—Sn-based compound layer formed on the outer periphery of the Nb filament corresponds to about 0.2 to 0.4 μm, which is about 15% of the filament diameter. The thinness was confirmed by EPMA analysis.
[0058]
Next, this Nb Three Three precursor wires (sample 1-1) of Sn compound superconductor were prepared and stranded with a pitch of 8 mm. The obtained stranded wire was subjected to a final heat treatment in a nitrogen gas atmosphere at a temperature range of 600 to 800 ° C. and a holding time of 30 to 300 hours. At this time, the end treatment of the stranded wire was not performed. The stranded wire thus obtained is designated as Sample 1-2.
[0059]
For comparison, three strands of the same precursor wire before the preliminary heat treatment are processed, and the end treatment of the strands is performed for each of the three wires, and the conventional heat treatment conditions of 550 to 580 ° C. are performed. Also, after the preliminary heat treatment with a holding time of 100 to 200 hours in the temperature range and the final heat treatment with a temperature range of 600 to 800 ° C. and a holding time of 30 to 300 hours, the end treatment portion is removed. Produced. The stranded wire thus obtained is designated as Sample 1-3.
[0060]
Samples 1-2 and 1-3 were measured for Jc in a liquid helium (4.2K) under a magnetic field of 12T. As shown in Table 1, the results are both Jc = 750 A / mm. 2 And good value.
[0061]
[Table 1]
[0062]
Example 2
A composite with a final diameter of 0.2 mm was produced in the same manner as in Example 1. After subjecting the obtained composite to end treatment in the same manner as in Example 1, after performing preliminary heat treatment in a nitrogen gas atmosphere with a temperature range of 520 to 580 ° C. and a maximum holding time of 60 hours , Remove the edge processing part, Nb Three An Sn compound superconductor precursor wire was prepared. This Nb Three Heat was applied by pressing an electric iron on the entire surface of a part of the precursor wire of the Sn compound superconductor, an area of about 5 cm. The surface temperature at this time was about 250-350 degreeC. This wire containing the heated portion was subjected to a final heat treatment in a nitrogen gas atmosphere with a temperature range of 600 to 800 ° C. and a holding time of 30 to 300 hours. At this time, the end treatment of the wire was not performed. The wire thus obtained is designated as Sample 2-1.
[0063]
For comparison, after the end treatment was performed on the same precursor wire before the preliminary heat treatment by the same method as in Example 1, a part of the precursor wire, an area of about 5 cm was formed by the same method as described above. Heat was applied by pressing an electric iron on the entire surface of the plate. The surface temperature at this time was about 250-350 degreeC. This precursor wire containing the heated portion is preheated in a nitrogen gas atmosphere at a temperature range of 550 to 580 ° C., which is a conventional heat treatment condition, and a holding time of 100 to 200 hours, and a temperature range of 600 to 800 ° C. Then, a final heat treatment with a holding time of 30 to 300 hours was continuously performed, and then an end-treated portion was removed. The wire thus obtained is designated as Sample 2-2.
[0064]
Samples 2-1 and 2-2 were measured for Jc in liquid helium (4.2 K) under a magnetic field of 12 T. As shown in Table 1, the result is Jc = 740 A / mm for sample 2-1. 2 Although it was a good value, in sample 2-2, Jc = 450 A / mm 2 And it was inferior value.
The cause of this is that, as a result of cross-sectional observation of the wire, heat above the melting point of Sn is applied to a part of the precursor wire, so that a “shink nest” is generated in the part of the precursor wire. The diffusion reaction of Sn does not proceed well, with the result that Nb Three It has been found that this is because the formation of the Sn compound superconductor does not proceed well.
[0065]
Comparative Example 1
A composite having a final diameter of 0.2 mm was produced in the same manner as in Example 1. After the end treatment was performed on the obtained composite in the same manner as in Example 1, the holding time was 100 to 200 hours in a nitrogen gas atmosphere at a temperature range of 550 to 580 ° C., which is a conventional preliminary heat treatment condition. After performing the preliminary heat treatment, the edge treatment portion was removed. The precursor wire thus obtained is designated as Sample 3-1. When this precursor wire was subjected to EPMA analysis on the Nb-Sn compound layer formed on the outer periphery of the Nb filament, as shown in FIG. 5, the filament diameter was about 0.8 μm exceeding about 0.6 μm. It exceeded about 20% and reached about 30%, and it was confirmed that it was very thick compared to Example 1.
[0066]
Next, three samples 3-1 were prepared and stranded with a pitch of 8 mm. This stranded wire was subjected to a final heat treatment in a nitrogen gas atmosphere at a temperature range of 600 to 800 ° C. and a holding time of 30 to 300 hours. At this time, the end treatment of the stranded wire was not performed. The stranded wire thus obtained is designated as Sample 3-2. For this stranded wire, Jc was measured in liquid helium (4.2 K) under a magnetic field of 12 T. As shown in Table 1, the result is Jc = 250 A / mm. 2 And it was inferior value.
[0067]
Comparative Example 2
In the same manner as in Example 1, a composite with a final wire diameter of 0.2 mm was produced. The composite was subjected to end treatment in the same manner as in Example 1, and then subjected to preliminary heat treatment in a nitrogen gas atmosphere at a temperature range of 550 to 580 ° C., which is a conventional preliminary heat treatment condition, and a holding time of 10 hours. After performing, the edge processing part was removed. The precursor wire thus obtained is designated as Sample 4-1. When this cross section of the precursor wire was subjected to EPMA analysis, Sn was not diffused to the outermost periphery of the matrix, and Cu remained in the outer periphery of the matrix.
[0068]
Next, three Samples 4-1 were prepared and stranded with a pitch of 8 mm. This stranded wire was subjected to a final heat treatment in a nitrogen gas atmosphere at a temperature range of 600 to 800 ° C. and a holding time of 30 to 300 hours. At this time, the end treatment of the stranded wire was not performed. The stranded wire thus obtained is designated as Sample 4-2. For this stranded wire, Jc was measured in liquid helium (4.2 K) under a magnetic field of 12 T. As shown in Table 1, the result is Jc = 200 A / mm. 2 And it was inferior value.
[0069]
Comparative Example 3
In the same manner as in Example 1, a composite with a final wire diameter of 0.2 mm was produced. This composite was subjected to end treatment in the same manner as in Example 1, and then preheated in a nitrogen gas atmosphere at a temperature range of 550 to 580 ° C., which is a conventional preheat treatment condition, and a holding time of 100 to 200 hours. Subsequently, after performing a final heat treatment with a temperature range of 600 to 800 ° C. and a holding time of 30 to 300 hours, the edge treatment portion was removed. Nb thus obtained Three An Sn superconductor is designated as Sample 5-1.
Next, this Nb Three Three Sn superconductor wires were prepared and stranded with a pitch of 8 mm. The stranded wire thus obtained is designated as Sample 5-2.
[0070]
For these samples 5-1, 5-2, Jc was measured in a liquid helium (4.2K) under a magnetic field of 12T. As shown in Table 1, the result is Jc = 760 A / mm for the sample 5-1 before the stranded wire. 2 Although it was a good value, for sample 5-2 that was twisted after heat treatment, Jc = 100 A / mm 2 The value was worse than that of Comparative Example 1.
[0071]
As shown in the above example, after sample 1-2 of Example 1 according to the present invention, that is, after the end treatment, the preliminary heat treatment with the temperature range of 520 to 580 ° C. and the longest holding time of 60 hours is performed. When the precursor wire formed by removing the end treatment portion is twisted into three strands, and the end heat treatment is not performed and the final heat treatment is performed at a temperature range of 600 to 800 ° C. and a holding time of 30 to 300 hours. The conventional Nb shown in Sample 5-1 of Comparative Example 3 Three Sn compound superconductor (when the pre-heat treatment and the final heat treatment are successively applied to the end-treated precursor wire, and then the end-treated portion is removed), and the conventional shown in Sample 1-3 of Example 1 Process (After three strands of precursor wire are processed, end treatment is applied to each of the three precursor wires, and after preliminary heat treatment and final heat treatment are performed continuously, those end treatment portions are removed.) On the other hand, the Jc value did not deteriorate.
[0072]
On the other hand, in the case where the end treatment is performed and the preliminary heat treatment is performed, the end treatment portion is removed and three strands are processed, and the final heat treatment is performed without performing the end treatment. -2 when the preheating condition as shown in -2 is 550 to 580 ° C and the holding time is long as 100 to 200 hours, or the preheating condition as shown in Sample 4-2 of Comparative Example 2 is 550 to 580 ° C. When the retention time was as short as 10 hours, the Jc value deteriorated to 1/3 or less.
[0073]
Further, as shown in Sample 5-2 of Comparative Example 3, after the preliminary heat treatment and the final heat treatment were successively performed on the precursor wire that had been subjected to the end treatment, the end treatment portion was removed and three strands were processed. In this case, the Jc value deteriorated to 14% or less.
[0074]
Therefore, it can be seen that controlling the thickness of the Nb—Sn compound layer formed on the outer periphery of the Nb-based filament is important for preventing the deterioration of the Jc value. Accordingly, the precursor wire may be subjected to preliminary heat treatment such that the temperature range is 500 to 580 ° C. and the holding time is within 60 hours, preferably the temperature range is 520 to 580 ° C. and the holding time is within 30 hours. At this time, if the heat treatment temperature is high or the heat treatment time is too long, the thickness of the Nb—Sn compound layer is increased, which increases the amount of the Nb—Sn compound layer destroyed by processing, which is not preferable. If the heat treatment temperature is low or the heat treatment time is too short, it is not preferable because bronzing of the matrix does not proceed easily.
[0075]
Moreover, after performing the sample 2-1 of Example 2 which concerns on this invention, ie, an edge part process, and performing the preliminary heat treatment whose temperature range is 520-580 degreeC and the longest holding time is 60 hours, an edge part process part is carried out. After applying heat at a surface temperature of about 250 to 350 ° C. to a part of the precursor wire formed by removing, the wire including the heated portion is heated in a nitrogen gas atmosphere at a temperature range of 600 to 800 ° C. When the final heat treatment of the final heat treatment with a holding time of 30 to 300 hours was performed, the conventional Nb shown in Sample 5-1 of Comparative Example 3 was used. Three The Jc value did not deteriorate with respect to the Sn compound superconductor (when the pre-heat treatment and the final heat treatment were continuously performed on the precursor wire subjected to the end treatment and then the end treatment portion was removed). .
[0076]
In contrast, the conventional Nb shown in Sample 2-2 of Example 2 Three After subjecting the precursor wire of the Sn compound superconductor to end treatment, a thermal load having a surface temperature of about 250 to 350 ° C. is applied to a part of the precursor wire, and then the wire including the heated portion is subjected to a nitrogen gas atmosphere. Among them, the conventional heat treatment conditions of 550 to 580 ° C. and preliminary heat treatment with a holding time of 100 to 200 hours and final heat treatment with a temperature range of 600 to 800 ° C. and a holding time of 30 to 300 hours are continuously performed. When the edge processing portion was removed, the Jc value deteriorated to about 60%.
[0077]
Therefore, it is possible to bronze the Cu matrix so that even if heat exceeding the melting point of Sn is applied to a part of the wire during processing, the wire does not cause a “shinkhole” due to melting of Sn. It turns out that it is important for prevention of deterioration. For this reason, for example, the precursor wire may be subjected to preliminary heat treatment such that the temperature range is 500 to 580 ° C. and the holding time is within 60 hours, preferably the temperature range is 520 to 580 ° C. and the holding time is within 30 hours.
[0078]
Example 3
Since the second embodiment is the same as the third embodiment except for the portion for forming the coil, the third embodiment will be described based on a specific manufacturing example.
A composite with a final wire diameter of 0.2 mm was produced in the same manner as in Example 1. The composite was subjected to end treatment in the same manner as in Example 1, and then subjected to preliminary heat treatment in a nitrogen gas atmosphere at a temperature range of 520 to 580 ° C. and a maximum holding time of 60 hours, The pretreatment wire was obtained by removing the part-treated portion.
Next, this precursor wire was divided into six, and a stranded wire conductor was obtained by twisting at a pitch of 10 mm using a stainless steel wire (made of SUS304) having a wire diameter of 0.2 mm as a core wire.
[0079]
The stranded conductor was wound 50 turns on a SUS304 winding frame having an outer diameter of 50 mm and a height of 50 mm for solenoid winding in a single layer so that the stranded conductors do not contact each other to produce a small coil. The obtained coil was subjected to a final heat treatment in a nitrogen gas atmosphere at a temperature range of 600 to 800 ° C. and a holding time of 30 to 300 hours. At this time, the end treatment of each wire of the stranded wire conductor was not performed. A current lead for excitation and a voltage terminal for voltage monitoring were connected to this coil, set in a cryostat, and then cooled with liquid helium to conduct a coil energization test under a magnetic field. As a result, the result of Jc excluding the portion of the SUS core under a magnetic field of 12 T of this conductor was Jc = 740 A /
[0080]
In addition, in this experiment, before carrying out the above-described six strands, the low melting point glass is applied to the precursor wire at 450 ° C. and subjected to an insulating coating by performing a baking treatment, and then the strands may be processed. investigated. In this method, Sn leaks in the precursor wire of the conventional internal diffusion method before the heat treatment, so that it could not be performed at a temperature exceeding the melting point of Sn so far, and the baking treatment of the insulating film could not be performed. It was made possible by using the precursor wire according to the present invention, and the present invention has found that the degree of freedom or tolerance of the processing process is greatly expanded in conductor processing and insulation processing.
[0081]
【The invention's effect】
As described above, Nb according to the present invention Three According to the precursor wire of the Sn compound superconductor, a Cu—Sn group matrix is formed. Therefore, in the subsequent processing step of forming a conductor or a coil, even if heat above the melting point of Sn is applied to a part of the precursor wire. , Because the matrix is bronzed and pure Sn does not exist, it is possible to suppress the occurrence of “shink nests” accompanying the melting of Sn, In addition, since the Nb-Sn group compound layer having a thickness of 20% or less of the diameter of the Nb group filament is formed, if it is such a thickness, the Nb-Sn group compound layer is strengthened by the unreacted Nb in the interior. Distortion is improved. Further, even if a part of the Nb-Sn group compound layer is cracked or broken due to external strain, the ratio of the Nb-Sn group compound layer to the entire Nb group filament is low. Deterioration of characteristics can be suppressed. Therefore, normal Nb in the subsequent heat treatment Three The formation reaction of the Sn compound superconductor occurs and the Jc characteristic is not deteriorated. Therefore, heat higher than the melting point of Sn can be applied during the process of forming the conductor or coil, that is, stranded wire processing or coil formation is facilitated. Moreover, since the Cu—Sn group matrix is formed, the end sealing process for each precursor wire for the purpose of preventing the loss of Sn during the subsequent heat treatment, and the heat treatment of the end sealing process part The removal process can be omitted, and the process can be simplified. Furthermore, since the Cu—Sn group matrix is formed, the material strength can be improved as compared with the case where each component of Cu, Sn, and Nb is charged in a pure metal state. For this reason, it is strong against external load strain, that is, stranded wire processing or coil formation becomes easy.
[0082]
Nb according to the present invention Three According to the precursor wire of the Sn compound superconductor, the Nb-Sn based compound layer having a thickness of 20% or less of the diameter of the Nb based filament is formed. Since it is strengthened by Nb, strain resistance is improved. Even if a part of the Nb-Sn base compound layer is cracked or broken due to external strain, the ratio of the Nb-Sn base compound layer to the entire Nb base filament is low. Deterioration of characteristics can be suppressed.
[0083]
Nb according to the present invention Three According to the precursor wire of the Sn compound superconductor, the average Sn concentration of the Cu—Sn group matrix can be increased to 14 wt% to 30 wt%, and an Nb amount corresponding to this can be ensured. Three The amount of the Sn compound superconductor can be increased, and the Jc characteristics can be improved.
[0084]
Nb according to the present invention Three According to the precursor wire of the Sn compound superconductor, the average Sn concentration of the Cu—Sn base matrix can be increased to 14 wt% or higher, so that the Cu—Sn base matrix can be converted into a gamma phase, a delta phase in addition to the alpha phase bronze alloy. , And a mixed phase with at least one of the epsilon phase bronzes. For this reason, the average Sn concentration of the Cu—Sn-based matrix can be as high as 14 wt% or more, and as a result, a sufficient amount of Nb can be secured. Three The amount of the Sn compound superconductor can be increased, and the Jc characteristics can be improved.
[0086]
Nb according to the present invention Three According to the manufacturing method of the precursor wire of the Sn compound superconductor, the Cu-Sn group matrix is formed by the step of forming a Cu-Sn group matrix by the diffusion reaction of the Cu group matrix and the Sn group metal material. Even if heat higher than the melting point of Sn is applied to a part of the precursor wire in the subsequent processing step of forming a conductor or coil, the matrix is bronzed and no pure Sn is present. "Can be suppressed.
In addition, after the step of forming the Cu—Sn matrix, after the end sealing process for each precursor wire for the purpose of preventing the loss of Sn during the subsequent heat treatment, and after the heat treatment of the end sealing process part The removal process can be eliminated, and the process can be simplified.
In addition, the strength of the material can be improved by the step of forming the Cu—Sn group matrix as compared with the case where each component of Cu, Sn, and Nb is charged in a pure metal state. For this reason, it is strong against external load strain, that is, stranded wire processing or coil formation becomes easy.
[0087]
Furthermore, Sn of the Cu—Sn group matrix diffuses and reacts on the outer periphery of the Nb group filament to form an Nb—Sn group compound layer having a thickness of 20% or less of the diameter of the Nb group filament. Since the Nb—Sn-based compound layer having a thickness of 20% or less of the diameter is formed, strain resistance is improved because such a thickness is strengthened by the unreacted Nb inside. In addition, even if a part of the Nb-Sn group compound layer is cracked or broken due to external load strain, the Nb-Sn group compound layer has a low destruction rate with respect to the entire Nb group filament. Jc characteristic deterioration can be suppressed.
[0088]
Nb according to the present invention Three According to the method for producing a precursor wire of a Sn compound superconductor, bronzing, that is, a Cu-based matrix of the composite and Sn is performed by a pre-heat treatment within a temperature range of 500 to 580 ° C. and a holding time of 60 hours or less. A Cu—Sn group matrix is formed by a diffusion reaction with the base metal material, and Sn in the Cu—Sn group matrix is further diffused and reacted on the outer periphery of the Nb group filament so as to be 20% or less of the diameter of the Nb group filament. A Nb—Sn-based compound layer having a thickness can be formed.
[0089]
Nb according to the present invention Three According to the manufacturing method of the Sn compound superconducting conductor, the Cu-Sn group matrix is formed by the step of forming a Cu-Sn group matrix by the diffusion reaction of the Cu group matrix and the Sn group metal material. Even if heat higher than the melting point of Sn is applied to a part of the precursor wire in the processing step of forming a conductor or coil, the matrix is bronze and pure Sn does not exist. Occurrence can be suppressed. Therefore, normal Nb in the subsequent heat treatment Three The formation reaction of the Sn compound superconductor occurs and the Jc characteristic is not deteriorated. Therefore, heat higher than the melting point of Sn can be applied during the processing step of forming the conductor, that is, stranded wire processing is facilitated.
In addition, after the step of forming the Cu—Sn matrix, after the end sealing process for each precursor wire for the purpose of preventing the loss of Sn during the subsequent heat treatment, and after the heat treatment of the end sealing process part This eliminates the need for the removal process, and simplifies the process.
In addition, the strength of the material can be improved by the step of forming the Cu—Sn group matrix as compared with the case where each component of Cu, Sn, and Nb is charged in a pure metal state. For this reason, it becomes strong with respect to the external load distortion, ie, it becomes easy to do a stranded wire process.
[0090]
Furthermore, the diameter of the Nb-based filament is formed by the step of forming a Nb-Sn-based compound layer having a thickness of 20% or less of the diameter of the Nb-based filament by reacting Sn of the Cu-Sn group matrix on the outer periphery of the Nb-based filament Since the Nb—Sn-based compound layer having a thickness of 20% or less is formed, if it is such a thickness, it is strengthened by the internal unreacted Nb, so that the strain resistance is improved. In addition, even if a part of the Nb-Sn group compound layer is cracked or broken due to external load strain, the Nb-Sn group compound layer has a low destruction rate with respect to the entire Nb group filament. Jc characteristic deterioration can be suppressed. That is, it is strong against external load distortion during the manufacturing process, and Jc characteristic deterioration can be suppressed even when external load distortion is applied.
[0091]
Furthermore, bronzing, that is, the Cu-based matrix of the composite and the Sn-based metal material undergo a diffusion reaction in the temperature range of 500 to 580 ° C. by a preliminary heat treatment that has a holding time of 60 hours or less. An Sn group matrix is formed. Furthermore, Sn in the Cu—Sn group matrix can diffuse and react on the outer periphery of the Nb group filament to form an Nb—Sn group compound layer having a thickness of 20% or less of the diameter of the Nb group filament.
[0092]
Nb according to the present invention Three According to the manufacturing method of the Sn compound superconducting coil, the Cu-Sn group matrix is formed by the step of forming a Cu-Sn group matrix by the diffusion reaction of the Cu group matrix and the Sn group metal material. Alternatively, even if heat exceeding the melting point of Sn is applied to a part of the precursor wire in the process of forming the coil, the matrix is bronzed and there is no pure Sn, so that “shrinkage” occurs due to melting of Sn. Can be suppressed.
For this reason, it is strong against external load strain, that is, it becomes easy to perform stranded wire processing or coil formation.
[0093]
Furthermore, the diameter of the Nb-based filament is formed by the step of forming a Nb-Sn-based compound layer having a thickness of 20% or less of the diameter of the Nb-based filament by reacting Sn of the Cu-Sn group matrix on the outer periphery of the Nb-based filament Since the Nb—Sn-based compound layer having a thickness of 20% or less is formed, if it is such a thickness, it is strengthened by the internal unreacted Nb, so that the strain resistance is improved. Even if a part of the Nb-Sn base compound layer is cracked or broken due to external strain, the ratio of the Nb-Sn base compound layer to the entire Nb base filament is low. Deterioration of characteristics can be suppressed. That is, it is strong against external load distortion during the manufacturing process, and Jc characteristic deterioration can be suppressed even when external load distortion is applied.
[0094]
Furthermore, bronzing, that is, the Cu-based matrix of the composite and the Sn-based metal material undergo a diffusion reaction in the temperature range of 500 to 580 ° C. by a preliminary heat treatment that has a holding time of 60 hours or less. An Sn group matrix is formed. Furthermore, Sn in the Cu—Sn group matrix can diffuse and react on the outer periphery of the Nb group filament to form an Nb—Sn group compound layer having a thickness of 20% or less of the diameter of the Nb group filament.
