Description
The present invention relates to a developing device having a function of stirring a developer in a developing tank, and more particularly to a developing device having a function of detecting a remaining amount of developer remaining in a developing tank.
The developing device needs to be replaced with a new developing device when the developer stored in the developing tank is exhausted. Therefore, the developing device is provided with a developer detection mechanism for detecting the remaining amount of developer stored in the developing tank.
As a technique relating to such a developer detection mechanism, a developer detection mechanism shown in FIG. 8 is known (for example, see Patent Document 1).
This developer detection mechanism is a substantially U-shaped toner that sends developer (hereinafter referred to as “toner”) accumulated in a developing tank (hereinafter referred to as “toner tank”) 200 to a developing roller (not shown). A stirring
A
In the
On the other hand, when the
Further, the time from the entry to the exit of the toner by the
By the way, in many cases, an image printed on a recording sheet is generally concentrated in a central portion rather than an end portion of the recording sheet. For this reason, the toner in the
However, the conventional developer detection mechanism described above merely agitates the toner in the
Therefore, the present inventors have a function as a toner agitating member of the above-described prior art by decentering the weight balance of the agitating and conveying roller that agitates and conveys the toner, and has the ability to convey toner and the ability to agitate. A developing device having a developer detection mechanism with high detection accuracy, which has been combined, has already been proposed (see Patent Document 2).
FIG. 3 is an enlarged schematic cross-sectional view showing the developing device already proposed by the present inventors.
In the developing
FIG. 4 is an explanatory diagram of a developer detection mechanism unit of the developing device having the above-described configuration.
The agitating / conveying

Note that the manner in which the agitating / conveying

<Description of Other Configuration Examples of Developer Detection Mechanism Unit>
6 and 7 are explanatory views showing another configuration example of the developer detection mechanism unit of the developing device already proposed by the present inventors.
The developer detecting mechanism has a crank shape in which a stainless shaft (rod-like weight member) 101 having an outer diameter of 4 mm is eccentrically deviated by 6 mm from the drive rotation center R and fixedly supported by the
Two
Further, if the effective length of the
As described above, since the
As described above, the present inventors have proposed a developer detection mechanism having a structure shown in FIGS. 4 and 6 in order to increase the detection accuracy of the remaining amount of developer.
As shown in FIG. 3, the developer detection mechanism is disposed in the vicinity of the upper portion of the
In this regard, the present inventors have determined how close the
The present invention has been devised to solve such a new problem, and the object thereof is even when the agitating / conveying roller and the coil spring of the developer detecting mechanism are arranged close to the toner supply roller. Another object of the present invention is to provide a developing device that can uniformly disperse toner and prevent the occurrence of uneven image density.
The developing device of the present invention includes an agitating and conveying member that agitates and conveys the developer that is eccentrically distributed with respect to the rotation center, and a drive transmission member that rotationally drives the agitating and conveying member. Is disposed in the vicinity of the developer supply roller, and a uniformizing member for uniformizing the developer is disposed in a space between the developer supply roller and the stirring and conveying member. . In this case, the developing device of the present invention further includes a rotation detector that detects the rotation state of the agitating and conveying member, and detects the remaining amount of developer based on the rotation state detected by the rotation detector. There may be.
Here, the eccentric weight distribution is made by a rod-like weight member arranged and fixed eccentrically with respect to the rotating shaft, and the stirring and conveying member is made of a spiral member having an inner diameter larger than the outer diameter of the weight member. The helical member may be rotatably inserted into the weight member. Specifically, the spiral member can use a coil spring.
According to the developing device having such a configuration, when the toner supply roller and the agitating / conveying member are arranged close to each other due to the miniaturization of the device or the like, image density unevenness occurs at the helical pitch of the coil spring, but the uniformity is achieved. By arranging the members, density unevenness can be prevented.
The homogenizing member has one end fixedly supported on the inner wall of the developing tank on the upstream side in the roller rotation direction of the developer supply roller, and on the downstream side in the roller rotation direction. The other end of is a free end. In this way, by supporting and fixing the equalizing member in a cantilevered manner, the other end portion can freely swing in the vertical direction, so that a more stable equalizing operation is possible.
The other end, which is the free end of the uniformizing member, is on a straight line connecting the roller rotation center of the developer supply roller and the drive rotation center of the agitating / conveying member, or downstream in the roller rotation direction from the straight line. It is preferable to provide it so as to be located on the side. In this way, by providing the other end portion of the homogenizing member so as to slightly extend downstream in the roller rotation direction, a more stable homogenizing operation can be performed. The uniformizing member is preferably an elastic film, and in this case, the amount of protrusion of the other end portion to the downstream side is preferably about 2 mm. In addition, by forming the homogenizing member with an elastic film, the film can be deformed according to the toner pressure, preventing toner fusion due to partial abnormal increase in toner pressure and non-uniform toner charge amount. can do. Specifically, polyethylene terephthalate is suitable as the elastic film.
Moreover, you may comprise so that the surface of the said homogenization member may have mold release property. Specifically, toner fusion to the surface of the homogenizing member can be prevented by coating the surface of the homogenizing member with a PTFE film or a fluororesin coat, or applying nickel-PTFE composite plating.
In the developing device of the present invention, the effect of the uniformizing member is more effectively exhibited by applying to the structure in which the agitating and conveying member is disposed above the developer supply roller. That is, in the configuration in which the agitation transport member is disposed above the developer supply roller, image unevenness is more likely to occur than in the configuration in which the toner supply roller and the agitation transport member are arranged horizontally. Therefore, by using the homogenizing member of the present invention for such an arrangement in the vertical direction, the function and effect of the homogenizing member is more remarkably exhibited.
The developing device of the present invention is more effective when applied to a developing device in which a replenishing roller for controlling the replenishment amount of the developer is not provided in the developing tank. Further, the developing device of the present invention is more effective when the developer is a non-magnetic one component. In a two-component developer including a carrier, the developer is prevented from being blocked by the carrier. Therefore, in the developing device of the present invention, when the developer is a non-magnetic one component, the effect of the uniformizing member is more effectively exhibited. Will be.
According to the developing device of the present invention, even when image density unevenness occurs due to the influence of the helical pitch of the coil spring by arranging the toner supply roller and the stirring and conveying member close to each other due to the miniaturization of the device, etc. By arranging the uniformizing member, it is possible to prevent the occurrence of density unevenness.
Hereinafter, an image forming apparatus including a developing device according to an embodiment of the present invention will be described with reference to the drawings.

Further, the copying
The
The conveyance
Further, the
That is, the
The fixing unit 12 includes a
Further, the

-Description of the developing device according to the present invention-
FIG. 2 is an enlarged schematic sectional view showing the developing
The basic part of the developing
In the above-described configuration, in this embodiment, a uniformizing member 201 (in FIG. 2) that uniformizes the toner in the space S between the
The uniformizing
One end portion 201 a of the uniformizing
In this case, the
Specifically, the uniformizing
Further, the surface of the homogenizing
In the present exemplary embodiment, the effect is further exhibited by applying to a developing device in which the replenishment roller for controlling the toner replenishment amount is not provided in the developing
In this embodiment, the
Further, the spring length L2 of the
Furthermore, both ends 102a, 102b, 103a, 103b of the coil springs 102, 103 are tightly wound to prevent the
Furthermore, a PET film having a clearance of 1.6 mm is used with the
