【0001】
β={(Vmax(1)/Vmax(R))-(Tmax(1)-25)×γ}-{Vmax(n)/Vmax(R))-(Tmax(n)-25)×γ}…(式2)。
【0043】

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
The present invention relates to a battery remaining capacity display device, and more particularly, to a battery remaining capacity display device that is suitable for easily and visually recognizing deterioration of a secondary battery.
[0002]
[Prior art]
Since a secondary battery used as a power source for an electric vehicle or the like cannot exhibit sufficient power performance when the battery is exhausted, it is desirable to provide a remaining capacity display device so that the remaining capacity of the battery can be easily recognized. For example, Japanese Patent Application Laid-Open No. 2001-126775 discloses a battery status display device for an electric vehicle that displays the remaining battery capacity in multiple stages according to the number of lighting LEDs.
[0003]
[Problems to be solved by the invention]
The absolute usable capacity of the secondary battery gradually deteriorates and decreases due to repeated charging and discharging. In the conventional remaining capacity display device, the fully charged state is not displayed even immediately after charging in the remaining capacity display of the deteriorated battery, or the usable capacity is only displayed temporarily by the user performing a predetermined operation. It was.
[0004]
Therefore, it is desirable to make it easy to always recognize battery deterioration instead of such temporary recognition.
[0005]
In view of the above problems, an object of the present invention is to provide a battery remaining capacity display device capable of easily recognizing deterioration of a battery without increasing incidental facilities.
[0006]
[Means for Solving the Problems]
In order to achieve the above object, the present invention provides a battery remaining capacity display device that displays the remaining battery capacity according to the position on the display scale, wherein the display scale is reduced according to the deterioration of the battery. Has the first feature.
[0007]
In addition, the present invention has a second feature in that the display scale is configured such that the low remaining capacity side is reduced in accordance with the deterioration of the battery. Further, according to a third aspect of the present invention, the display scale has a warning area with a low remaining capacity, and the display scale is reduced by moving the warning area in accordance with the amount of deterioration of the battery. There are features.
[0008]
According to the first to third features, the deterioration of the battery can always be visually recognized by the change of the display scale. According to the second feature, as the battery is deteriorated, the low remaining capacity side of the display scale is changed so that the display scale is raised, so that the meaning of the deterioration can be easily intuitively recognized visually. be able to.
[0009]
Further, according to the third feature, while maintaining the function of recognizing the low remaining capacity for the user while leaving the warning area, the display scale is reduced by moving the warning area, and the recognition function for the deterioration is added. Can do.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION
Hereinafter, an embodiment of the present invention will be described with reference to the drawings. FIG. 1 is a block diagram showing a system configuration of an electric vehicle including a secondary battery (hereinafter referred to as “battery”) and a charger thereof. In the figure, the

[0014]
The charge control will be described in detail with reference to a flowchart. FIG. 2 is a flowchart showing the processing of the first main part of normal charging. Steps S101 to S108 are pre-charging temperature determination processing. In step S <b> 101, “charging” is displayed on the
[0015]
If the difference between the environmental temperature TA0 and the battery temperature TB0 is equal to or lower than the charging start temperature ΔTOK, the process proceeds to step S109. In step S109, it is determined whether the value of the counter N2 is greater than or equal to the reference value Nref. Unlike the counter N1 that counts the total number of times the
[0016]
If the value of the counter N2 is greater than or equal to the reference value Nref, the process proceeds to step S121 (FIG. 4). From step S121, the refresh charging process is started. On the other hand, if the value of the counter N2 is less than the reference value Nref, the process proceeds from step S109 to step S113 (FIG. 3), and the charging procedure is started. In this way, the normal charging is performed a predetermined number of times or more, and the refresh charging is selected when there is a gap from the previous refresh charging. The reference value Nref is less than 20 times, preferably 10 times. The reason will be described later with reference to FIG.
[0017]
The charging mode is not limited to the value selected by the counter N2, but can be modified. For example, a random number is generated, and it is determined whether or not the generated random number Nran matches the reference value Nref. When it is desired to perform refresh charging once every 10 times of normal charging, random numbers of 0 to 9 are generated. The reference value Nref is determined as one of 0-9. If the generated random number Nran matches the reference value Nref by this setting, the process proceeds to step S121 (FIG. 4). Thus, refresh charging is selected approximately every 10 times.
[0018]
If the difference between the environmental temperature TA0 and the battery temperature TB0 is not lower than the charging start temperature ΔTOK, the process proceeds to step S107. In step S107, it is determined whether or not an “urgent charge” instruction has been issued. “Hurry-up charge” is a special operation mode that stops charging at a lower charge than the standard charge less than the full charge set to stop charging at normal charge. Can respond to requests. For example, a “rush charge switch” is provided in the
[0019]
The amount of charge that serves as a determination criterion for stopping charging by “rush charge” is determined by, for example, the rate of temperature increase of the
[0020]
If “Hurry Charging” is selected, step S107 becomes affirmative and the process proceeds to step S110. In step S110, it is determined whether the value of the counter N2 that counts the number of times of charging is equal to or greater than a reference value Nref. If the value of the counter N2 is less than the reference value Nref, the process proceeds from step S110 to step S112 (FIG. 3), and charging is started. If the value of the counter N is equal to or greater than the reference value Nref, the process proceeds to step S111, and the
[0021]
If the determination in step S107 is negative, that is, if “rush charge” is not selected, the process proceeds to step S108. In step S108, it is determined whether or not the difference between the environmental temperature TA0 and the battery temperature TB0 is equal to or less than a preset charging start temperature difference ΔTOK. If step S108 is negative, the determination in step S108 is continued with a predetermined waiting time. If step S108 is positive, the process proceeds to step S109.
[0022]
FIG. 3 is a flowchart showing the processing of the second main part of normal charging. In step S113, the cutoff voltage Vc is calculated using the calculation formula (Formula 1). Vc = V0− (TA0-25) × α + β (Formula 1). The calculation formula for the cut-off voltage will be described later. In step S114, charging is started. In normal charging, charging is performed by supplying a constant charging current, for example, a current of 1.6 amperes.
[0023]
In step S115, it is determined whether or not the battery voltage V is equal to or higher than the cut-off voltage Vc. If the battery voltage V is equal to or higher than the cut-off voltage, it is determined that a predetermined amount with respect to full charge, for example, 97% of the charge amount is charged, so charging is stopped in step S116. In step S117, the value of the counter N2 is incremented. If step S109 and step S110 are determined by random numbers, step S117 can be deleted. Subsequently, in step S118, “end of charge” is displayed on the
[0024]
If step S115 is negative, that is, if it is determined that the charge amount has not reached the predetermined value, the process proceeds to step S119, where the difference between the environmental temperature TA0 and the battery temperature TB0 is a preset charge start temperature difference. It is determined whether or not ΔTOK or less. If the difference between the environmental temperature TA0 and the battery temperature TB0 is equal to or smaller than the charging start temperature difference ΔTOK, the determination is continued in step S115, but if the difference between the environmental temperature TA0 and the battery temperature TB0 is equal to or larger than the charging start temperature difference ΔTOK, the process proceeds to step S120. Then, it is determined whether or not the battery temperature change amount ΔT / Δt is a predetermined value, for example, 1 ° C. or more per minute. When the battery temperature reaches 90 to 95% of full charge, the rate of temperature increase suddenly increases. Thus, it is possible to determine whether or not the charge amount has reached about 90% or more depending on whether or not the temperature change rate is not less than a predetermined value. If step S120 is affirmative, it is determined that a charge amount commensurate with “hurry charge” has been obtained, the process proceeds to step S116, and charging is stopped.
[0025]
Instead of judging whether or not the charge amount corresponding to “hurry charge” has been obtained, the charge cut-off voltage is set in two stages, and the lower one of them is set. A cut-off voltage for determining whether to end “rush charge” can be used, and a higher voltage can be used as a cut-off voltage for determining completion of normal charge other than “rush charge”.
[0026]
Next, the refresh charging process will be described. FIG. 4 is a flowchart showing the processing of the first main part of refresh charging. In step S121, the
[0027]
If step S122 is positive, the process proceeds to step S123 to start additional discharge, that is, “refresh discharge”. In step S124, it is determined whether or not the battery voltage V is equal to or lower than a predetermined discharge cutoff voltage Vd. If the battery voltage V is equal to or lower than the discharge cut-off voltage Vd, the process proceeds to step S125 to determine whether the battery temperature TB0 is equal to or lower than Tmax. This is because the battery temperature rises due to the discharge, so that it waits for the battery temperature to fall to a predetermined charging start temperature, and then shifts to charging.
[0028]
If it is determined that the battery temperature has decreased, the process proceeds to step S126, and the counter N3 is reset to "1". The counter N3 is provided to determine the number of refresh charges after refresh discharge.
[0029]
If step S122 is negative, the process proceeds to step S127, and it is determined whether or not the value of the counter N3 is equal to or less than the discharge reference counter Ndis. If this determination is negative, the process proceeds to step S123. That is, if the refresh discharge is not performed for the number of times exceeding the predetermined number Ndis, the refresh discharge is performed even when the remaining capacity C of the
[0030]
If step S127 is positive, the counter N3 is incremented in step S128. When the refresh discharge is completed, the capacity indication data “0” is output in order to correct the zero display of the remaining capacity on the remaining
[0031]
FIG. 5 is a flowchart of the second main part of the refresh discharge. Subsequent to step S128 of FIG. 4, the process proceeds to step S129 of FIG. 5, and the cut-off voltage Vc is calculated using
[0032]
In step S134, it is determined whether or not the voltage change Vdrp of the

In step S137, the battery deterioration coefficient β of the cutoff voltage is calculated. This is because, since the
[0035]
FIG. 6 is a diagram showing changes in the battery voltage V and the battery temperature TB1 as the charging time elapses during refresh charging, and shows the case where the above-described two-stage charging is performed and the case where charging is performed with a constant current. In the figure, the battery voltage V at the time of two-stage charging is indicated by a line V (2), and the battery voltage V at the time of one-stage charging is indicated by a line V (1). The battery temperature TB1 at the time of two-stage charging is indicated by a line T (2), and the battery temperature TB1 at the time of one-stage charging is indicated by a line T (1).
[0036]
As shown in the figure, in the two-stage charging, charging is performed with a high current (2.5 amperes) in the first stage, so that a charge amount close to full charge (97%) can be reached in a relatively short time. Therefore, even if it transfers to the charge by low current (1.0 ampere) after that, the charge exceeding full charge can be performed in a short time even in total.
[0037]
If charging is performed consistently at the same current (1.6 amperes) as normal charging as in one-stage charging, the total charging time is significantly longer than in the case of two-stage charging. Furthermore, there is a difference of ΔT in the battery temperature TB1 between the one-stage charge that takes a long time and the two-stage charge that has a short charge time.
[0038]
According to such two-stage charging, charging is completed in a short time that is not different from normal charging even when refresh charging exceeding full charging is performed. Therefore, the user who is not conscious of normal charging and refresh charging does not cause discomfort due to the difference in charging time. Further, since the degree of increase in the battery temperature TB1 is small, the durability of the battery is also improved.
[0039]
FIG. 7 is a diagram showing the relationship between the number of normal charges and the change in charge amount. In the figure, the amount of charge increases on the initial charge characteristic curve until the number of times of charging is 10, so that a large amount of charge is obtained (line A). However, as the number of times of charging increases, the charging characteristics change, and even when the battery voltage V corresponds to full charge, a large charge amount cannot be obtained as in the initial state. As shown in line B, the practical charge amount is 5Ah up to 20 times, but when the charge number exceeds 20 and 25 times (line C), the charge amount drops to 4.7Ah. It is not preferable for practical use. In this embodiment, since the comparison reference value Nref between the random number Nran and the counter N2 is “10”, even if “hurry charge” is frequently performed, at least one out of 10 charging times is refreshed. Charging is performed.
[0040]
FIG. 8 is a diagram showing the relationship between the environmental temperature TA0 and the charging end voltage V1. As shown in this figure, the charge end voltage V1 varies depending on the environmental temperature TA0. That is, the charge end voltage decreases as the environmental temperature TA0 increases. Therefore, the cut-off voltage Vc, which is a criterion for determining whether or not to end the charging, is preferably changed according to the environmental temperature, similarly to the charging end voltage V1.
[0041]
In FIG. 8, the charging end voltage when the environmental temperature is 25 ° C. is set as a reference voltage V0. The reference voltage V0 is 29.6V, for example. When the environmental temperature deviates from 25 ° C., the charging end voltage V1 changes in proportion to the deviation amount. Therefore, the cut-off voltage Vc corresponding to the environmental temperature TA0 is obtained by adding a correction coefficient α (for example, 0.01) to the difference between the reference temperature V0 and the reference

【The invention's effect】
As is apparent from the above description, according to the first to third aspects of the present invention, it is possible to visually recognize the deterioration of the battery without providing an external diagnostic device. In particular, according to the second and third aspects of the present invention, the deterioration can be recognized by the change of the display scale on the low remaining capacity side, so that the visually recognized remaining capacity can be matched with the actual remaining capacity. The user can sensuously recognize the significance of deterioration. Therefore, the remaining capacity display function is further enhanced. According to the third aspect of the present invention, it is possible to add a display function for battery deterioration while leaving the function of the low remaining capacity warning area.
