Claims (6)
- 二次電池を定電流で充電しながら、前記二次電池の端子電圧を所定の第1設定電圧と比較し、
前記端子電圧が前記第1設定電圧以上になったとき、前記二次電池を所定の第1設定時間だけ充電した後充電を休止するパルス充電を行い、
前記パルス充電における充電の休止中に、休止開始からの経過時間Anと該経過時間Anにおける前記端子電圧Bnとを複数回測定するとともに、前記端子電圧Bnを所定の第2設定電圧と比較し、前記端子電圧Bnが前記第2設定電圧以下である場合には再び前記パルス充電を行い、他方、前記端子電圧Bnが前記第2設定電圧よりも大きく、且つ、前記経過時間Anが所定の第2設定時間に達した場合には、該第2設定電圧以下に下降するか否かが判明するまで休止を続けることなく、前記経過時間An及び前記端子電圧Bnの測定結果に基づいて、前記端子電圧が前記第2設定電圧以下に下降するか否かを推定し、
前記第2設定電圧以下に下降すると推定された場合には前記パルス充電と前記端子電圧の推定とを繰り返し、
前記第2設定電圧以下に下降しないと推定された場合には充電を終了する
ことを特徴とする二次電池の充電方法。 - 請求項2に記載の二次電池の充電方法において、
前記第3設定時間が無限大の時間であることを特徴とする二次電池の充電方法。 - 請求項2または3に記載の二次電池の充電方法において、
前記端子電圧Bnの計算値が、パルスN個分(Nは2以上の整数)のパルス充電の間連続して第2設定電圧よりも大きくなるまで、前記パルス充電と前記端子電圧Bnの計算とを繰り返し、
前記端子電圧Bnの計算値が、前記パルスN個分のパルス充電の間連続して第2設定電圧よりも大きくなった場合に、充電を終了する
ことを特徴とする二次電池の充電方法。 - 請求項1乃至4のいずれかに記載の二次電池の充電方法において、
複数個の二次電池を接続した電池パックを充電する場合、前記複数個の二次電池の端子電圧をそれぞれ測定し、そのうちの最も高い端子電圧を前記第1設定電圧,前記第2設定電圧と比較する
ことを特徴とする二次電池の充電方法。 - 二次電池を充電するための充電手段と、
前記二次電池の端子電圧を検出する電圧検出手段と、
前記二次電池の充電を制御する制御手段と
を備え、
前記制御手段は、
前記充電手段を用いて前記二次電池を定電流で充電しながら、前記電圧検出手段の検出結果を用いて前記二次電池の端子電圧を所定の第1設定電圧と比較する処理と、
前記端子電圧が前記第1設定電圧以上になったとき、前記充電手段を用いて所定の第1設定時間だけ前記二次電池を充電した後充電を休止するパルス充電を行う処理と、
前記パルス充電における充電の休止中に、前記電圧検出手段の検出結果を用いて、休止開始からの経過時間Anと該経過時間Anにおける前記端子電圧Bnとを複数回測定するとともに、前記端子電圧Bnを所定の第2設定電圧と比較し、前記端子電圧Bnが前記第2設定電圧以下である場合には再び前記パルス充電を行い、他方、前記端子電圧Bnが前記第2設定電圧よりも大きく、且つ、前記経過時間Anが所定の第2設定時間に達した場合には、該第2設定電圧以下に下降するか否かが判明するまで休止を続けることなく、前記経過時間An及び前記端子電圧Bnの測定結果に基づいて、前記端子電圧が前記第2設定電圧以下に下降するか否かを推定する処理と、
前記第2設定電圧以下に下降すると推定された場合には前記パルス充電と前記端子電圧の推定とを繰り返し、前記第2設定電圧以下に下降しないと推定された場合には充電を終了する処理と
を行うことを特徴とする二次電池の充電装置。
