Description

[0001]
The present invention relates to a roll core holder, and more particularly to a disposable handle adapted to be inserted into the open end of a film dispensing roll.
[Background]
[0002]
The roll core is made of compressed paper stock or plastic. This is used to roll up plastic, metal and paper sheets into rolls. These sheet materials are then fed from a roll. This type of roll is supported on a core chuck or similar tool, and the rolled article is withdrawn from the roll core by rotating the core on the core chuck. This can be manual or machine operation. In some cases, the rolled article is supplied simply by supporting the roll core and pulling the rolled sheet-like article from the roll core. This is difficult and hot because the roll slips in the hand holding the core.
[0003]
The following documents teach that manual support can be performed using a core in the feeding process, which is the current state of the art.
[0004]
Parry U.S. Pat. No. 4,179,081 discloses an improved device for manual use of a plastic stretch film packaged and secured to a material or item packaged and secured, or shipped and transported as a unit. To do. This device consists of a stretched core for supplying a plastic stretch film and a pair of tubular grip means for the stretched core. The grip means acts as a manual means for adjusting the speed of withdrawal of the plastic stretch film and as a manual means for applying tension to the film during application to the substance or item.
[0005]
Parry U.S. Pat. No. 4,248,392 discloses an improved apparatus for the use of a plastic stretch film packaged and secured to a material or item packaged and secured as a unit or to shipping and transport means. This device consists of a pair of insertable adapters to the ends of a cylindrical core holding a plastic stretch film and a pair of tubular grip means for the insertable adapters. This grip means acts as a manual means for adjusting the speed of withdrawal of the plastic stretch film and as a manual means for applying tension to the film during application to the substance or item. This device can be used for manual or mechanical application to film material. A brake shoe equivalent to the gripping means can be used for mechanical applications.
[0006]
Parry U.S. Pat. No. 4,722,493 discloses a holder for the supply of stretchable film from a roll comprising a cylindrical body and a shaft rotatably supported on the body. A flexible grip with internal ribs covers the body and shaft, and by applying hand force to the grip, the rotation of the shaft can be braked, thereby adjusting the film tension.
[0007]
U.S. Pat. No. 4,600,163 to Hummel et al. Discloses a controlled manual device for pulling flexible material wound on a roll. This is not suitable for supporting by hand so that it can be directly rotated by a human finger.
[0008]
Saraisky U.S. Pat. No. 4,372,500 discloses an insert for the use of web feeding means, which had the following drawbacks.
(A) The insert must have a diameter that is suitable for rotational insertion into each of the end openings of the roll core. Even if the inner diameter of the opening at the end of the roll core is only slightly smaller than the outer diameter of the insert, the insert is connected to the two ends of the roll core. Tori I can't find it.
(B) As shown in FIG. 6 of the literature, when the inserts are made in a tapered configuration, one fits inside the other, making it suitable for inserting roll cores with various inner diameters, The insert fits into the end opening of the roll core, and if the user pushes too hard inward while supporting the web roll, it interferes with the rotation of the web roll relative to the insert. At this moment, the heavy web roll and insert rotate relative to the supporting user's hand, heating and damaging the user's fingers.
(C) Theoretically speaking, the user supports the insert by hand by inserting the user's finger into the two hollow cavities of each of the two inserts. However, as shown in FIG. 5 of the literature, the three undulations 14b-1 to 14b-3 located in the length direction spatially around the insert protrude slightly outward, so that the wall of the insert Will come into contact with the inner surface of the roll core. In particular, when the user's finger is pushed outward against the wall of the insert, the user's finger is heated by friction between the insert and the roll core.
[0009]
In view of the above, the prior art discloses a roll core holder, but does not disclose a relatively thin cylindrical handle held at either end within the roll core by a compression elastic material bias. Furthermore, the roll core holder is used as a handle, and the roll is directly inserted by the user's finger inserted in the holder. support If so, the prior art does not suggest how to prevent the user's finger from getting hot due to direct frictional contact between the tubular wall of the holder and the inner surface of the roll core. The present invention satisfies these requirements and exhibits the effects described below.
[0010]
DISCLOSURE OF THE INVENTION
[Means for solving the problems]
The present invention discloses structures and uses that achieve the following objectives.
The main object of the present invention is to provide a disposable handle for a roll core, which has an effect that has not been disclosed in the above-mentioned known literature.
Another object of the present invention is to provide a roll core handle that can be discarded after use and is very inexpensive and effective in production.
Another object of the present invention is to provide a disposable roll core handle that can be manufactured at low cost.
Another object of the present invention is to provide a disposable roll core handle that can be pushed into the roll core and provide support while the roll core rotates.
Another object of the present invention is to provide a disposable roll core handle that can be made from a flat piece, can be wrapped around a tubular object for use by a user as a handle, and can directly support a film roll by hand. That is.
Another object of the present invention is to provide a pair of disposable roll core handles that provide a smoother rotation between the roll core and the handle with little friction and heat generated between them. .
Another object of the present invention is a disposable roll core handle having an inner finger-holding portion having substantial contact with the inner surface of the roll core for supporting a user's finger thereon. Thus, it is to provide a structure that prevents heat from being directly transmitted to the other user and the finger.
[0011]
Another object of the present invention is a handle for a disposable roll core, wherein the holder body is attached so as to have a spring effect, absorbs pressure and vibration generated during the rotation of the film roll, and passes through the pair of disposable handles. It provides something that avoids undesired injury of the fingers of the user's hand holding it.
It is another object of the present invention to provide a disposable roll core handle that can fit into various inner diameter roll cores, for example from 2.989 inches to 3.060 inches.
Another object of the present invention is a disposable roll core handle that prevents the flange of the handle from rubbing or scratching the sides of each end of the film roll, which may interfere with the rotation of the film roll. Is to provide things.
Another object of the present invention is to provide a handle for a disposable roll core that includes a reinforcing arrangement in both the flange and the holder body, with a minimum handle thickness to reduce manufacturing costs as much as possible. That is.
[0012]
To achieve the above objectives, the present invention provides a pair of low cost handles with a rolled product that is shipped without increasing the cost of the commercial product.
The present invention provides a single or pair of disposable handles. For short length roll cores, a single handle can be used. For long roll cores, a pair of handles is required. Each handle has a holder body having a tubular side wall, which is spatially spaced around the holder body and is arranged with a plurality of longitudinally arranged side wall arched segments and two arches. A plurality of stiffening ribs extending inward in the longitudinal direction between the segment segments. The holder body is applied to a compressive constraint when inserted at the end of the roll core, providing an outward spring bias deflection to hold the roll core firmly from the inside . The two handles are then placed at the two ends of the roll core, respectively. The arcuate segment can be oriented axially or circumferentially. Stiffening ribs provided on the handle body of the handle that are spatially separated and axially oriented are used to apply finger force to prevent the handle from rotating with the roll core .
The roll core is supported by one or two handles so that film is fed from the film roll as the film roll rotates around a stationary handle.
Other aspects and advantages of the present invention will become apparent from the following detailed description and figures, which illustrate, by way of example, the principles of the invention.
