上記充電部保護カバー(以下、単に保護カバーという。)として、従前から充電部を前方から覆う平板状のものが知られている。しかし、平板状の保護カバーは充電部の側方が開放していて保護作用が十分ではないため、充電部を側方からも覆うように箱状に形成した保護カバーが提案されている(特開平6−36663号公報参照)。

【発明が解決しようとする課題】
充電部を側方からも覆うようにした保護カバーは、平板状のものに比べて保護作用の面で優れているが、そのような箱形の保護カバーは成形するのに大型の樹脂成形機を必要とし、特に大型の電磁接触器には容易に対応できないという問題があった。
そこで、この発明の課題は、充電部を側方からも覆うようにした箱形の保護カバーの成形を容易にすることにある。

【課題を解決するための手段】
上記課題を解決するために、この発明は、樹脂成形品からなり、電磁接触器の充電部を前方側から覆う前部板と、前記充電部を側方側から覆う側板とを有する電磁接触器の充電部保護カバーにおいて、前記充電保護カバーを前記前部板と前記側板とに分離して構成し、前記前部板を、前記電磁接触器の主端子の充電部を前面側から覆うカバー板と、このカバー板の両側にこれと一体に直角に形成された1対の側壁とで構成し、かつ前記側壁に前記側板を差し込んで結合するための結合部を設け、前記側板をこの側壁の結合部に差し込んで前記前部板に結合し、この前記前部板に結合した側板により前記電磁接触器の側面に設けられた補助端子の充電部を側面から覆うようにするものとする(請求項1)。この請求項1によれば、保護カバーの前部板と側板とが分離して構成されるので、成形金型が小型化され、それに伴って小型の成形機での成形が可能になる。

【発明の実施の形態】
図1はこの発明の実施の形態を示す分解斜視図である。図1において、取り付け姿勢で示した3相電磁接触器1の上下部には、各相の電源側主端子2及び負荷側主端子3がそれぞれ配置され、また左右側面には補助端子4(図1では右側のみ見えている。)が配置されている。これら主端子2,3及び補助端子4並びにこれらに接続される図示しない配線の接続端部が充電部となる。主端子2,3にはそれぞれ端子ねじ5が設けられ、この端子ねじ5は各主端子2,3をその裏面側から図示しない穴を介して貫通し、ナット6により締め付けられている。

一方、7は樹脂成形品からなる電源側の保護カバーで、電磁接触器1の充電部を前方側(図1の左方側)から覆う前部板8と、充電部を側方側から覆う左右一対の側板9,9とに分離して構成されている。前部板8は電源側主端子2と対向するカバー板8aの裏側に電源側主端子2の相間に位置する隔壁8bが一体形成され、また両側に隔壁8bと同じ高さの左右一対の側壁8cが一端が図1の下方に突き出るように門形状に一体形成されている。側壁8cの前後(図1の上下)端部には側板9が挿入される一対の溝8dが設けられ、またその中間に位置して低い円柱状の突起8eが設けられている。一方、側板9は方形の板体で、突起8eに対応して、これを嵌合させる円形の穴9aが設けられている。
