Abstract
Description
【0001】

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
The present invention relates to a vehicle headlamp including a leveling device and a mechanically driven beam switching device.
[0002]
[Prior art]
The vehicle headlamp is configured to irradiate light from a light source forward by a reflection optical system to form a light distribution pattern of a traveling beam or a passing beam. Although it is common to use different light sources for the traveling beam and the passing beam, a vehicular headlamp using a single light source is also known. In particular, in a two-lamp headlamp using a discharge bulb, such a configuration is often unavoidable.
[0003]
Such a vehicle headlamp is configured to switch between a traveling beam and a passing beam by displacing an optical member constituting a part of the reflection optical system, and a beam switching device therefor It has.
[0004]
Further, in a vehicle headlamp, a leveling device is often provided in order to prevent glare from being given to other vehicle drivers. This leveling device is configured to irradiate the passing beam in the correct direction by changing and controlling the irradiation direction of the passing beam in the vertical direction according to the change in the posture of the vehicle body. In particular, a vehicle headlamp using a discharge bulb has a very large power as compared with a vehicle headlamp using a halogen bulb or the like. Therefore, it is highly necessary to provide the leveling device.
[0005]
[Problems to be solved by the invention]
In the vehicle headlamp provided with the beam switching device that performs beam switching by the mechanical drive as described above, when the leveling device is provided, an actuator is required for each of the beam switching device and the leveling device. It becomes. For example, in the vehicle headlamp shown in FIG. 6, a
[0006]
The present invention has been made in view of such circumstances, and in a vehicle headlamp provided with a leveling device and a mechanically driven beam switching device, leveling and beam switching are performed with an inexpensive configuration. An object of the present invention is to provide a vehicle headlamp that can be used.
[0007]
[Means for Solving the Problems]
The present invention achieves the above-mentioned object by performing beam switching using an actuator of a leveling device.
[0008]
That is, the vehicle headlamp according to the present invention is
A reflective optical system that irradiates the light from the light source forward as a predetermined beam, and a reflector that constitutes the reflective optical system is tilted in the vertical direction, so that the irradiation direction of the beam is in the vertical direction according to the change in the posture of the vehicle body. In a vehicle headlamp, comprising: a leveling device that changes to a beam switching device that selectively switches the beam to a traveling beam or a passing beam by mechanical drive,
The beam switching device is configured to switch the beam by driving an actuator of the leveling device and tilting the reflector in a vertical direction by a predetermined angle ;
A part of the reflector is composed of a sub-reflector supported so as to be rotatable in the vertical direction with respect to the reflector.
The sub-reflector is configured to rotate upward relative to the reflector when the reflector is tilted upward;
The upward relative rotation of the sub-reflector is configured to start when the reflector has a predetermined upward inclination angle;
The reflector is housed in the lamp body,
The lamp body is provided with a pin projecting toward the reflector, and the sub reflector is provided with a pin receiving portion facing the pin,
The pin is configured to abut against the pin receiving portion and relatively rotate the sub-reflector upward when the reflector becomes equal to or greater than the predetermined upward inclination angle. is there.
[0009]
The “light source” is not limited to a specific type of light source, and for example, an incandescent bulb filament, a discharge light emitting portion of a discharge bulb, and the like can be employed.
[0010]
The “mechanical drive” means that the entire reflection optical system or a part thereof is displaced.
[0011]
The “predetermined angle” is not particularly limited as long as it is a value that can exhibit the beam functions of the traveling beam and the passing beam by tilting up and down by the predetermined angle.
[0012]
[Effects of the invention]
As shown in the above configuration, the vehicle headlamp according to the present invention includes a leveling device and a mechanically driven beam switching device. The beam switching device drives an actuator of the leveling device. Since the beam switching is performed by tilting the reflector in the vertical direction by a predetermined angle, the leveling actuator can also be used as the beam switching actuator.
[0013]
Therefore, according to the present invention, in a vehicle headlamp including a leveling device and a mechanically driven beam switching device, beam switching and leveling can be performed with an inexpensive configuration.
[0014]
In the present invention, a part of the reflector is composed of a sub-reflector supported so as to be rotatable in the vertical direction with respect to the reflector, and the sub-reflector tilts the reflector upward. Since it is configured to rotate upward relative to the reflector, the following operational effects can be obtained.
[0015]
That is, in general, the light distribution pattern of the passing beam is formed as a clear light / dark boundary line in order to ensure better forward visibility while preventing glare. When the light beam is used as a traveling beam light distribution pattern as it is, the area above the light / dark boundary line becomes very dark, so that the visibility to an overhead sign or the like ahead is insufficient. Therefore, if the sub-reflector that constitutes a part of the reflector is rotated upward relative to the reflector when the reflector is tilted upward, the light / dark boundary line is blurred and the upward irradiation light is secured. Thus, it is possible to sufficiently ensure the visibility of the front overhead sign or the like.
[0016]
At that time, if the sub-reflector rotates relative to the entire leveling angle range, for example, the vehicle body tilts forward as when sudden braking is applied, and the leveling device causes the reflector to tilt upward. When this occurs, the sub-reflector also rotates upward relative to the reflector, causing the bright / dark boundary line to be blurred and causing glare. In that regard, in the present invention, the upward relative rotation of the sub-reflector is started when the reflector reaches a predetermined upward inclination angle. Therefore, even if leveling is performed in the low beam. While a light distribution pattern having a clear light / dark boundary line can be maintained, a light distribution pattern in which the light / dark boundary line is blurred can be obtained when switching to a traveling beam.
[0017]
Further, in the present invention, the lamp body that accommodates the reflector is provided with a pin that protrudes toward the reflector, and the sub reflector is provided with a pin receiving portion that faces the pin. When the angle exceeds a predetermined upward inclination angle, the pin abuts against the pin receiving portion and the sub reflector is relatively rotated upward, so that the sub reflector behavior can be obtained with a relatively simple configuration. be able to.
[0018]
As described above, the “light source” is not limited to a specific type of light source. However, when the light source is a discharge light emitting part of a discharge bulb, the leveling is performed due to the large power. Since it is highly necessary to provide a device, it is effective to adopt the configuration of the present invention. In particular, in a two-lamp type headlamp equipped with a discharge bulb, it is often necessary to employ a mechanically driven beam switching device. Therefore, it is more effective to employ the configuration of the present invention. .
[0019]
The “predetermined upward inclination angle” is preferably set to a value substantially the same as the maximum upward adjustment angle of the reflector during leveling. Specifically, for example, it is preferable to set the inclination angle upward by about 2 ° with respect to the leveling reference angle position.
[0020]
In the above configuration, if the tilt angle position of the reflector at the time of the traveling beam is set to be 2 to 4 ° upward with respect to the leveling reference angle position of the reflector at the time of the low beam, the irradiation direction of the low beam is forward. When the direction in which the balance between visibility and glare prevention is set is obtained, the irradiation direction of the traveling beam can be set to a direction in which far visibility can be sufficiently secured.
