BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
The present invention relates to an ultrahigh frequency circuit configured by mounting a microwave circuit element on an LSE 01 mode transmission type NRD guide (Nonradiative Dielectic Waveguide).
[0002]
[Prior art]
In ultra-high frequency circuits, microstrip lines have been widely used because of their good mass productivity, etc., but transmission loss increases in the high-frequency, for example, 30 GHz or higher millimeter wave region, and is unsuitable for use. As a line with a small transmission loss in the millimeter wave region, a dielectric line, particularly an NRD guide (IEEE MTT-29, 11, pp1188-1192, Nov. 1981) that suppresses unnecessary radiation has attracted attention.
[0003]
As shown in FIG. 3, the NRD guide has a structure in which a
[0004]
Conventionally, the LSM 01 mode has been used as the main transmission wave of this NRD guide due to its low transmission loss. However, when a high dielectric constant material such as ceramics, which has been remarkably developed in recent years, is used as the dielectric strip. However, problems have arisen that transmission loss is larger than expected and unnecessary modes are likely to occur.
[0005]
However, if high-permittivity materials such as ceramics can be used effectively, it is possible to reduce the size of the circuit and reduce transmission loss. The LSE 01 mode, which has been considered rarely used, has attracted attention.
[0006]
The LSE 01 mode has a lower cut-off frequency than the LSM 01 mode, and is the lowest order mode as the non-radiation mode of the NRD guide, is unlikely to cause mode coupling with other modes, and is relatively easy to handle. However, when a low dielectric constant material such as Teflon or polystyrene, which has been conventionally used, is used as the dielectric strip, there is a problem that the transmission band is narrow.
[0007]
However, research has progressed in recent years, and when the high dielectric constant material such as ceramic is used as the dielectric strip, it has been found that the transmission bandwidth and loss of the LSE 01 mode have characteristics superior to those of the LSM 01 mode. I have done it.
[0008]
[Problems to be solved by the invention]
When an ultra-high frequency circuit is configured using an NRD guide using the LSE 01 mode as a transmission wave, how to mount a microwave circuit element such as a semiconductor device or MMIC is an important issue. Become.
[0009]
Since the LSE 01 mode transmission NRD guide has an electromagnetic field distribution as shown in FIG. 4, as a method of coupling the NRD guide and the microwave circuit element, the output of the microwave circuit element is a coaxial output, as shown in FIG. Thus, a structure in which the
[0010]
However, this structure uses a coaxial line as the input / output line of the microwave circuit element, which causes variations and high costs, and is unrealistic due to poor mass production.
[0011]
An object of the present invention is to provide an ultrahigh frequency circuit in which a microwave circuit element can be mounted on an LSE 01 mode transmission NRD guide with high productivity.
[0012]
[Means for Solving the Problems]
A first invention for solving the above-described problem is an ultrahigh frequency circuit using an LSE 01 mode transmission type NRD guide configured by sandwiching a dielectric strip between conductive parallel plates, and is orthogonal to the parallel plates. A coplanar line was formed on the side surface of the dielectric strip, and a surface mount type microwave circuit element was mounted on the coplanar line.
[0013]
According to a second invention, in the first invention, the coplanar line includes a pair of ground conductors and a center strip conductor disposed between the ground conductors, and an end of the center strip conductor is used as an open end. , And configured to be coupled to the NRD guide.
[0014]
A third invention is an ultra high-frequency circuit according to
[0015]
According to a fourth invention, in the first to third inventions, a power supply section for supplying a voltage to the microwave circuit element is formed on the coplanar line.

【The invention's effect】
As described above, according to the present invention, the coplanar line is formed on the dielectric strip of the LSE 01 mode transmission type NRD guide, and the surface mount type microwave circuit element is mounted thereon, so the coaxial line is used. Therefore, the microwave circuit element and the NRD guide can be coupled via the coplanar line, and a configuration suitable for mass production can be realized.
[0028]
Also, by using a high dielectric constant material such as ceramic for the dielectric strip, the NRD guide can be miniaturized and the heat generated by the microwave circuit element surface-mounted on the coplanar line can be effectively dissipated to the parallel plates. Can be made.
