【0001】

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
The present invention relates to control according to the remaining battery capacity of a battery-driven projector.
[0002]
[Prior art]
Conventionally, projectors have been widely used and used in various places. In recent years, a projector that is small, lightweight, and excellent in portability has been demanded. There is also a need for a battery-powered projector that does not require a power cord.
[0003]
[Problems to be solved by the invention]
However, the battery-powered projector can be used only for a short time due to the battery capacity, and becomes unusable when the remaining capacity of the battery decreases and the voltage drops below a predetermined value. Since battery-powered projectors are often used in business situations, such as presentations, it is not desirable to suddenly be disabled due to a decrease in the remaining battery capacity. Therefore, a battery-powered projector requires some warning when the remaining battery capacity is low.
[0004]
As a method for warning the user of a decrease in the remaining battery capacity, for example, a method in which the apparatus main body includes a warning lamp, a warning sound generation unit, a display unit for displaying the remaining battery capacity with a mark, and the like can be considered. A method of displaying the remaining battery capacity in the projected image is also conceivable.
[0005]
However, since the projector is often used by being installed at a location distant from the user, the former method cannot notify the user of a decrease in the remaining battery capacity. In the latter method, an image irrelevant to an image to be actually displayed is displayed in the projected image, thereby hindering presentation and the like.
[0006]
The present invention has been made to solve the above-described problems, and in a battery-powered projector, a technology for visually and remotely informing a user of a decrease in remaining battery capacity without disturbing a presentation or the like. The purpose is to provide.
[0007]
[Means for solving the problems and their functions and effects]
In order to solve at least a part of the above-described problems, the present invention employs the following configuration.
The projector of the present invention
A projector for projecting an image,
An image forming unit that forms an image to be projected based on the image data;
A projection optical system for projecting the image;
A remaining capacity estimating unit that estimates a remaining capacity of a battery that supplies power to the projector;
A control unit for controlling a display mode of the projected image according to the remaining capacity;
It is a summary to provide.
[0008]
The projector of the present invention is driven by electric power supplied from a battery. The battery may be a primary battery or a secondary battery. The battery may be built in the projector main body or may be connected to the outside. In the projector of the present invention, the remaining capacity estimation unit includes, for example, a sensor for detecting the remaining capacity, a timer for measuring the accumulated usage time after replacement of the primary battery or after full charging of the secondary battery, and accumulated power consumption. For example, a monitor to be measured. Since the projector of the present invention can change the display mode of the projected image according to the remaining battery capacity estimated by the remaining capacity estimating unit, it prevents the user from reducing the remaining battery capacity and hinders presentations, etc. Without having to do it visually and remotely.
[0009]
In the projector of the present invention, as a specific mode for controlling the display mode of the projected image, for example,
The control unit may control brightness of the projected image.
[0010]
By doing so, the brightness of the projected image changes according to the remaining capacity of the battery, so that the user can know the decrease in the remaining capacity of the battery.
[0011]
In the projector, as an aspect of controlling the brightness of the projected image,
It is preferable that the control unit decreases the brightness in accordance with a decrease in the remaining capacity.
[0012]
In general, the user feels that the remaining battery capacity is reduced psychologically due to a decrease in the brightness of the projected image. Therefore, by doing so, the user can know the decrease in the remaining capacity of the battery.
[0013]
In the projector in which the brightness of the projected image is controlled,
The control unit may control a formation state of an image formed on the image forming unit.
[0014]
In the present invention, the brightness of an image formed in the image forming unit is controlled by software by controlling parameters used for image processing, for example, according to the remaining capacity of the battery. By doing this, the brightness of the projected image can be changed according to the remaining capacity of the battery, so that the user can know the decrease in the remaining capacity of the battery. Note that as image processing for changing the image formation state in the image forming unit, parameters used for processing such as color balance adjustment and contrast adjustment may be controlled in addition to luminance adjustment.
[0015]
In the projector in which the brightness of the projected image is controlled,
The control unit may control the brightness of illumination light emitted from the projection optical system.
[0016]
In the present invention, the brightness of the projected image is controlled by controlling the brightness of illumination light emitted from a light source lamp included in the projection optical system, for example, according to the remaining capacity of the battery. By doing so, the user can know the decrease in the remaining capacity of the battery. Furthermore, in such a projector, if the brightness of the illumination light emitted from the light source lamp is reduced according to the decrease in the remaining capacity of the battery, the power consumption of the light source lamp is reduced and the battery life is extended. Therefore, the usable time of the projector can be extended.
[0017]
In the projector of the present invention, as a specific mode for controlling the display mode of the projected image,
The control unit may control the size of the projected image.
[0018]
By doing so, the size of the projected image changes according to the remaining capacity of the battery, so that the user can know the decrease in the remaining capacity of the battery.
[0019]
In the projector, as an aspect of controlling the size of the projected image,
The control unit may reduce the size in accordance with a decrease in the remaining capacity.
[0020]
This also allows the user to know the decrease in the remaining battery capacity.
[0021]
In the projector in which the size of the projected image is controlled,
The control unit may control a size of an image formed on the image forming unit.
[0022]
In the present invention, the size of an image formed on the image forming unit is controlled by software by controlling parameters used for image processing, for example, according to the remaining capacity of the battery. By doing so, the size of the projected image can be changed according to the remaining capacity of the battery, so that the user can know the decrease in the remaining capacity of the battery.
[0023]
In the projector in which the size of the projected image is controlled,
The control unit may control the size of the projection area of the projection optical system.
[0024]
Examples of means for changing the size of the projection area of the projection optical system include a projection lens having a zoom function. In the present invention, by controlling the focal length of such a projection lens, the size of the projection area, in other words, the size of the projection image is controlled. By doing so, the user can know the decrease in the remaining capacity of the battery.
[0025]
In the projector of the present invention,
The control unit can continuously control the display mode of the image, but it is preferable to control in a stepwise manner.
[0026]
When the change in the display mode of the image is continuous, the user may not notice the change. In the present invention, the display mode of the image is controlled stepwise in accordance with the remaining capacity of the battery, so that the user can be notified more clearly of the decrease in the remaining capacity of the battery.
[0027]
The present invention can also be configured as an invention of an image processing control method and a projection optical system drive control method in addition to the above-described configuration as a projector.
