この発明は、金属、樹脂、紙、セラミックなどの表面の性状を知るための非接触変位計に関し、より詳しくは、合焦点検出式の変位計に関する。

【従来の技術】
合焦点検出式非接触変位計の一つとして、特開平7−113617号公報に開示の変位計が知られている。すなわち、特開平7−113617号公報には、対物レンズを機械的に振動させ又は対物レンズとコリメートレンズとを機械的に振動させて、対象物に照射する光の焦点が対象物の凹凸表面と一致する対物レンズの位置を検出することが提案されている。

本件出願人は、上記先行技術に記載されている装置の実用化に際して、対物レンズなどを機械的に上下動させる震動源としての音叉を用いている。図1、図2は、その実用化された音叉1を示す。この従来の変位計にあっては、音叉1の先端に円形リング2を有し、この円形リング2の内周面に対し、対物レンズなどのレンズ3の外周縁を、その全周に亘って塗布された接着剤を用いて接合されていた。

【発明が解決しようとする課題】
音叉1は、その一対の互いに平行に延びる細長い振動子4が、加振源(図示せず)によって、図1に示すように互いに離反又は接近するように振動するが、この振動子4の振動に伴って、振動子4の先端に形成された円形リング5とレンズ3との間に部分的に剥離力が作用する。

図3は、円形リング5とレンズ3との間の剥離現象を説明するための図であり、振動子4の軸線に沿って断面した図である。振動子4の振動に伴う剥離力は、振動子4の長手方向軸線xの近傍で作用し、この長手方向軸線xを含む領域6、7(図1)では接着力が経時的に変化し、最終的にはレンズ3が剥離する傾向がある。

レンズ3の周縁の部分的な剥離は、振動子4の振動特性の変化を誘発し、剥離によってレンズ3の振幅が変化することにより変位計の検出精度が低下してしまうという問題を有していた。また、対物レンズとコリメートレンズとを音叉1に取り付けた変位計にあっては、レンズ3の周縁の部分的な剥離によって、対物レンズとコリメートレンズとの間の振動バランスが崩れ、この結果、異常発振を生じてしまうという問題を有していた。

そこで、本発明の目的は、対物レンズなどの振動に伴う剥離による検出精度の低下を防止するようにした変位計を提供することにある。

【課題を解決するための手段】
かかる技術的課題は、本発明によれば、基本的には、
光軸方向に上下動し且つその長手方向に細長い振動子の先端に接着された対物レンズを有し、光源からの光を前記対物レンズを通して対象物の表面に当て、該対象物からの反射光を受光し、受光した光量に基づいて前記対象物の表面の変位を測定する変位計において、
前記振動子の長手方向軸線上の先端には、前記対物レンズを支持するための円形リングが形成され、
該円形リングの中心を通り、前記振動子の長手方向軸線と直交する鉛直線上及び/又はその近傍領域で前記対物レンズが前記円形リングに接着され、
前記円形リングの中心を通り、前記振動子の振動に伴う剥離力が作用する前記振動子の長手方向軸線を含むその近傍領域で前記対物レンズが前記円形リングに接着されていないことを特徴とする変位計を提供することにより達成される。

以下に、本発明の好ましい実施の形態を添付の図面のうち図4以降の図面を参照して詳しく説明する。

図4は、本発明に従う変位計の基本的な構成を示す図である。本発明に従う変位計10は、レーザパワー制御回路12で駆動されるレーザダイオード14を有し、レーザダイオード14が発するレーザ光は、順次、ビームスプリッタ16、コリメートレンズ18、対物レンズ20を通過して対象物つまり被計測物Wの表面に集光される。

対象物Wで反射した光は、入射光とは逆の経路つまり対物レンズ20とコリメートレンズ18とを通ってハーフミラー22まで戻り、このハーフミラー22で直角に反射し、この反射光はピンホール24を通って受光素子又はフォトダイオード26に達する。

フォトダイオード26は増幅器28を介して演算部30に接続され、フォトダイオード26で光電変換した信号は増幅器28に入力され、増幅器28からの出力信号Xが演算部30に入力される。

対物レンズ20は、音叉32の細長い上下の一対の振動子34a、34bのうち、下方の振動子34aの先端の円形リング36の中に収容されてこの円形リング36に対して取り付けられている。円形リング36に対する対物レンズ20の具体的な取付構造については後に詳しく説明する。

また、音叉32の下方の振動子34aの近傍には、これに臨ませて位置検出センサ42が配置されている。振動子34aの振動に伴う対物レンズ20の変位位置は位置検出センサ42によって検出され、この検出信号は増幅器42に入力される。そして、増幅器28からの出力信号Yは演算部30に入力される。

以上が、変位計10の基本的な構成及び動作原理である。変位計10は、例えば図5に示すように、音叉32の加振源として、音叉32の両方の振動子34a、34bに夫々取り付けられた2つの圧電素子50を有していてもよく、この一対の圧電素子50に電圧を印可することにより、振動子34a、34bを同期して振動させることができる。

変位計10は、また、図6に示すように、音叉32の下方の振動子32aに対物レンズ20を取り付け、また、上方の振動子32bにコリメートレンズ18を取り付けることにより、音叉32の振動によって同一光軸上に配置した対物レンズ20とコリメートレンズ18とを共に振動させるようにしてもよい。

図7、図8は第1の実施の形態を示す。この第1の実施の形態では、円形リング36は、その内周が円形である。また、円形リング36の内周面は、図8に示すように、円形リング36の断面において、段差の無い平らな面で構成されており、円形リングの内径は、対物レンズ20及びコリメートレンズ18の外径と実質的に同一である。円形リング36には、その中心を通り且つ振動子34の長手方向軸線xに直交する鉛直軸線y上の径方向に互いに対向する領域62、64で接着剤を介して対物レンズ20又はコリメートレンズ18と接合され、この領域62、64以外では、円形リング36とレンズ20又は18とは接合されていない。すなわち、円形リング36は、少なくとも、振動子34の長手方向軸線xを含む隣接領域68、70では、レンズ20又は18と接合されていない。
