本発明は、ヒンジ装置並びにヒンジ装置を用いた電子機器に関するものである。

【従来の技術及び発明が解決しようとする課題】
例えば、携帯式電子機器の典型例としての携帯式電話機においては、携帯式電話機本体(本体部と重合部)を折り畳み自在に設けられた折り畳みタイプがある。

この折り畳みタイプは、スイッチの誤作動防止、折り畳み時におけるコンパクト化(ディスプレイの面積の確保)、デザインの多様性などの点において人気がある。

従って、この折り畳みタイプの携帯式電話機について益々注目が集まる中、より一層実用性の高いものの提案が望まれている。

本出願人は、前述したヒンジ装置に更なる実験・研究を重ね、より一層商品価値の高い画期的なヒンジ装置並びにヒンジ装置を用いた電子機器を開発した。

第一部材1と第二部材2とを開閉回動自在に枢着するヒンジ装置であって、第一部材1に回り止め状態に連結される第一連結体3と、この第一連結体3に相対回動自在に連結され、第二部材2に回り止め状態に連結される第二連結体4とから成り、前記第一部材1に対して重合閉塞状態の第二部材2を開放させた際、重合閉塞位置P1から開放方向に回動させた所定開放角度位置P2までの回動域A1においては、第一部材1に対して第二部材2を重合閉塞位置P1まで自動閉塞させる閉塞回動付勢作用が生じる閉塞構造部5を設けるとともに、前記第一部材1に対して第二部材2を前記所定開放角度位置P2よりも開放方向に手動で回動させた際、前記閉塞構造部5を回動方向に付勢することで、第一部材1に対して第二部材2を所定開放角度位置P3まで自動開放させる開放回動付勢作用が生じる開放構造部6を設け、前記閉塞構造部5に設けた係止凹部9に係脱自在に嵌挿係止し得る係止体8を前記第一連結体3,第二連結体4のいずれか一方に回り止め状態に設けて、この係止体8が閉塞構造部5に係止した状態では、前記開放構造部6による閉塞構造部5の回動が阻止されるように構成するとともに、この係止体8が閉塞構造部5から係脱した際、開放構造部6により閉塞構造部5の回動が許容されるように構成し、前記係止凹部9に嵌挿する係止体8の嵌挿部にはテーパー面8aが形成されており、この閉塞構造部5の係止凹部9に対する係止体8の係止力は、前記開放構造部6の付勢力によっては閉塞構造部5から係止体8は係脱せず、前記第一部材1に対して第二部材2を前記閉塞構造部5による閉塞回動付勢力に抗して前記所定開放角度位置P2よりも開放方向に手動で回動させた際、閉塞構造部5から係止体8が係脱し得る係止力に構成されていることを特徴とするヒンジ装置に係るものである。

好適と考える本発明の実施の形態(発明をどのように実施するか)を、図面に基づいてその作用効果を示して簡単に説明する。

従って、本発明に係るヒンジ装置を、例えば前述した本体部と重合部とを枢着連結して成る折り畳みタイプの携帯式電子機器に適用した場合、使用する際、例えば電話機を持つ手で本体部と重合部との間に指を入れることで、本体部に対して重合部を開放方向に回動させると、重合部は開放回動付勢作用により自動開放することになるなど、重合部の開放操作が簡易且つ迅速に行えることになり極めて実用的である。

本発明の具体的な実施例について図面に基づいて説明する。

本実施例は、図1に示すように折り畳みタイプの携帯電話機に適用した場合を示したもので、操作部14を備えた本体部を第一部材1とし、表示画面15を備えた重合部を第二部材2とし、第一部材1と第二部材2とが重合した閉塞状態から第二部材2を例えば120度まで回動した開放状態(通話状態)とすることができる枢着構造に本発明のヒンジ装置Hを適用している。

そして、第一部材1に対して重合閉塞状態の第二部材2を開放させた際、重合閉塞位置P1から開放方向に回動させた所定開放角度位置P2までの回動域A1においては、第一部材1に対して第二部材2を重合閉塞位置P1まで自動閉塞させる閉塞回動付勢作用が生じ(図15参照)、第一部材1に対して第二部材2を前記所定開放角度位置P2よりも開放方向に手動で回動させた際、第一部材1に対して第二部材2を一挙に所定開放角度位置P3(最大開放角度位置)まで自動開放させる開放回動付勢作用が生じ、しかも、この第一部材1に対して第二部材2を開放させた位置から閉塞方向に回動させた前記所定開放角度位置P2までの回動域A2においては、この第二部材2から手を離すと、その離した位置で第二部材2は停止し、ふらつくことがないフリーストップ状態を実現した構成としている(図16参照)。

具体的には、本実施例では、第一部材1の基部に取付孔1aを設け、第二部材2の基部にもこの取付孔1aと連通状態に隣接する取付孔2aを設け、この夫々の取付孔1a,2aに軸状パーツとして構成した本発明のヒンジ装置Hを装着する構成としている。

本体部1(第一部材)には、前記取付孔1aを解して回り止め形状とした第一連結体3の一部を構成する連結部としてのケーシング16を固定し、このケーシング16の一端側に露出状態で配される部材を第二連結体4の一部を構成する取付部17として取付孔2aを介して重合部2(第二部材)に回り止め状態に固定している。このケーシング16は、図示したように断面八角形状としているが、これは本体部1に対する堅固な回り止め固定を達成するための構成であると共に、この回り止め構造を備えながら内部に効率よく部品を収納し得る形状としての八角形状を採用している。
