Description
【0001】

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
The present invention relates to a semiconductor laser assembly used as a light source for excitation of a fixed laser or fine processing.
[0002]
[Prior art]
A semiconductor laser array provided in a semiconductor laser assembly of this type that has been generally used conventionally has a plurality of laser emission points on its emission surface. The semiconductor laser array has its upper and lower surfaces sandwiched between a pair of submount bases, and in this state, the semiconductor laser array is placed on a heat sink. Then, a semiconductor laser unit is configured such that the semiconductor laser array is sandwiched between the submount bases on the heat sink, and this is laminated in multiple stages in the housing, thereby forming a semiconductor laser assembly. Furthermore, when using such a semiconductor laser assembly as a light source for microfabrication processing, etc., it is necessary to concentrate the light at one point. Therefore, the semiconductor laser assembly described above incorporates various condenser lenses. It is used by being housed inside a laser generator. Further, in such a laser generator, it is necessary to indicate a point where the laser beam is focused, that is, a processing point, with a so-called pointer beam. Therefore, in a general laser generator, high-intensity light emitted from a semiconductor laser or light-emitting diode is guided into the housing, and this light is guided along the optical axis of the condensing lens using a reflection mirror or a half mirror. Make it. This creates light called pointer light.
[0003]
[Problems to be solved by the invention]
However, when a conventional semiconductor laser assembly is used in a laser generator, it is necessary to arrange a reflecting mirror or a half mirror in a complicated manner in order to guide pointer light onto the optical axis of the condenser lens. Is difficult to guide to the optical axis of the condenser lens.
[0004]
The present invention has been made to solve the above-described problems, and in particular, a semiconductor laser assembly in which pointer light is introduced into the semiconductor laser assembly from behind to easily generate appropriate pointer light. The purpose is to provide.
[0005]
[Means for Solving the Problems]
A semiconductor laser assembly according to the present invention includes a semiconductor laser array in which a plurality of laser emitting points are arranged along the longitudinal direction of the front surface, and a heat sink having the semiconductor laser array disposed therein and having a medium passage therein. A plurality of units are stacked, and a pointer light passage region through which pointer light from the outside passes is formed between the semiconductor laser units.
[0006]
In this semiconductor laser assembly, a plurality of semiconductor laser units each including a semiconductor laser array in which a plurality of laser emission points are arranged and a heat sink having a medium passage therein are stacked. When such a semiconductor laser assembly is used as a light source for fine processing or the like, it is necessary to concentrate light at one point, and pointer light is used as guide light indicating a condensing point of laser light. Therefore, in order to easily introduce appropriate pointer light by introducing pointer light into the interior from the rear of the semiconductor laser assembly, a pointer light passage region is formed between the semiconductor laser units to allow the pointer light from the outside to pass. To do.
[0007]
The pointer light passage region is preferably a linear light insertion hole that passes through a connecting plate that is sandwiched between the semiconductor laser units to electrically connect the semiconductor laser units. As described above, by using the conductive connecting plate, all the adjacent semiconductor laser arrays can be electrically connected to each other, and the pointer light is transmitted to the semiconductor laser by the optical insertion hole provided in the connecting plate. It can be introduced into the assembly, and the pointer light can be appropriately emitted toward the front of the semiconductor laser assembly.
[0008]
Further, it is preferable that the light insertion hole extends along the optical axis of the condenser lens disposed in front of the laser emission point. As described above, as a result of forming the light insertion hole on the extension of the optical axis of the condenser lens, highly reliable pointer light can be created.
