【発明の属する技術分野】
本発明は、画像形成用の各機器や画像形成装置の外枠カバーを支持する画像形成装置用フレームに関する。

【従来の技術】
従来から、画像形成装置の内部には、画像形成装置の外枠カバーを支持する合成樹脂製のフレーム(骨組み)が備えられており、これらフレーム及び外枠カバーにより画像形成装置本体の強度が保たれ、内部機器が保護されるようになっている。このフレームは、外枠カバーを支持するだけではなく、その内部には感光体ドラム、現像器、転写器等の画像形成ユニットや定着用ユニット等の画像形成用の各機器が配設される(例えば、特許文献1参照)。

このようなフレームは、合成樹脂製であることから軽量化が図れる反面、充分な強度を確保することが難しい。そのため、ベース部材の下面と、当該ベース部材の両側部に設けられた脚部とでフレーム前面に形成される給紙カセット取り付け部等の大きな開口スペースを必要とする箇所には、ベース部材下面の縁部と脚部との結合部を補強するために、板金等からなる補強部材が取り付けられる。

例えば、(1)図17(a)に示すように、U字状に折り曲げた形状の補強部材65を当該給紙カセット取り付け部を構成するベース部材下面の縁部と脚部で形成されるコーナ部に取り付けたり、(2)また、図17(b)に示すように、U字状の折り曲げ部分の内側に切り込みを入れて、折り曲げ部分に弾力を持たせて多少の変形が可能となるようにして寸法誤差を吸収できるようにした補強部材66を、給紙カセット取り付け部を構成するベース部材下面の縁部と脚部とで形成されるコーナ部に取り付けるようにしている。

【発明が解決しようとする課題】
しかしながら、上記(1)で示した補強部材65は、長さ方向両サイドの折曲部分が可撓性を有しないため、ベース部材と脚部とで囲われた取り付け位置に対する寸法合わせに高精度が要求される。また、上記(2)で示した補強部材66は、U字状の折り曲げ部分の切り込みの存在により、当該折り曲げ部分の強度が弱くなってしまい、ベース部材と脚部の結合部を充分な強度で補強することができない。

本発明は、上述した問題点を解決するためになされたものであり、補強部材の寸法に精度が要求されず、かつ、強度も充分に確保された画像形成装置用フレームを提供することを目的とする。

【課題を解決するための手段】
上記目的を達成するために請求項1に記載の発明は、画像形成用の各内部機器が配設され、画像形成装置の外枠カバーを支持する合成樹脂製フレームにおいて、
画像形成用の各機器が配設されるベース部材と、
前記ベース部材の両側部に下方に垂設された脚部とを有し、
前記ベース部材の一側部に設けられている脚部から他方の側部に設けられている脚部までの距離よりも若干短い長さを有する略L字状の補強部材が、前記脚部と前記ベース部材とで形成される各コーナ部に、略L字状部分をあてがった状態でそれぞれ取り付けられ、
前記補強部材は、板金からなり、その幅方向両端部が折り曲げられて側壁部及び底板部からなる断面視略コ字状とされると共に、当該底板部が当該側壁部の延びる方向側に折り曲げられて前記略L字状部分が形成され、この略L字状部分に折り曲げられた部分の内側となる側壁部に、側壁部の幅方向端部から中央部に亘る切欠部が設けられ、一方の補強部材の両側壁と底板とで囲まれた内部に他方の補強部材が嵌り込むように形成され、一方の補強部材の内部に他方の補強部材が嵌り込んだ状態で、前記脚部と前記ベース部材とで形成されるコーナ部に取り付けられており、
前記各補強部材には、当該補強部材を前記ベース部材に固定するための固定部が、前記底板部から側方に張り出した形状として形成され、これら補強部材のうち、前記他方の補強部材が内部に嵌め込まれる受け側の補強部材の切欠部は、当該他方の補強部材に形成されている前記固定部に干渉せず、当該固定部を前記側方に逃がす形状とされている画像形成装置用フレームである。

この構成によれば、補強部材が、ベース部材の一側部に設けられている脚部から他方の側部に設けられている脚部までの距離よりも若干短い長さを有する形状であるため、脚部とベース部材とのコーナ部への補強部材の取り付けは、脚部とベース部材とで囲まれた取り付け部分に対する寸法合わせが精度良く行われていなくても簡単に行うことができる。また、略L字状の補強部材を脚部とベース部材との各コーナ部にそれぞれ取り付けるので、ベース部材と脚部との結合部を充分な強度で補強することができる。

【発明の実施の形態】
以下、本発明の一実施形態に係る画像形成装置用フレームについて図面を参照して説明する。図1は本発明に係る画像形成装置用フレームが適用された複写機の外観構成を示す斜視図である。図1に示す複写機(画像形成装置の一例)10の外形は、本体ハウジング100とその上部に載置された上ハウジング101で区画されている。本体ハウジング100と上ハウジング101の中間部には右側側面から略水平方向に内側に入り込んだ用紙スタック空間部102が形成されている。この用紙スタック空間部102は、本体ハウジング100から横方向に排出される用紙を受け取るものである。さらに、本体ハウジング100の側部には、本体ハウジング100の外側へ排出される用紙を積載するためのシートトレイ103が設けられている。

上ハウジング101は原稿画像を読み取るために原稿を画像読取り位置に搬送する原稿搬送部200と、画像読取り位置において原稿を露光走査して画像読取りする原稿読取り部とを有している。さらに本体ハウジング100は、用紙の給紙部と、用紙上にトナー画像を形成する感光体ドラム及び現像部と、用紙上のトナー画像を定着するための定着部を内蔵した下ハウジング104と、定着後の用紙を搬送して用紙スタック空間部102又はシートトレイ103に排出するための用紙搬送路を内蔵した連結ハウジング105とで区画されている。本体ハウジング100の前面下部には、記録紙が収容される給紙カセット106が手前側から奥行き方向に引き出し自在に取り付けられている。

次に、画像形成装置用フレームについて説明する。図2は本発明に係る画像形成装置用フレームを前方斜め上から見た斜視図、図3は画像形成装置用フレームを前方斜め上から図2とは角度を変えて見た斜視図、図4は画像形成装置用フレームを後方斜め上から見た斜視図、図5は画像形成装置用フレームを後方斜め上から図4とは角度を変えて見た斜視図である。図6は画像形成装置用フレームの正面図、図7及び図8は画像形成装置用フレームの側面図である。画像形成装置用フレーム(以下、フレーム)1は、合成樹脂等からなり、複写機10の外枠カバーや画像形成用の内部機器等を支持する複数の支持部材21,23,24,25が上部に形成され、フレーム1を設置面に直立させるベース部材3が下部に形成されている。

ベース部材3は、水平方向に延びて上面に支持部材21等が形成されているベース部材31と、ベース部材31下部の両側端から下方に延びるように形成され、フレーム1を直立させる脚部321,322とからなる。ベース部材31及び脚部32によって形成されるフレーム1前面部の開口部は、給紙カセット106(図1)が前後方向に引き出し自在に取り付けられる給紙カセット取付部33である。

この画像形成装置用フレーム1は、支持部材21,23の各先端と突部251の先端とが略同一平面をなすように高さ設定がされているので、図10に示すように、画像形成装置用フレーム1を天地逆向きにした場合であっても、支持部材21と支持部材23と突部251の各先端が設置面に当接して直立する。このようにフレーム1は、姿勢保持用治具等を用いなくても、天地逆向きの状態で安定した姿勢に保持される。

【発明の効果】
以上のように請求項1に記載の発明によれば、補強部材が、ベース部材の一側部に設けられている脚部から他方の側部に設けられている脚部までの距離よりも若干短い長さを有する形状であるため、当該補強部材の脚部とベース部材とのコーナ部への取り付けは、脚部とベース部材とで囲まれた取り付け部分に対する寸法合わせが精度良く行われていなくても簡単に行うことができる。また、略L字状の補強部材を脚部とベース部材との各コーナ部にそれぞれ取り付けるので、ベース部材と脚部との結合部を充分な強度で補強することができる。

画像形成用の各内部機器が配設され、画像形成装置の外枠カバーを支持する合成樹脂製フレームにおいて、
画像形成用の各機器が配設されるベース部材と、
前記ベース部材の両側部に下方に垂設された脚部とを有し、
前記ベース部材の一側部に設けられている脚部から他方の側部に設けられている脚部までの距離よりも若干短い長さを有する略L字状の補強部材が、前記脚部と前記ベース部材とで形成される各コーナ部に、略L字状部分をあてがった状態でそれぞれ取り付けられ、
前記補強部材は、板金からなり、その幅方向両端部が折り曲げられて側壁部及び底板部からなる断面視略コ字状とされると共に、当該底板部が当該側壁部の延びる方向側に折り曲げられて前記略L字状部分が形成され、この略L字状部分に折り曲げられた部分の内側となる側壁部に、側壁部の幅方向端部から中央部に亘る切欠部が設けられ、一方の補強部材の両側壁と底板とで囲まれた内部に他方の補強部材が嵌り込むように形成され、一方の補強部材の内部に他方の補強部材が嵌り込んだ状態で、前記脚部と前記ベース部材とで形成されるコーナ部に取り付けられており、
