本発明は、ダンピング素子を用いて発振を機構的に低減させることにより像安定機能を高めた像安定光学装置に関するものである。

【従来の技術】
図9は、従来の像安定光学装置の内部構造を示す斜視図である。この装置は具体的には双眼鏡であり、筺体(図示せず)内には1つの回動軸1を有するジンバル懸架部2が配置されており、ジンバル懸架部2によって正立プリズム3、4が対物レンズ系5、6及び接眼レンズ系7、8の間において回動自在に支持されている。

また、ジンバル懸架部2の下部には角速度センサ9が取り付けられ、回動軸1の一端にはポテンショメータ10が取り付けられている。回動軸1の他端には、角速度センサ9及びポテンショメータ10の検出信号に基づいて、ジンバル懸架部2を回動させる回転駆動モータ11が取り付けられている。そして、回転駆動モータ11をフィードバック制御する制御系(図示せず)が組まれており、正立プリズム3、4の静止した空間(正確には慣性空間)に対する角度は常に一定に保たれる。

このように構成された従来の像安定光学装置によれば、手ぶれ等の外乱に対して正立プリズム3、4の慣性空間に対する角度が安定化され、この双眼鏡の像安定機能が達成される。像安定機能が達成されることの詳細な理由は、例えば特公昭57−37852号公報に記載されている。

【発明が解決しようとする課題】
ところが、外乱に対する安定性を向上させるために、回転駆動モータ11のフィードバック制御系のサーボゲインを上げると、発振が生じてしまうという問題がある。これは、フィードバックループ中に存在する各種の要素、すなわち角速度センサ9、ポテンショメータ10、回路系、回転駆動モータ11等の応答が遅れることによる信号の時間遅れによって、フィードバック信号に位相遅れが発生するためである。

一方、発振はゲインを下げると収まるが、この場合には慣性空間に対する正立プリズム3、4の角度の安定精度が低下してしまう。また、回路中に位相進み回路等を付加する手段も知られているが、これにも機構系とのマッチングの問題やその効果に限度がある等の問題がある。

そこで、本発明の目的は、ジンバル懸架部等にダンピング素子を取り付けることにより発振を機構的に低減させ、サーボゲインを上げることを可能とし、手ぶれ等の外乱に対する高い像安定機能を有する像安定光学装置を得ることにある。

【課題を解決するための手段】
上記目的を達成するために、請求項1に係る発明は、筺体に固着された対物レンズ系及び接眼レンズ系と、筺体に対してチルティング方向に回動自在に取り付けられたジンバル懸架部と、対物レンズ系及び接眼レンズ系の間に配置され、ジンバル懸架部を介して筺体に装着され、チルティング方向に回動可能となっている正立プリズムと、慣性空間に対するジンバル懸架部のチルティング方向に関する回転角速度を検出する角速度センサと、慣性空間に対するジンバル懸架部のチルティング方向に関する回転角度を検出するポテンショメータと、角速度センサにより検出された回転角速度及びポテンショメータにより検出された回転角度に基づき、慣性空間に対する正立プリズムのチルティング方向の角度が変化しないように演算されたフィードバック制御信号を駆動回路にて一定のゲインで増幅した出力信号により駆動制御され、ジンバル懸架部を筺体に対してチルティング方向に回動させる回転駆動手段と、ジンバル懸架部または正立プリズムのうちの少なくとも1つに取り付けられ、回転駆動手段の駆動制御における発振を低減させる粘弾性体とを備えている。

以下、添付図面に沿って本発明の実施例について説明する。なお、図面において同一又は相当部分には同一符号を用いるものとする。図1は、本実施例の像安定光学装置、具体的には双眼鏡の内部構造を示す斜視図である。本実施例の像安定光学装置は1対の対物レンズ系5、6、1対の接眼レンズ系7、8、及び1対の正立プリズム3、4を備えており、対物レンズ5、接眼レンズ7、正立プリズム3は第1の望遠鏡系12を構成し、対物レンズ6、接眼レンズ8、正立プリズム4は第2の望遠鏡系13を構成している。そして、この第1、第2の望遠鏡系12、13の1対が双眼鏡系を構成している。
