本発明は1本の導波管の広壁面に左右2本のスロットを切ることで、容易にアンテナ放射パターンを制御でき、また、この応用として各導波管アレーアンテナをバトラーマトリックス給電回路で給電することで、マルチビームアンテナでありながら十分低いサイドロープレベルを実現することができる導波管アレーアンテナに関する。

【従来の技術】
図10は従来の導波管アンテナである。水平面のアンテナパターンを成形するために2つのアンテナ素子EL1-1 とEL1-2 を水平に並べ、各アンテナの位相及び振幅特性をアンテナ間隔dで調整している。これらのアンテナを構成しかつ制御するには、本図のように2本の導波管10を並列に並べ、各導波管10にスロットSLを切る必要があった。なお、各スロットSLは狭壁面11に切るので、長さが十分取れないことから、斜めになり、かつ側面まで切り込む形となる。この状態で垂直偏波を発生させるために、スロットの斜めに切る向きを縦方向で交互させている。こうすることで、水平偏波成分が打ち消されて垂直偏波成分のみが放射される。因みに、各アンテナ素子EL1-1 ,EL1-2 ,EL2-1 ,EL2-2 で発生する電界Eは、垂直成分Vと水平成分Hとに分けられる。スロットSLの向が交互に異なっていることにより、電界Eも縦方向に逆向きの傾斜を持つ。このために、垂直成分Vは互いに強調されるが、水平成分Hは相殺され、ほぼゼロとなり、垂直成分のみが放射されることになる。

【発明が解決しようとする課題】
本アンテナにより、水平面が2素子アレイアンテナとなるため水平面放射パターンの制御が可能である。しかし、2本の導波管10を用いること、および2分配器13を必要とすることから、構造が複雑である。さらに狭壁面11にスロットSLを切ることから、広壁面12がアンテナの厚み方向となり、アンテナが厚くなること、またアンテナ間隔を調整してパターン成形を行うので、2つの導波管10の間隔を広くとる場合があることからアンテナが大きくなる。

【課題を解決するための手段】
この発明の請求項1では導波管の面に複数のスロットを切ることでアンテナとして動作させる導波管アレーアンテナにおいて、

この発明の請求項2では請求項1記載の導波管アレーアンテナにおいて、個々のスロットが互いに平行する2本の長さの異なるスロットの組で構成され、これら2本のスロットが1組として動作する導波管アレーアンテナを提案する。

この発明による導波管アレーアンテナによれば、導波管の広壁面に互いに逆向きに傾斜した4個のスロットを形成し、これら4個のスロットで一組のアンテナとして動作させる構成としたから、1本の導波管の広壁面上で一組のアンテナを構成することができる。この結果、小さな容積で導波管アレーアンテナを構成することができる。また、アンテナ放射パターンを制御することができ、かつアレー化することで垂直面でのビームチルトやパターン成形が可能で、かつバトラーマトリックスによりマルチビームとした場合もグレーティングローブの発生を抑圧できる利点が得られる。

【発明の実施の形態】
図1乃至図4にこの発明による導波管アレーアンテナの一実施例を示す。
図13と対応する部分には同一符号を付して示す。この発明では導波管10の広壁面12に導波管10の長手方向と平行する2辺10Aと10Bに対して所定の角度θで互いに逆向きに傾斜した一対のスロットSL1-1 とSL2-1 を形成する。これらのスロットSL1-1 とSL2-1 は導波管10の広壁面12を幅方向に2分する中心線14Aを線対称として配置される。更にこの発明ではスロットSL1-1 及びSL2-1 と所定の距離離れた位置を導波管10の長手方向に直交する向きに横断する横断線14B(図2参照)を線対称としてスロットSL1-2 及びSL2-2 とを設け、更に、狭壁面11にはこれらスロットSL1-1 ,SL1-2 及びSL2-1 ,SL2-2 のそれぞれに連通し、2辺10Aと10Bのそれぞれから直角方向にスロットを延長して形成する。これらの各スロットSL1-1 ,SL1-2 とSL2-1 ,SL2-2 とによって一組のアンテナを構成する。スロットSL1-1 とSL1-2 及びSL2-1 とSL2-2 の平均間隔はこの例では0.5λとした例を示す。尚、導波管10の端末部分は金属壁10Cで塞がれる。

この発明ではこれらの4個のスロットSL1-1 ,SL1-2 及びSL2-1 ,SL2-2 を一組としてアンテナを構成する。図3に各スロットの電流の方向を示す。スロットSL1-1 とSL1-2 の組について見ると、スロットSL1-1 とSL1-2 はその間隔が図2に示したように0.5波長であるため、スロット上は逆方向に電流が流れる。このために広壁面12ではY軸方向の電流Hが逆向となり互に打消されるのに対して、X軸方向に関しては足し合わされる。これによりスロットSL1-1 とSL1-2 で電界E1が生成される。同様にしてスロットSL2-1 とSL2-2 についても同じ動作となり電界E2が生成される。この電界E1とE2は導波管10に対して長手方向で同一方向に向くため、導波管10を立てた場合、垂直偏波が放射される。すなわち、YZ面に電界E1,E2が発生し、Z軸方向に電波が放射される。

スロットSL1-1 ,SL1-2 及びSL2-1 ,SL2-2 の角度(例えばθ=60°)θや広壁面12の幅a(図3参照)を調整することで電界E1とE2の間隔を調整できるので、水平面の放射パターンを成形することができる。なお、狭壁面11に生成される電流は各スロットで逆位相となるため、ZY平面の放射には殆んど寄与しない。
上述したように、図1及び図2に示したアンテナの構成により4本のスロットSL1-1 ,SL1-2 及びSL2-1 ,SL2-2 の組で導波管を立てた場合に垂直偏波が発生し、その水平面パターンを成形することができる。このアンテナは図4に4本のスロットを単位としてひとつの導波管10の長手方向に単位アンテナをAN1〜AN6のように並設することができる。このように縦方向に単位アンテナをAN1〜AN6を並設することによりアレーアンテナとして動作し、垂直偏波の高利得アンテナとして使用することができる。なお図4Aでは単位アンテナを6個並設し、Bでは2個並設した場合を示したが、その数に特別な意味はなく、任意の個数に選定することができる。但し、複数設置した場合は対称性などを良くするために図4及び図11に示すように中央給電(給電点C)がよい。

上述したように、この発明によれば1本の導波管10の広壁面12上で一組のアンテナを構成することができるから簡易な構造でかつ小さな容積でアンテナ放射パターンを制御できる導波管アンテナを実現することができる。
図5及び図6にこの発明の第2の実施例を示す。この実施例では実施例1で示したスロットSL1-1 〜SL2-2 を長さが異なる複数本のスロットで構成した場合を示す。こうすることで実施例1と同様の効果を得ながら、かつ、2つの周波数に共振させることができる。この場合の具体的なアンテナの構造とその特性を図7、図8及び図9に示す。図7に示すアンテナの寸法構造で実験を行なった。まず入力リターンロス特性を図8に示す。図8から明らかなように、3.9GHzと4.65GHzの2つの周波数で共振し、2共振特性が得られた。尚、図5,図6及び図7に見られる2本のスロットの中でどちらを長くするかは特性を見極めて決定する。

一方放射パターンを図9に示す。図9に示すYZ面、すなわち導波管10を立てた姿勢にした場合、水平面でグレーティングローブを抑圧することができた。
図10にこの発明の第3の実施例を示す。この実施例では任意の組のアンテナを使用し、平面アレーアンテナを構成する場合の実施例を示す。図10に示す例では縦方向に2組(スロット8本)で1ブロックBUを形成し、各ブロックBUを中央で給電した場合を示す。各ブロックBUは図11AとBに示すように単一共振形のブロックと、図11CとDに示す2共振形の何れでもよい。各ブロックBUを4個縦に並べ、位相器15(図10B参照)を介して給電することで、垂直面のビームチルト、成形などを行うことができる。更に、この縦の列を横方向及び縦方向に並べることで横方向及び縦方向にもアレー化することができる。この場合は各縦方向のアレーを独立に給電する方法もあるが、図12に示すようにバトラーマトリックス16を介して給電することでマルチビームが得られる。特にこの場合はこの発明によるアンテナが水平面でパターン成形ができる特徴が活きる。すなわち、バトラーマトリックス16では位相角が全て固定であるため、任意の角度にビームを生成する場合、グレーティングローブが発生することがある。然し乍ら、この発明によればグレーティングローブを素子パターンの成形で抑圧することが可能となる。尚、図10に示したブロックBUと、図11に示したブロックBUとでスリットSLの向きが異なるが、スロットの向きの違いによりアンテナの特性に違いが発生することはない。

以上説明したように、この発明によれば、簡易な構造でかつ小さな容積で容易にアンテナ放射パターンを制御することができ、かつ、アレー化することで垂直面でのビームチルトやパターン成形が可能で、かつバトラーマトリックスによりマチルビームとした場合も、グレーティングローブの発生を抑圧できる導波管アンテナを提供することができる。
