Description
【0001】

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
The present invention relates to an antenna for an on-vehicle radar device used in an on-vehicle radar device that collects data for recognizing a situation around a vehicle by transmitting and receiving radar waves.
[0002]
[Prior art]
Conventionally, it is used for various vehicle control, such as inter-vehicle distance control that keeps the inter-vehicle distance with the preceding vehicle automatically, and collision warning control that generates an alarm to prevent collision when approaching the preceding vehicle more than necessary. Therefore, an in-vehicle radar device that collects data for recognizing a situation around the vehicle (such as an inter-vehicle distance and a relative speed with respect to a preceding vehicle) is known.
[0003]
This in-vehicle radar device includes a laser type radar device that uses laser light and a radio wave type radar device that uses radio waves such as millimeter waves and microwaves. It is attracting attention because it is excellent in resistance to bad environments such as fog, and when a millimeter wave with a short wavelength is used as a radar wave, it is possible to reduce the size of the antenna and thus the entire device.
[0004]
By the way, the in-vehicle radar device (particularly the antenna) is required to be mounted at a position where the front of the vehicle can be monitored and the design of the vehicle is not impaired, and the inside of the bumper on the front surface of the vehicle is considered as a specific mounting position.
However, the bumper is at a low position in the vehicle, and the on-vehicle radar device installed in the bumper is placed at a location close to the road surface, so it is greatly affected by the reflected wave from the road surface, There is a high possibility that this reflected wave is erroneously detected as being based on an obstacle or the like.
[0005]
On the other hand, Japanese Patent Laid-Open No. 6-168400 discloses an in-vehicle radar device that performs transmission and reception of radar waves using a reflector antenna, as shown in FIG. As described above, there is disclosed a technique in which an asymmetric beam pattern B having a downward gain smaller than an upward gain is formed, and the influence of unnecessary reflected waves from the lower side (that is, the road surface R) is reduced.
[0006]
[Problems to be solved by the invention]
However, the processing of the reflecting surface having an asymmetric shape is troublesome, and as a result, there is a problem that the apparatus becomes expensive. In addition, radio wave radar devices are not limited to those using a reflector antenna, but there are various types such as those using a lens antenna or a horn antenna. There was also a problem that it was not applicable.
[0007]
In order to solve the above-described problems, an object of the present invention is to provide an on-vehicle radar device antenna that can reduce the influence of reflected waves from a road surface with a simple configuration.
[0008]
[Means for Solving the Problems]
The antenna for an on-vehicle radar device according to
The radar wave radiated from the patch antenna with respect to the radiation axis is caused by the interference between the leakage electromagnetic wave leaking from the feed line to the patch antenna forming surface side through the dielectric exposed portion and the radiated electromagnetic wave radiated from the patch antenna. The arrangement of the feed line and the width of the dielectric exposed portion are set so that the beam pattern has an asymmetric beam pattern having a low side and a high side, and the low side of the beam pattern is emitted toward the road surface .
[0009]
That is, the leakage electromagnetic wave from the feed line, which has been considered unfavorable in the past, is actively used to interfere with the radiated electromagnetic wave from the patch antenna. In this case, the main beam of the antenna is shifted from the normal direction of the opening surface of the patch antenna to the feed line side, the antenna gain is high on the wiring side of the feed line, and the antenna gain is low on the opposite side. An asymmetric beam pattern is formed.
[0010]
Therefore, according to the antenna for an on-vehicle radar device of the present invention, an asymmetric beam pattern can be formed by using a simple configuration in which the arrangement of the feed line is appropriately set without using a reflector having a complicated shape. As a result, the influence of reflected waves from the road surface can be reduced. As a result, it is possible to reliably reduce erroneous detection and malfunction in the on-vehicle radar device configured using the antenna.
[0012]
In addition, according to the antenna for an on-vehicle radar device of the present invention, power can be supplied to the patch antenna from the back surface of the dielectric substrate with respect to the patch antenna formation surface (referred to as the front surface). It can be easily formed on the back surface, and the in-vehicle radar device can be downsized.
[0013]
Also, since the back surface of the dielectric substrate is less affected by electromagnetic waves radiated from the patch antenna than the front surface, when a receiving circuit or the like is provided on the back surface of the dielectric substrate, compared to the case where it is provided on the front surface , Detection sensitivity can be improved.
Incidentally, the feed line, as in
[0014]
In this case, since the patch antenna and the feed line can be formed on the same surface of the dielectric substrate, it can be configured at low cost. Further, since the feed line is on the same plane as the patch antenna, interference due to leaked electromagnetic waves from the feed line becomes strong, and an asymmetric beam pattern can be easily formed.
[0015]
Then convergence, vehicle radar antenna, as claimed in
[0016]
However, when the antenna of the present invention is configured as a lens antenna or a reflector antenna, the beam pattern of the antenna is a pattern that is almost opposite to the beam pattern of the patch antenna through the lens or reflector. In order to reduce the antenna gain in the direction, it is necessary to wire the feed line on the road surface side of the patch antenna erected with respect to the road surface. On the other hand, when the antenna of the present invention is configured as a horn antenna, the antenna This beam pattern does not invert the patch antenna beam pattern, so in order to reduce the antenna gain in the road surface direction, a feed line is provided on the side opposite to the road surface side of the patch antenna erected with respect to the road surface. It is necessary to wire.
[0017]
In any of these cases, the formed beam is narrowed compared to the case of a single patch antenna, and therefore the radiation efficiency of the antenna and, consequently, the detection performance of the in-vehicle radar device can be improved. Incidentally, the antenna when configured as a lens antenna, as claimed in
[0018]
In this case, the lens portion can be manufactured integrally with the bumper, and the manufacturing cost and the labor for mounting the antenna can be reduced. Also, when constituting the antenna as a lens antenna or a reflector antenna, as claimed in claim 7, wherein the primary radiator, a patch antenna may be constituted by a horn antenna for the radiation source, in this case, the antenna Radiation efficiency can be further improved.
[0019]
Further, when constituting the antenna as a horn antenna, and in the case of using horn antennas as primary radiator constitute the antenna as a lens antenna or a reflector antenna, Ho N'antena the arrangement end side of the patch antenna aperture It is necessary to form the feed line having a length of ½ or more of the in-line wavelength with respect to the use frequency of the radar wave.
[0020]
That is, in this way, the leaked electromagnetic wave from the feed line is reliably incident on the horn antenna, and an asymmetric beam pattern can be reliably formed together with the radiated electromagnetic wave from the patch antenna.
