BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
The present invention relates to a solid electrolytic capacitor in which a sintered body of valve action metal such as tantalum powder is incorporated in a package. More specifically, the present invention relates to a solid electrolytic capacitor having a structure in which electrical characteristics such as a large capacity can be improved by incorporating a capacitor element having a volume as large as possible in a small package.

In the conventional solid electrolytic capacitor, as shown in FIG. 5, the

[0004]
On the other hand, along with the recent trend toward smaller and smaller electronic components, solid electric field capacitors are also required to have very small packages. On the other hand, high-performance solid electrolytic capacitors such as large capacity and low leakage current are characteristically available. It is requested. In order to increase the capacity or improve the characteristics of the solid electrolytic capacitor, it is necessary to increase the volume of the
[0005]
[Problems to be solved by the invention]
As described above, the capacitor element is likely to be inclined by welding of the anode lead, but the corner (corner portion) and the like are exposed from the
[0006]
In addition, a solid electrolytic capacitor with a built-in fuse has a problem in that a part of the capacitor element is exposed, and if it comes into contact with an external lead, the fuse does not function and becomes defective, resulting in a decrease in yield.
[0007]
The present invention has been made to solve such a problem, and an object of the present invention is to provide a solid electrolytic capacitor having a structure in which a large capacitor element can be incorporated in a small package.
[0008]
Another object of the present invention is to improve the yield and reduce the cost by eliminating the trouble even if a part of the capacitor element is exposed, and further, the high performance solid electrolytic which maintains the function of the fuse. It is to provide a capacitor.
[0009]
[Means for Solving the Problems]
The solid electrolytic capacitor according to the present invention includes an anode formed by embedding one end of an anode lead from one wall surface of a sintered body of a valve metal and a cathode formed on a side wall of the sintered body. A rectangular capacitor element, a plate-like first external lead to which the anode lead is welded, a plate-like second external lead to which the cathode is electrically connected, the periphery of the capacitor element and the A package covering a connection portion with the first and second external leads, and the end of the plate-like first and second external leads exposed from the package is bent downward toward the package side. as a side corner portion of the anode lead and the opposite side wall as the lower surface of the capacitor element is wider than the width of the end portion which is exposed from the package of the first and second leads, One, a narrower width than the width of the lower surface and comprising a sidewall of the capacitor element, so as not to reach the both ends in the width of the side walls has been removed. Here, the lower surface means a surface on the substrate side when the solid electrolytic capacitor is mounted on the substrate or the like.
[0010]
By adopting this structure, even if an inclination occurs during the welding of the anode lead, the corner (corner portion) of the capacitor element that is easily exposed from the package is removed because the displacement is greatest on the side opposite to the anode lead. Therefore, even if a slight inclination occurs, it is not exposed from the package. Therefore, one side and the length of the capacitor element itself can be increased, and the volume can be increased much more than the volume can be reduced by removing the corner portion.
[0011]
The side wall of the capacitor element, the cathode of which is electrically connected to the second external lead via a fuse between the side wall of the top surface of the capacitor element and the second external lead By adopting a structure in which a removal portion for reducing the arc of the fuse is formed in the corner portion on the opposite side of the anode lead, when the fuse is incorporated, the shortest distance is ensured so as not to occupy the space by the fuse as much as possible. Thus, even when connecting to the second external lead, there is no accident that the capacitor element is rubbed and cut at the corner (corner) of the capacitor element.
[0012]
Ends of the first and second external leads exposed from the package are bent to the lower surface side of the package, and a heat-resistant insulating resin is formed on the side of the second external leads facing the package. by insulating coating formed by curing by applying it is al provided, even if the capacitor element is exposed from the package, there is no fact that the cathode of the direct external leads and the capacitor element is short-circuited. Therefore, it is not necessary to always store the capacitor element in the package, the yield can be improved, and the capacitor element can be further increased in size.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION

[0021]
According to the present invention, since the corner portion of the capacitor element that is most easily exposed from the package due to the inclination during welding is removed, the capacitor element is exposed from the package even if a slight inclination occurs during welding of the capacitor element. There is nothing. Although the volume of the capacitor element is slightly reduced by cutting the corner portion, the length of one side can be increased by that amount, and the length in the vertical direction (the direction in which the anode lead extends) is reduced by being less exposed. Therefore, the volume of the capacitor element can be made much larger than the decrease due to the corner cut.
[0022]
For example, when a capacitor element having a bottom surface of 0.5 mm × 0.5 mm and a vertical direction of 0.8 mm is cut from a corner to a side surface of 0.3 mm (D in FIG. 2) and the bottom surface is 0.1 mm (E in FIG. 2) The volume decreases by 0.3 × 0.1 × 1/2 × 0.5 = 0.0075 mm 3 . However, for example, by increasing the bottom surface to 0.5 mm × 0.6 mm and the vertical direction to 0.9 mm, the amount of increase in the volume of the capacitor element is less, although the possibility of exposure is less than the conventional structure. Is 0.5 × 0.6 × 0.9−0.5 × 0.5 × 0.8 = 0.07 mm 3 , and the volume increases by an order of magnitude (1.31 times that of the conventional structure). Volume). In practice, the length in the longitudinal direction can be made larger and the volume can be increased much more.
[0023]
The above example is an example in which a fuse is incorporated. However, even if no fuse is incorporated, the same thing can be said, but the conventional Z-bending second external lead and the cathode of the capacitor element are directly connected to the conductive adhesive. Even in the case of bonding by the above, it is possible to incorporate a capacitor element having a large volume by similarly cutting the corner portion.

【The invention's effect】
According to the present invention, since the capacitor element occupying efficiency in the package is improved by utilizing the inclination behavior of the capacitor element by welding, a large volume capacitor element can be incorporated in a small package. As a result, the capacity can be increased, the powder particles can be increased even at the same capacity to improve the leakage characteristics, or the external shape of the package can be reduced while maintaining the same electrical characteristics. Furthermore, since a part of the capacitor element is exposed, defects due to a short circuit with the external lead are reduced, and the cost can be reduced by improving the yield.
[0030]
Furthermore, by allowing the capacitor element to be partially exposed from the package and interposing an insulating sheet between the external lead and the package, the capacitor element can be further increased in size and the capacitor characteristics can be improved. be able to.
