Description
【0001】

[Problems to be solved by the invention]
By the way, CDs with a diameter of 12 cm and CDs with a diameter of 8 cm are known, but CDs having a diameter of 8 cm recorded on a CD with a diameter of 12 cm and the remaining surface being a flat mirror surface are recorded. Existing. When such a CD is set in the playback device, the following problems occur.

[0014]
In addition, if an optical disk reproducing apparatus capable of reproducing both a CD and a DVD is provided with a skew servo, when reproducing a signal recorded on the innermost circumference during CD reproduction, the rotation speed is several Hz. As a result, skew servo is applied according to the warp in the circumferential direction of the CD, and there is a problem that the skew servo flutters.
Therefore, according to the present invention, in an optical disk reproducing apparatus capable of reproducing both a CD and a DVD, a reproduction signal having a good quality can be obtained from the CD and the DVD even if the skew servo is provided, and the skew servo flutters. It is an object of the present invention to provide an optical disc reproducing apparatus without any problem.
[0015]
[Means for Solving the Problems]
In order to achieve the above object, an optical disk reproducing apparatus according to the present invention is based on detection means for detecting the perpendicularity between the recording surface of an optical disk and the optical axis of light emitted from an optical pickup, and the output of the detection means. Correction means for controlling the verticality to be corrected, and determination means for determining whether the optical disk is a first optical disk or a second optical disk having a recording density higher than that of the first optical disk, When the discriminating unit discriminates the optical disc as the first optical disc, the operation of the correcting unit is stopped after the verticality is corrected by the correcting unit.
[0016]
In order to achieve the above object, the reproducing method of the optical disc reproducing apparatus of the present invention includes a detecting means for detecting the perpendicularity between the recording surface of the optical disc and the optical axis of the light emitted from the optical pickup, and the output of the detecting means. Correction means for controlling the verticality to be corrected based on the optical disc, and discriminating means for discriminating whether the optical disc is the first optical disc or the second optical disc having a higher recording density than the first optical disc, When the discriminating unit determines that the optical disc is the first optical disc, the correcting unit stops the operation of the correcting unit after the verticality is corrected by the correcting unit.
[0017]
In the present invention,Since the CD and the DVD are discriminated based on the difference in the recording density of the optical disc, the disc can be discriminated between the CD and the DVD even if the outer shape of the optical disc is the same. Accordingly, since it is possible to determine whether to stop the skew servo operation by reliably determining whether the operation is a CD or a DVD, it is possible to more reliably switch the operation of the skew servo according to the CD and the DVD. .If it is discriminated as a CD, the perpendicularity between the recording surface of the optical disc and the optical axis of the light emitted from the optical pickup is corrected when the optical disc starts rotating, and thereafter the operation of the correcting means is stopped. Servo does not flutter.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION
First, FIG. 1 shows an example of a circuit block diagram in an embodiment of an optical disk reproducing apparatus of the present invention.
In this figure, an optical disk 60 is an optical disk that is a CD or a DVD. Data recorded on the optical disk 60 is obtained by irradiating the optical disk 60 with light from an

Similarly, in the audio decoder 66, the audio data that has been compressed and recorded is subjected to expansion processing, D / A conversion processing, and an analog audio signal is output.
The video output signal is displayed on the display device by a video display circuit (not shown), and at the same time, the audio output signal is emitted from the speaker by the audio output circuit.
[0021]
Further, a focus error signal and a tracking error signal are generated by an error generation circuit 72 in order to perform focus control and tracking control of the

[0023]
By the way, the optical disk reproducing apparatus of the present invention can reproduce two types of optical disks 60, CD and DVD, and the demodulation is performed when the CD is set in the optical disk reproducing apparatus and when the DVD is set in the optical disk reproducing apparatus. The equalizer circuit (EQ circuit) in the circuit 62, the focus gain and focus bias of the focus control circuit, the tracking circuit, and the
A discriminating sensor for discriminating the type of the optical disc, which will be described later, is provided so as to automatically perform this switching.

[0034]
Next, means for determining the type of the optical disk, which is the DVD or CD, is the optical disk 60 set in the optical disk reproducing apparatus will be described.
As a first means, using the fact that the outer diameter of a single CD is 8 cm and the outer diameter of a DVD is 12 cm, the weight is discriminated to discriminate whether it is a CD or a DVD. Can be considered. In this method, it is only necessary to measure the time that elapses until the set optical disk 60 reaches a predetermined rotational speed. If the time is short, it is determined that the optical disk 60 is light in weight and CD is determined. If the time is long, the optical disk 60 is heavy and determined as DVD.
Further, a light emitting means and a light receiving means may be provided so that the outer diameter of the optical disk 60 is discriminated so that the light receiving means receives the reflected light from the optical disk 60 only when the optical disk 60 has an outer diameter of 12 cm. .
[0035]
Next, a second means for determining the type of the optical disk will be described with reference to FIGS. In the second means, the light receiving section 91 and the

When the set optical disk 60 is a DVD, the track pitch Pt of the pits 60-2 is 0.84 μm, so that the first-order diffracted light reflected by the reflective film 60-1 of the optical disk 60 is irradiated. The light is emitted from the optical disc 60 without passing through the same optical path as the light. That is, when the angle θo is about 16 °, the first-order diffracted light out of the light emitted from the

Next, the operation of the optical disk reproducing apparatus of the present invention will be described with reference to the flowchart shown in FIG.
When the optical disk 60 is loaded, it is determined in step S1 whether the loaded optical disk 60 is a CD or a DVD. Here, when the optical disk 60 is determined to be a CD, the CD laser is turned on in

If a DVD is loaded, the optical disk 60 is determined to be a DVD in step S1, and the process branches to step S10. In step S10, the DVD laser is turned on, and the
Then, access to the target address designated in step S16 is started, and the reproduction process is started.
[0040]
As described above, when a CD is set in the optical disk reproducing apparatus, the skew servo is stopped when it rises once. When a DVD is set in the optical disk reproducing apparatus, the skew servo continues to operate.
Note that a discriminating sensor for disc discrimination and a tilt sensor may be used together, or a discriminating sensor may be provided in the optical pickup.
[0041]
【The invention's effect】
Since the present invention is configured as described above, a CD and a DVD are discriminated based on a difference in the outer diameter of the optical disc, and when the disc is discriminated, the tilt executed at the start of optical disc rotation is corrected. The correction control corrects the tilt between the radial direction of the optical disc and the moving axis of the optical pickup, and thereafter stops the operation. As a result, in the case of a CD, the skew servo is not applied after the initial setting. If the disc is determined to be a DVD, the skew servo is always operated, so that a good reproduction signal can be obtained regardless of whether a CD is set or a DVD is set.
Further, since the CD and the DVD are discriminated based on the difference in the recording density of the optical disc, the disc can be discriminated between the CD and the DVD even if the outer diameter of the optical disc is the same. Accordingly, since it is possible to determine whether to stop the skew servo operation by reliably determining whether the operation is a CD or a DVD, it is possible to more reliably switch the operation of the skew servo according to the CD and the DVD. .
