BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
The present invention relates to an optical single-core dual-core transmission apparatus, and more particularly to an optical single-core dual-core transmission apparatus that can communicate with either an optical single-core transmission apparatus or an optical dual-core transmission apparatus.
[0002]
[Prior art]
There are mainly two methods for performing communication using an optical transmission apparatus. One is an optical two-core transmission system that transmits a transmission signal and a reception signal via separate transmission paths, and is used in a local communication network represented by FDDI (Fiber Distributed Data Interface) -LAN or the like. The other is an optical single-core transmission system that multiplexes transmission signals and reception signals and transmits them through the same transmission path, and is used in public communication networks represented by ATM (Asynchronous Transfer Mode) subscribers. The
[0003]
Conventionally, such a local communication network and a public communication network have been operated independently of each other, so that communication can be performed only between optical transmission devices corresponding to the optical two-core transmission method or between optical transmission devices corresponding to the optical single-core transmission method. Was possible. However, in the future, it will be necessary to connect the local communication network and the public communication network. Therefore, Japanese Patent Application Laid-Open No. 2000-307524 proposes an optical single-core dual-core transmission apparatus that can handle both the optical double-core transmission system and the optical single-core transmission system. Hereinafter, this optical single-core double-core transmission apparatus will be described with reference to FIG.
[0004]

[0008]
The present invention has been made to solve such problems, and an object of the present invention is to provide an optical single-core dual-core transmission apparatus applicable to full-duplex communication.
[0009]
[Means for Solving the Problems]
In order to achieve such an object, an optical single-core dual-core transmission device according to the present invention is an optical double-core transmission device that transmits and receives light of a first wavelength via two optical transmission paths for transmission and reception. Alternatively, an optical fiber core that is selectively connected to an optical fiber core transmission device that receives light of the first wavelength via one optical transmission line and transmits light of a second wavelength different from the first wavelength. A dual-purpose transmission device, First A light emitting element that outputs light of a wavelength of First And a light receiving element for detecting light of the second wavelength A first port connected to the output of the light-emitting element, a second port connected to the input of the light-receiving element, one of the two optical transmission lines connected to the optical two-core transmission device, or connected to the optical single-

When this optical single-core dual-core transmission device is adapted to the optical single-core transmission system and one optical transmission line connected to the optical single-core transmission device is connected to the third port of the optical multiplexer / demultiplexer, Even if a part of the light of the first wavelength output from the light emitting element of the dual purpose transmission device is reflected on the optical transmission line or the like, the reflected light is transmitted between the third port and the first port of the optical multiplexer / demultiplexer. Since it passes, it does not go to the 2nd port. Therefore, the reflected light is not received by the light receiving element connected to the second port of the optical multiplexer / demultiplexer.

[0039]
In the above description, the first wavelength is 1.3 μm and the second wavelength is 1.5 μm. However, the present invention is not limited to this example.
[0040]
【The invention's effect】
As described above, in the optical single-core dual-core transmission device according to the present invention, light having the first wavelength is transmitted between the first port and the third port and between the second port and the fourth port. And an optical multiplexer / demultiplexer for passing light of the second wavelength between the second port and the third port. For this reason, full-duplex communication can be performed by using light of different wavelengths for transmission and reception. That is, since transmission and reception can be performed at the same time, the communication time can be shortened as compared with the conventional optical single-core dual-core transmission apparatus.
