BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
The present invention relates to an electronic component mounting apparatus and an electronic component mounting method for mounting electronic components on a substrate.
[0002]
[Prior art]
In an electronic component mounting apparatus for mounting an electronic component on a substrate, a pickup process of picking up an electronic component housed in a supply unit by a transfer head having a suction nozzle, and transferring the picked-up electronic component onto a substrate Repeat the mounting process for mounting at the mounting point. In this mounting operation, the transfer head repeatedly performs the lifting and lowering operations in the pickup process and the mounting process.
[0003]
By the way, in order to improve mounting efficiency, a multi-type head provided with a plurality of suction nozzles in one transfer head is widely used. In this multi-type head, since each suction nozzle needs to be lifted and lowered individually with respect to the transfer head, each suction nozzle is lifted and lowered individually with respect to the transfer head together with a head lifting means for lifting and lowering the entire transfer head. Nozzle lifting / lowering means is provided. As the head lifting means, a Z-axis drive mechanism for head lifting using a servo motor with a high degree of freedom of control is used so that the lifting speed and movement amount can be arbitrarily set, and the nozzle lifting means is compact and simple mechanism In many cases, an air cylinder that moves up and down with a constant stroke is used for the purpose of making it easier.
[0004]
[Problems to be solved by the invention]
However, although the air cylinder has an advantage that the drive mechanism can be simplified, there is a drawback that the operation state tends to vary due to various factors. For example, the driving speed is not stabilized due to fluctuations in the pressure of the driving air and the lubrication state inside the cylinder, and also changes over time due to wear of the sliding portion. For this reason, when an air cylinder is used for raising and lowering the suction nozzle, it is necessary to allow for variations in the operation of the air cylinder when setting the timing in the operation sequence. Had been delayed.
[0005]
Accordingly, an object of the present invention is to provide an electronic component mounting apparatus and an electronic component mounting method capable of reducing the tact time by eliminating the dead time associated with the lifting and lowering operation of the suction nozzle and improving the mounting efficiency.
