【0001】
Sb2Se3,Sb2Te3,Se,Te,Bi2Te3,BiSe,In−Se,In−Sb−Te,In−SbSe,In−Se−Tl,Ge−Te−Sb,Ge−Te等のカルコゲナイト系材料を用いることができる。

【0080】

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
The present invention relates to an optical disc reproducing method for reading out phase pits formed according to signals by irradiation with laser light, and an optical disc reproduced by the optical disc reproducing method.
[0002]
[Prior art]
For example, in an optical disk such as a digital audio disk, so-called compact disk or video disk, an aluminum reflective film is formed on a transparent substrate on which phase pits are previously formed according to information signals, and a protective film is formed on the aluminum reflective film. It is comprised by forming.
[0003]
In such an optical disc, the signal reproduction resolution for the phase pit is almost determined by the wavelength λ of the light source of the reproduction optical system and the numerical aperture NA of the objective lens, and the period of the phase pit formed on the transparent substrate is the diffraction limit (λ / 2NA) or more, a good reproduction signal can be obtained.
[0004]
For this reason, when high-density recording (formation) of phase pits is performed on the optical disk as described above, for example, the wavelength λ of a semiconductor laser, which is a light source of a reproduction optical system, is shortened and the numerical aperture NA of the objective lens is increased. Is done.
[0005]
However, there is a limit to improving the wavelength λ of the light source and the numerical aperture NA of the objective lens. That is, even if the light source wavelength is shortened, for example, with the current technology, the recording density can be increased only four times. In addition, it is difficult to manufacture a lens with less aberration if an attempt is made to increase the numerical aperture NA of the lens, and even if such a lens is obtained, the stability against focus disk vibration and skew is reduced. Problem arises. For this reason, it is difficult to dramatically improve the recording density of the optical disc.
[0006]
Therefore, the present applicant proposes an optical disc that can obtain resolutions higher than the limitations due to the wavelength λ and the numerical aperture NA described above, based on the specifications and drawings of Japanese Patent Application Nos. 2-94452 and 3-249511. did. The inventions related to these applications relate to an optical disc or a reproducing method thereof in which a change in reflectance is changed by a partial phase change in a laser spot of readout light to perform super-resolution reproduction.
[0007]
A super-resolution reproduction optical disk (hereinafter simply referred to as an optical disk), which is an optical disk that performs such super-resolution reproduction, forms a phase change material layer that can be crystallized after melting on a transparent substrate on which phase pits are formed. Do it. When this phase change material layer is irradiated with readout light, for example, the reflectance changes due to partial liquidation in the melt crystallization region within the spot of the readout light. Resolution is realized.
[0008]
In this optical disc, there are a low temperature region (crystalline state) and a high temperature region (liquid phase state) in the spot. Among these, an optical disk that reads a phase pit in a low temperature region and detects a signal is called a so-called FAD (Front Aperture Detection) type, and an optical disk that reads a phase pit in a high temperature region and detects a signal is a so-called RAD (Front Aperture Detection) type. Rear Aperture Detection) type.
[0009]
In the FAD type, the reflectance of the high temperature region is remarkably reduced as compared with the reflectance of the low temperature region in the spot. In this case, the low temperature region serving as the readout region spreads in the track width direction. Since the crescent shape is provided, the recording density on one track can be improved, but if the inter-track distance is reduced, crosstalk occurs, and the track density cannot be increased.
[0010]
On the other hand, in the RAD type, as shown in FIG.HWhen the liquid phase is partially made into a liquid phase, the reflectance is low temperature region S.LThis high temperature region S is increased by a significant increase compared to the solid phase portion inHFor example, it is possible to read out only the phase pit P at the position by diffraction. In this case, since the width in the track width direction of the high temperature region is narrower than the spot width, the RAD type that reads signals in the high temperature region can also improve the track density by improving crosstalk. The recording density can be further improved as compared with the FAD type.
[0011]
[Problems to be solved by the invention]
By the way, in order to reproduce the optical disk at a high S / N ratio, the contrast of the reflectance between the low temperature region portion in the crystalline state and the high temperature region portion in the liquid phase is preferably as large as 10 times or more, for example. Needed.
[0012]
In the RAD type optical disk, the reflectance in the low temperature region, that is, the initial crystal state is close to 0%, and the contrast ratio is increased and high S / N reproduction is performed. For example, two RAD type optical discs DAAnd DBIs a low-temperature region portion reflectance and a high-temperature region portion reflectance as shown in Table 1 below.
[0013]
[Table 1]
[0014]
In the case shown in Table 1, the disk D has a low-temperature region portion reflectance of 2% and a contrast ratio of 7.5.BIs preferred.
[0015]
However, if the initial optical reflectivity of the optical disk is reduced to, for example, about 5% or less, servo signals such as a tracking error signal and a focus error signal are reduced, and it is difficult to perform stable servo with respect to slight uneven reflectance of the optical disk. become. This tendency is particularly strong in tracking using the three-spot method.
[0016]
The present invention has been made in view of the above circumstances, and realizes more stable tracking servo and focusing servo even when the initial state reflectance is 5% or less in order to increase the S / N of the optical disk. It is an object of the present invention to provide an optical disc reproducing method and an optical disc reproduced by the optical disc reproducing method.
[0017]
[Means for Solving the Problems]
In the optical disk reproducing method according to the present invention, a translucent metal film whose refractive index and extinction coefficient have wavelength dependence is formed on a transparent substrate on which phase pits are formed, and a dielectric film is formed on the translucent metal film. [0018]
In the optical disk according to the present invention, a translucent metal film whose refractive index and extinction coefficient are wavelength-dependent is formed on a transparent substrate on which phase pits are formed, and a dielectric film is interposed on the translucent metal film. A phase change material film that can be crystallized after melting, and the phase change material film has a wavelength λ at the time of reading the phase pits.1 Is 780nmWhen the reproduction laser beam is irradiated, the reflectance partially changes in the scanning spot of the reproduction laser beam, and the wavelength λ1A wavelength λ whose absolute value of the difference in wavelength with respect to is 30 nm or more2The track that can be tracked is formed by irradiating the servo laser light ofAnd the translucent metal film has a wavelength λ 1 The refractive index of the reproduction laser beam is 1 or less, the extinction coefficient is 2.5 or more and 5 or less, and 5 to 20 nm is formed on the transparent substrate.
