【0068】

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
The present invention provides a paper feeding means for an automatic document feeder attached to a recording apparatus such as an electrophotographic copying machine or an image reading apparatus, a paper feeding means for feeding paper from a paper feeding cassette or a large capacity paper feeding apparatus, The present invention relates to a sheet feeding device such as a sheet refeeding unit that feeds out recorded sheets from a stacker that stores recorded sheets.
[0002]
[Prior art]
Each of the sheet feeding means separates and feeds one sheet from a sheet feeding tray (stacker) that accommodates a plurality of sheets, and feeds it to the next process.
[0003]
For example, an automatic document feeder includes a sheet feeding tray, a sheet feeding unit, a conveying unit, and a sheet discharging unit. The sheet feeding tray includes a document stacking table on which a plurality of document sheets are stacked, and a movable sheet width regulating plate that aligns the width direction of the document sheets. The sheet feeding means separates and feeds one document sheet from the bundle of document sheets placed on the sheet feed tray, and feeds it to the image reading unit on the exposure document placing table (platen glass). The conveying means conveys the original paper fed to the image reading unit onto the platen glass by an endless belt or roller rotatably provided on the platen glass, and stops at a predetermined image reading position. Then, the original paper after image reading is carried out. The paper discharge means discharges the original paper unloaded from the transport means to a paper discharge tray or the paper feed tray. Alternatively, the original paper unloaded from the conveying means is turned upside down and conveyed again onto the platen glass, and the image on the back side of the original is read.
[0004]
In general, a sheet feeding device that separates and feeds one of the sheets stacked on a sheet feeding tray on which sheets are stacked is: (1) a pickup roller that feeds the sheet loaded on the sheet feeding tray and a movable press (2) separation means comprising a feed roller and a reverse roller (spreading roller) for separating and feeding one sheet from the sheet fed by the feeding means; and (3) separation. A pair of registration rollers for adjusting the posture of one sheet separated and fed by the means and making it stand by and then refeeding by a paper feed start signal; (4) a drive means for driving each of these means; and (5) ▼ Control means for controlling the drive of the drive means.
[0005]
[Problems to be solved by the invention]
The paper feeding device configured as described above has the following problems.
[0006]
(1) At the time of paper feeding in the paper feeding device, the paper fed by the feeding means and the separating means comes into contact with the outer peripheral surface of the pair of registration rollers that have stopped rotating, and the posture of the paper is corrected. After that, the registration roller pair is rotated by a paper feed start signal and is fed again.
[0007]
In this paper posture correction operation, the registration roller pair is switched between stopping and normal rotation using an electromagnetic clutch. Switching with this electromagnetic clutch is as follows: (1) The cost of the device is high because an expensive electromagnetic clutch is used, (2) Noise such as impact noise is generated when the electromagnetic clutch is operated, (3) The registration roller pair There is a problem that the stop position of the original paper fed on the platen glass by rotation is uncertain.
[0008]
(2) In the conventional paper feeding device, the movable pressing plate that presses the pickup roller of the feeding means presses until the leading edge of the fed paper reaches the pressure contact position between the feed roller and the reverse roller of the separating means. Yes. However, the paper feeding operation of the feed roller may be defeated by the paper returning operation of the reverse roller that is in pressure contact therewith, and the leading edge of the paper may not reach the registration roller pair, resulting in a paper feeding failure.
[0009]
(3) If the peripheral speed of the pickup roller and the peripheral speed of the feed roller are constant, the paper stretched between the pickup roller and the feed roller becomes a load on the feed roller, and the paper is separated by the feed roller. Paper feeding is uncertain.
[0010]
(4) When the pair of registration rollers is rotated by the reverse drive of the drive motor to feed the paper, if the reverse roller is also rotated at the same time, the paper is returned by the reverse rotation of the reverse roller and the leading edge of the paper is nipped by the nip of the registration roller. In some cases, the paper is not fed by the registration rollers away from the position, and this causes a paper feed failure.
[0011]
[Means for Solving the Problems]
The present invention solves the problem (3) among the problems (1) to (4), and has the following configuration.
The paper loaded on the paper tray is fed by the feeding means, and one sheet is separated and fed by the separating means. After the orientation of one sheet is adjusted by the registration roller pair, the paper is fed again. In a paper feeding device having a paper means, a driving means for driving the paper feeding means, and a control means for controlling the driving of the driving means,
The feeding means is composed of a pickup roller that is rotated forward by a driving means, and a movable pressing plate that can be moved up and down to place the leading edge of the paper stacked on the paper feeding tray and press it toward the pickup roller from below. The separation unit includes a feed roller that is rotated forward by a driving unit and a reverse roller that is reversely rotated, and a peripheral speed of the pickup roller is set to be larger than a peripheral speed of the feed roller. apparatus.
[0015]
Claims of the invention that achieve the above objectives1The sheet feeding device described in 1) feeds sheets stacked on a sheet feeding tray by feeding means, separates and feeds one sheet by a separating means composed of a feed roller and a reverse roller, and sets a pair of registration rollers. In a paper feeding device comprising: a paper feeding means for re-feeding after adjusting the sheet orientation of the sheet, a driving means for driving the paper feeding means, and a control means for controlling the driving of the driving means. The drive transmission path of the drive means is provided with a coupling that generates a play time between forward rotation and reverse rotation, and when the drive motor is driven in reverse rotation, the registration roller pair starts rotating for several milliseconds. Later, the reverse roller starts reverse rotation via the coupling.
