均等化部2は、接続点c1(請求項中の第1の接続点に相当。)−接続点c2(請求項中の第2の接続点に相当)間に設けられた均等充電用コンデンサCB(請求項中のキャパシタに相当。)
そして、上記スイッチSC1(請求項中の第1のスイッチ素子に相当。)及びSC2(請求項中の第2のスイッチ素子に相当。)

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
The present invention is configured by connecting a plurality of unit cells composed of secondary batteries in series, and an apparatus for adjusting the charge state of an assembled battery that performs charge and discharge in a closed circuit state in which a load and a charger are connected to both ends, and It relates to that method.
[0002]
[Prior art]
For example, in an electric vehicle that runs using an electric motor or a hybrid electric vehicle that runs using an engine and an electric motor in combination, a plurality of these batteries are connected in series with a secondary battery such as a nickel-hydrogen battery or a lithium battery as a unit cell. The connected assembled battery is used as a power source for the electric motor.
[0003]
In the above-described assembled battery, while charging / discharging is repeated, a variation occurs in the voltage across the unit cell based on the state of charge (SOC) of each unit cell. It is known that there is a problem that a cell may be in an overcharged state or an overdischarged state.
[0004]
Therefore, in Japanese Patent Laid-Open No. 6-319287, the switch of the discharge circuit is opened / closed by a signal output from the logic circuit in accordance with the magnitude of the voltage between both ends of each unit cell, thereby discharging the accumulated charge of the unit cell having a high voltage across both ends. Thus, it has been proposed that all the unit cells have the same end voltage as the unit cell having the lowest end voltage, thereby eliminating variations in the end voltages of each unit cell.
[0005]
Japanese Patent Application Laid-Open No. 8-182216 proposes connecting each unit cell to a capacitor having a predetermined capacitor voltage. As a result, the charge of the unit cell having a voltage at both ends higher than the capacitor voltage is transferred to the capacitor, and conversely, the charge of the capacitor is transferred to the unit cell having a voltage at both ends lower than the capacitor voltage. That is, since the accumulated charge is moved from the higher voltage across the capacitor to the lower voltage via the capacitor, variations in the voltage across each unit cell can be eliminated.
[0006]
[Problems to be solved by the invention]
However, the conventional solution proposed by the above-mentioned Japanese Patent Laid-Open No. 6-319287 has a problem that electric energy is wasted because the unit cell having a high voltage at both ends is discharged.
[0007]
In this regard, the conventional solution proposed by Japanese Patent Application Laid-Open No. 8-182216, in which the unit cell having the lower voltage at both ends is charged with the charge accumulated in the capacitor by the unit cell having the higher voltage at both ends, Can be said to be advantageous because it is not wasted.
[0008]
However, in the conventional solution proposed by Japanese Patent Laid-Open No. 8-182216, equalization of the both-end voltage of each unit cell proceeds, and when the variation of the both-end voltage of each unit cell becomes small, the capacitor voltage and the both-end of each unit cell are reduced. As the voltage difference with the voltage decreases, the amount of charge movement decreases, and there is a problem that it takes time until the voltage becomes completely uniform.
[0009]
Therefore, the present invention pays attention to the above-described problems, and an assembled battery charge state adjustment apparatus and method for equalizing both-ends voltage of each unit cell in a short time and suppressing loss of electric energy It is an issue to provide.
[0010]
[Means for Solving the Problems]
In order to solve the above-mentioned problems, the invention according to
[0011]
According to the first aspect of the present invention, while the determination means determines that the degree of variation in the voltage across the unit cells is large, in the first charge state adjustment means, the capacitor connection means is connected to each unit cell. Is connected to a capacitor to equalize the voltage across each unit cell. On the other hand, while the degree of variation is not large and it is determined as NO, in the second charge state adjustment means, the resistance connection means connects each unit cell to the discharge resistance, and the voltage across each unit cell is changed. Equalize.
[0012]
Therefore, while the unit cells have a large degree of variation, equalization is performed by the capacitor connecting means, so that electric energy is not wasted by the discharge resistance. Further, while the degree of variation of each unit cell is not large, the equalization by the capacitor connection means reduces the amount of movement of charges, so that it takes time to equalize. As long as it is not large, equalization is performed by the resistance connection means, so that the voltages at both ends of each unit cell can be equalized in a short time. Further, since the degree of variation is small, less electrical energy is consumed by the discharge resistance.
[0013]
According to a second aspect of the present invention, there is provided a battery pack charge state adjusting device according to the first aspect of the present invention, wherein the capacitor and the discharge resistor are connected to a first connection point c1 and a first connection point c1, respectively. Switching means 2b provided in parallel between two connection points c2, and connecting the positive terminal of each unit cell to the first connection point and the negative terminal to the second connection point; A first switch element S provided in series with the capacitor between the second connection points. C1 And a second switch element S provided in series with the discharge resistor between the first and second connection points. C2 The capacitor connection means performs on / off control of the switch means in a state in which the first switch element is on-controlled to connect each unit cell to the capacitor, and the resistance connection means includes: The battery pack state-of-charge adjustment device is characterized in that the on / off control of the switch means is performed in a state in which the second switch element is turned on to connect each unit cell to the discharge resistor.
[0014]
According to the invention described in
[0015]
Therefore, the capacitor connecting means and the resistance connecting means can also serve as the switching means, and there is no need to separately provide a switching means for connecting each unit cell and the capacitor or the discharge resistor.
[0016]
According to a third aspect of the present invention, according to the basic configuration diagram of FIG. 1, the battery pack state adjustment device according to the first or second aspect, wherein the voltage detecting means detects each voltage across the unit cells. 2d-14, and the determination means has a large degree of variation when the difference between the maximum voltage across the voltages detected by the voltage detection means and the minimum voltage across the minimum voltage exceeds a predetermined value. The battery pack state-of-adjustment device determines whether or not the difference between the maximum voltage across the maximum and the voltage across the minimum is smaller than the predetermined value.
[0017]
According to the third aspect of the present invention, the voltage detecting means detects the voltage across each unit cell. The determination means determines that the degree of variation is large while the difference between the maximum both-end voltage detected by the voltage detection means and the minimum both-end voltage is not less than a predetermined value, and the maximum both-end voltage, While the difference between the minimum voltage and the minimum voltage is smaller than the predetermined value, it is determined as NO.
[0018]
Therefore, when the difference between the maximum voltage across the unit cells and the voltage across the minimum voltage is equal to or greater than a predetermined value, equalization is performed by the first charge state adjustment means, so that a large amount of electrical energy is wasted. There is no. Further, as long as the difference between the maximum terminal voltage and the minimum terminal voltage of each unit cell is smaller than the predetermined value, equalization is performed by the second charge state adjusting means, so that the voltage of each unit cell is reduced in a short time. Equalization can be achieved.
[0019]
As shown in the basic configuration diagram of FIG. 1, the invention according to
[0020]
According to a fourth aspect of the present invention, the signal output means is provided between the first and second connection points and outputs a voltage signal corresponding to the voltage across the unit cell connected to both ends thereof. The voltage detection means performs on / off control of the switch means, connects one of the unit cells to the signal output means, and detects the voltage across each unit cell. The judging means judges that the degree of variation is large while the difference between the maximum terminal voltage and the minimum terminal voltage among the both end voltages detected by the voltage detecting means is greater than or equal to a predetermined value. While the difference between the voltages at both ends is smaller than the predetermined value, it is determined as NO.
[0021]
Therefore, the voltage detection means for performing the determination by the determination means can detect the voltage across each unit cell by using the switch means for connecting each unit cell to the capacitor or the discharge resistor, It is not necessary to provide switch means.
[0022]
The invention according to
[0023]
According to the fifth aspect of the present invention, each unit cell is connected to the capacitor and the both-end voltage of each unit cell is equalized while it is determined that the variation degree of the both-end voltage of each unit cell is large. Electric energy is not wasted by the discharge resistance. In addition, while it is determined that the degree of variation is not large, the equalization by the capacitor reduces the amount of charge movement, and thus it takes time to equalize. However, in the present invention, the degree of variation of each unit cell is not large. Since the equalization is performed by the discharge resistance, the voltage across the unit cells can be equalized in a short time. Further, since the degree of variation is small, the electric energy consumed by the discharge resistor can be small.
[0024]

【The invention's effect】
As described above, according to the first aspect of the present invention, since the equalization is performed by the capacitor connecting means while the variation degree of each unit cell is large, electric energy is wasted by the discharge resistance. There is no. In addition, since the degree of variation is small, less electrical energy is consumed by the discharge resistor, so that the voltage across each unit cell can be equalized in a short time and with reduced loss of electrical energy. A battery charge state adjusting device can be obtained.
[0066]
According to the second aspect of the present invention, the capacitor connecting means and the resistance connecting means can also be used as the switching means, and the switch means for connecting each unit cell and the capacitor or the discharge resistor is provided separately. Since there is no need, it is possible to obtain an assembled battery state-of-charge adjusting device that reduces costs.
[0067]
According to the third aspect of the present invention, since the equalization is performed by the first charge state adjusting means while the difference between the maximum terminal voltage and the minimum terminal voltage of each unit cell is equal to or greater than a predetermined value, Energy is not wasted. Further, as long as the difference between the maximum voltage and the minimum voltage of each unit cell is less than a predetermined value, equalization is performed by the second charge state adjusting means, so that the voltage of each unit cell is short in a short time. Therefore, it is possible to obtain a battery pack state-of-charge adjusting device capable of equalizing the voltages at both ends of each unit cell in a short period of time while suppressing loss of electric energy.
[0068]
According to the fourth aspect of the present invention, the voltage detecting means for performing the judgment by the judging means diverts the switch means for connecting each unit cell to the capacitor or the discharge resistor, and the voltage across each unit cell is determined. It is possible to detect the battery pack, and it is not necessary to provide a separate switch means. Therefore, it is possible to obtain an assembled battery state-of-charge adjusting device that reduces costs.
[0069]
In addition, since the degree of variation is small, the electrical energy consumed by the discharge resistor can be small, so that the voltage across each unit cell can be equalized in a short time while suppressing the loss of electrical energy. A method for adjusting the state of charge of the battery can be obtained.
