Description
【0001】

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
The present invention relates to a method for producing a metal catalyst carrier used in, for example, a catalytic converter for automobiles.
[0002]
[Prior art]
Conventionally, as a method for producing this type of metal catalyst carrier, for example, one disclosed in Japanese Patent Laid-Open No. 2-139044 is known.
This will be described with reference to FIGS.
FIG. 3 shows a metal catalyst carrier 5. As will be described later, the metal catalyst carrier 5 is formed by diffusion bonding a metal
[0003]
Next, a method for producing the metal catalyst carrier 5 will be described.
First, as shown in FIG. 4 or FIG. 5, a metal
[0004]
Next, as shown in FIG. 6, this metal
In the vacuum furnace 6, a space for arranging the metal
[0005]
Since the metal catalyst carrier 5 thus configured does not require a brazing material as compared with the conventional brazing method, it is possible to prepare a low-priced and high-strength carrier that is free from oxidative deterioration due to the brazing material. it can.
[0006]
[Problems to be solved by the invention]
However, such a conventional metal catalyst carrier 5 is produced under a high vacuum of 10 −2 to 10 −6 Torr (1.3 Pa to 0.00013 Pa) and a furnace temperature of 850 to 1,200 ° C. Therefore, there is a problem that Al 2 O 3 formed on the surfaces of the
[0007]
Moreover, in diffusion bonding in a high vacuum, there is a problem that the
[0008]
Furthermore, the
Therefore, when the treatment is performed under atmospheric pressure, rapid oxidation of the material occurs, oxide is generated on the surface of the material, and bonding is inhibited. However, the surface oxidation is not all, but the strength of the resulting metal catalyst carrier is weakened due to incomplete bonding.
[0009]
In order to solve this problem, it has been proposed to perform diffusion bonding in an argon gas atmosphere (for example, JP-A-47-33650, JP-A-60-244489, JP-A-64-87085). JP, 7-116522, A, etc.).
However, all of them perform diffusion bonding in a high vacuum, and cannot solve the above-described problems.
[0010]
Further, when a part of air is replaced with nitrogen gas, there is a problem that aluminum nitride is generated and the bonding strength of the metal catalyst carrier is lowered.
The present invention has been made in order to solve such a conventional problem, and an object of the present invention is to provide a production method capable of preventing contamination in a vacuum furnace with a low vacuum and obtaining a high-strength metal catalyst carrier. Is to provide.
[0011]
[Means for Solving the Problems]
According to the first aspect of the present invention, a metal catalyst carrier element is formed by alternately winding or laminating a metal plate and a metal plate, heat-treating the metal catalyst carrier element in a vacuum furnace, and performing diffusion bonding. In a method for producing a metal catalyst carrier that integrally joins a joint between a metal plate and a metal plate, in an argon gas atmosphere, at a pressure of 20 Pa to 200 Pa and a treatment temperature of 1,200 ° C. to 1,250 ° C. for 5 to 30 minutes It is characterized by heat treatment.
[0012]
According to a second aspect of the present invention, in the method for producing a metal catalyst carrier according to the first aspect, the vacuum is generated by a rotary pump.
[0013]
(Function)
In the first and second aspects of the invention, first, a metal catalyst carrier element is formed by alternately winding or laminating metal plates according to a conventional method. Next, this metal catalyst carrier element is placed in a vacuum furnace, and is evacuated by a vacuum pump while flowing an argon gas in the vacuum furnace, so that the pressure is 20 Pa to 200 Pa (about 1.5 × 10 −1 torr to about 1.5 Torr), a high-strength metal catalyst carrier can be obtained by heat treatment at 1,200 ° C. to 1,250 ° C. for 5 to 30 minutes.
[0014]
In the invention described in
[0015]
Further, the reason why the heat treatment temperature is set to 1,200 ° C. to 1,250 ° C. is that the heat treatment temperature needs to be 1,200 ° C. or higher for diffusion bonding, and if it exceeds 1,250 ° C., there is a risk of metal deterioration.
Also, the reason for setting the heat treatment time to 5 to 30 minutes is that if less than 5 minutes, the reaction of covering the periphery of the Fe, Cr, Al alloy structure grains in the material with Al 2 O 3 cannot be completed, and it exceeds 30 minutes. This is because the material may hurt.
[0016]
DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION
Hereinafter, embodiments of the present invention will be described with reference to the drawings.
FIG. 1 is a flowchart showing a method for producing a metal catalyst carrier according to an embodiment of the present invention. FIG. 2 shows the manufacturing apparatus 10.
Prior to the method of manufacturing a metal catalyst carrier according to an embodiment of the present invention, the manufacturing apparatus 10 will be described.
[0017]
The manufacturing apparatus 10 includes a vacuum furnace 11, a heat insulating material 12 disposed therein, an electric heater 14 disposed in a space 13 surrounded by the heat insulating material 12, and an argon gas injection tube inserted in the space 13. 15 and a rotary pump (rotary pump) 16 attached to the vacuum furnace 11, and the pressure in the space 13 feedback controls the injection amount of argon gas and the rotational speed of the rotary pump 16 through a Pirani gauge pressure gauge. It is controlled by doing.
[0018]
Next, a method for producing a metal catalyst carrier according to an embodiment of the present invention will be described with reference to FIG.
First, in the step (a) of FIG. 1, a flat metal plate (Fe-20Cr-5Al alloy) 2 and a corrugated metal plate (Fe-20Cr-5Al alloy) 3 are alternately arranged according to a conventional method. To form a metal catalyst carrier element 1 (corresponding to the metal

Next, in step (c) of FIG. 1, according to a conventional method, the metal
[0021]
Thus, a metal catalyst carrier (corresponding to the metal catalyst carrier 5 shown in FIG. 3) could be obtained.
As described above, in this embodiment, since the vacuum is low, the inside of the vacuum furnace 11 is not contaminated unlike the conventional case.
[0022]
In addition, since the vacuum is low, an expensive diffusion pump is not required as in the prior art, and the rotary pump 16 that is easy to maintain and inexpensive can be used.
In addition, since the heat treatment is performed in an argon gas atmosphere, the formation of aluminum nitride can be suppressed, and a high-strength metal catalyst carrier can be obtained.
In the above embodiment, the metal

[0024]
【The invention's effect】
As described above, according to the first and second aspects of the invention, the metal catalyst carrier element is heat-treated at 1,200 ° C. to 1,250 ° C. for 5 minutes to 30 minutes in an argon gas atmosphere at a low vacuum of 20 Pa to 200 Pa. Therefore, diffusion bonding with suppressed generation of aluminum nitride is possible, and a high-strength metal catalyst carrier can be obtained.
Further, since the vacuum is low, contamination in the vacuum furnace can be prevented as in the conventional case.
In addition, since the vacuum is low, an expensive diffusion pump as in the prior art is not required, and a rotary pump that is easy to maintain and inexpensive can be used.
