BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
The present invention relates to a display terminal including a display unit that displays display information such as characters and images, and an irradiation unit that functions as a backlight of the display unit, and a program executed on the display terminal.
[0002]
[Problems to be solved by the invention]
A portable terminal such as a cellular phone or a portable information terminal has a liquid crystal display (LCD) that displays display information such as characters and images, for example, and also has a back to clarify the character information displayed on the liquid crystal display. For example, a light emitting diode (LED) for light is generally provided.
[0003]
By the way, in the case of a transmissive type in which the backlight LED irradiates the liquid crystal display from the back side by a well-known light guide method, if the irradiation level at which the backlight LED irradiates the liquid crystal display is set relatively large, Even if the light is very bright, the illumination light emitted from the backlight LED is relatively stronger than sunlight, so the display information displayed on the liquid crystal display becomes clear and the display information is accurately displayed. Although it can be recognized, when the surroundings are relatively dark, since the irradiation light is too strong than sunlight, there is a problem that it is difficult to recognize display information displayed on the liquid crystal display.
[0004]
On the other hand, if the illumination level at which the backlight LED illuminates the liquid crystal display is set to be relatively small, even if the surroundings are relatively dark, the illumination light will respond to sunlight. However, if the surroundings are extremely bright, the irradiation light is too weak compared to sunlight. There is a problem that it becomes difficult to recognize display information displayed on the liquid crystal display.
[0005]
In order to solve such a problem, a configuration is considered in which the backlight LED irradiates the liquid crystal display according to the operation of a predetermined key by the user. Then, every time the ambient brightness changes, there is a problem that the user needs to operate the key to adjust the irradiation level, and the operation is troublesome.
[0006]
The present invention has been made in view of the above-described circumstances, and an object of the present invention is to automatically adjust the irradiation level at which the irradiating unit irradiates the display unit according to the use environment. An object of the present invention is to provide a display terminal and a program capable of accurately recognizing display information displayed on a display unit according to a use environment.
[0007]
[Means for Solving the Problems]
According to the display terminal of the first aspect, in the display terminal including a display unit that displays characters, images, and the like and an irradiation unit that functions as a backlight of the display unit, the irradiation level adjustment unit includes the irradiation unit. Irradiation level for illuminating the display means Who The display surface of the display means detected by the position detection means In place Because it was configured to adjust based on , table From the orientation of the display surface, it can be estimated what kind of usage environment , The irradiation level at which the irradiation means illuminates the display means can be automatically adjusted according to the usage environment. , Thus, the user can accurately recognize the display information displayed on the display unit according to the use environment.
[0008]
Specifically, for example, in a transmission type in which the irradiation means irradiates the display means from the back side , If the place is facing south, , Thick It can be assumed that the sunlight is sufficiently applied to the display surface of the liquid crystal display. At this time, the irradiation means sets the irradiation level to irradiate the display means to be relatively large. Conversely , If the place is facing north, , Thick It can be assumed that the sunlight is not sufficiently applied to the display surface of the liquid crystal display. At this time, the irradiation means irradiates the display means so that the irradiation level is set to be relatively small. Can accurately recognize the display information displayed on the display means according to the use environment.
[0009]
According to the display terminal of the second aspect, the irradiation level adjusting means determines the irradiation level at which the irradiation means irradiates the display means, the timing at which the key is operated by the key operation means, and the human body is disposed in the main body. Since the adjustment is made at the timing of touching the touch sensor, the user is likely to see the display information displayed on the display means after the user operates the key or touches the touch sensor. Therefore, it is possible to adjust the irradiation level at an accurate timing according to the user's operation, whereby the display displayed on the display means after the user operates the key or touches the touch sensor. Information can be quickly and accurately recognized according to the usage environment.
[0010]
According to the display terminal of the third aspect, the irradiation level adjusting means controls the irradiation level at which the irradiation means irradiates the display means, the timing at which the paging channel detection means detects the paging channel from the base station, and refresh operation control. Since the device is configured to adjust the timing when the display device performs a refresh operation for countermeasures against static electricity, the display terminal is placed on a dedicated table or stored in a basket, for example. However, it is possible to adjust the irradiation level at a predetermined timing regardless of the user's operation, so that the user can display it on the display means without operating the key or touching the touch sensor. Display information can be quickly and accurately recognized according to the usage environment.

The present invention is not limited to the above-described embodiments, and can be modified or expanded as follows.
The configuration is not limited to a configuration applied to a mobile phone, and may be a configuration applied to another configuration such as a portable information terminal.
[0047]
Not limited to the configuration in which the backlight LED illuminates the liquid crystal display from the back side and the reflective LED in which the backlight LED illuminates the liquid crystal display from the front side, but also applies to a transflective type In this case, the irradiation level may be determined in accordance with the transflective characteristics.
[0048]
The configuration may be such that the irradiation level is determined based on the reception sensitivity of the radio wave for telephone communication transmitted from the base station, not limited to the reception sensitivity of the GPS radio wave transmitted from the GPS satellite.
When a map of a necessary area is not stored in the RAM, a configuration in which a map of the necessary area is received from the network may be used.
[0049]
When the timing at which one of the keys is operated is set as the dimming timing, the dimming is not limited to the configuration in which the key is adjusted every time any key is operated. Then, until a predetermined time elapses, even if any other key is operated, it may be configured not to be dimmed. In addition, when the timing at which the human body touches the touch sensor is set as the dimming timing, the dimming is not limited to a configuration in which the human body touches the touch sensor every time the human body touches the touch sensor. Until the predetermined time elapses, even if the human body touches the touch sensor again, a configuration in which the light is not adjusted may be used.
[0050]
For each dimming condition, for example, “5 points” when the mobile phone is indoors, “1 point” when the mobile phone is indoors, etc. The configuration may be such that the backlight LED irradiates the liquid crystal display according to the total number of dimming conditions being performed.
[0051]
For example, when the combination of specific dimming conditions satisfies a predetermined condition, such as when the time is “daytime” and the direction is “south”, the backlight is used regardless of the other dimming conditions. For example, the LED may be configured to determine a relatively large irradiation level for irradiating the liquid crystal display.
[0052]
The program executed by the mobile phone is not limited to the program stored in the mobile phone from the beginning (for example, at the stage of commercialization), but may be downloaded from a specific server to the mobile phone through a network, or may be a CD-ROM or a card. It may be transferred from a recording medium and installed.
