本発明は、印字された連続用紙あるいはぺージ単位用紙から得た単位用紙を1単位として丁合し、ステープル等で綴じあわせ冊子に製本する製本装置に関する。前記連続用紙は、両側近傍に沿って長手方向に伸びるマージン切り取り用ミシン目と、一定間隔をおいて幅方向に伸びる複数の裁断用ミシン目とが設けられ、各ミシン目によって区分された単位用紙となる区画内に事項欄があらかじめ印刷され、各事項欄に所定事項が各別にページプリンタ(図示せず)で印字されている。そして、単位用紙は表紙となるものとこの単位用紙と丁合すべき1単位を成すよう連設されている。また、ぺージ単位用紙は、1ぺージを複数に裁断して1丁合単位の単位用紙としたものである。
