Description
【0001】

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
The present invention relates to a polarization diversity antenna device used as an antenna for a mobile communication base station such as a mobile phone.
[0002]
[Prior art]
Conventionally, an antenna for a mobile communication base station such as a mobile phone normally performs communication by diversity reception using two systems (two branches) or more Yagi antennas in order to improve communication quality. When diversity reception (spatial diversity) is performed using a Yagi-type antenna, it is usually necessary to install two or more antennas at predetermined intervals. However, it may not be installed in an ideal environment due to restrictions such as installation space and aesthetic issues.
[0003]
FIG. 7 shows a conventional installation example in the case of performing diversity reception using a Yagi-type antenna, where (a) is a plan view and (b) is a side view. In the installation example shown in FIG. 7, two Yagi

[0006]
[Problems to be solved by the invention]
However, the conventional diversity reception method has a plurality of antennas, and if the installation space for the number of antennas cannot be secured, or if a plurality of antennas cannot be installed due to aesthetic issues, diversity reception cannot be performed. There was a problem.
[0007]
Here, the antenna interval D is set to be equal to or greater than a predetermined distance in order to maintain diversity performance and to suppress a path in which a transmission wave from one antenna travels to the receiver via the other antenna. Since it is necessary to suppress the amount of coupling, the antenna interval D cannot be reduced.
[0008]
In general, when the distance between two antennas approaches, there is a problem that the performance of a single unit deteriorates and the polarization plane is significantly disturbed. In particular, in the case of the polarization diversity method, there is no reason to spatially separate them other than to suppress this performance deterioration, and it is ideal to combine them into one if possible, and this is a problem.
[0009]
In addition, since a mobile phone carried by a person does not necessarily have an appropriate antenna angle, it is desired that a linearly polarized wave having an angle of 45 degrees suitable for a mobile phone can be transmitted and received, particularly in the sight range.
[0010]
Another problem is that the shorter the distance between a feature that reflects and scatters radio waves and the mobile station, the higher the spatial correlation between branches unless the antenna spacing D is increased in the spatial diversity method. Since it is difficult to obtain a diversity effect, for example, when communicating with a mobile station located in a narrow space such as in a tunnel, the antenna interval D must be very large. A large installation space was required.
[0011]
In addition, multiple mounting brackets, including mounting brackets, will be required, and these will increase in size. Considering the mechanical strength in terms of mass and wind-receiving load, the mounting struts must be correspondingly large. Further, it is difficult to secure a space, and the appearance is inferior, and the construction workability is not easy.
[0012]
The present invention has been made in order to solve the above-described problems, and aims to improve coupling loss in a cross-type Yagi antenna and is intended for application to polarization diversity. The focused polarization diversity method uses the difference in the polarization plane of the received wave, and the purpose is achieved if there is no correlation between the received polarizations. Therefore, the spatial correlation between branches like the space diversity system is not required. For these reasons, in Yagi-type antennas for mobile communication base stations such as mobile phones, it is possible to receive diversity transmission and diversity transmission of linearly polarized waves in the installation space for one antenna, and it is small, lightweight, An object of the present invention is to provide a polarization diversity antenna device that is not easily restricted, is economical and aesthetically pleasing, can be attached to either a vertical support or a horizontal support, and has good workability.
Another object of the present invention is to provide a method for manufacturing a diversity antenna that is easy to manufacture and can be reduced in cost.
[0013]
[Means for Solving the Problems]
The polarization diversity antenna device according to the present invention provides a central axis of two multi-element Yagi antennas, each of which has a square arm with the central axis aligned with the tip of an insulating cylinder, and is composed of a plurality of waveguide elements, radiating elements, and reflecting elements. The center axis of each antenna element that is a pair of the two antennas intersects at the center of each antenna element, and the antenna elements intersect each other. The antenna elements are arranged orthogonally so that is the central axis of the insulating cylinder and the square arm, and the antenna element is arranged at an angle of approximately 45 ° with respect to the ground, and 2 above the insulating cylinder and the square arm. Configure the system antenna,
While mounting the radiating element and the reflective element on the insulating cylinder,
The waveguide element is provided with four comb-shaped element portions connected to each other at a predetermined width and a predetermined interval on a side portion of a rectangular element support portion by a single punch plate, and the rectangular element support portion. The two comb-shaped element portions are bent at a right angle so that the four comb-shaped element portions are positioned in a cross shape on the same plane to form two pairs of waveguide elements. The square arm is mounted on the element support portion bent into the square shape .
[0014]
Diversity reception can be performed with an apparently one antenna by forming two antennas by arranging the antenna elements to be paired orthogonally and arranged in a cross shape as described above. In addition, since the area when the other antenna element is viewed from one antenna element is only the cross-sectional area of the element at the intersection of the central axes of the antenna elements, the electric field component that is coupled even though the antenna elements are close to each other Is suppressed, and good coupling amount characteristics are obtained between the antennas between the two systems. Therefore, diversity reception and diversity transmission is possible in the installation space for one antenna, and linearly polarized waves required for mobile phones can be transmitted and received, and it is compact and lightweight, is not subject to installation location restrictions, and is economical. Can be.
[0015]
Also, by fabricating the antenna element in one piece by bending the element terminal portion and the element supporting portion one vent plate, easier integration with respect to the angular arm together with the support table or the like of the element is not required, Costs can be reduced in all aspects including materials, processing, and integration.

【The invention's effect】
As described above in detail, according to the present invention, the four antenna elements are arranged in a cross shape to form two systems of antennas, so that it is possible to perform diversity reception with one antenna in appearance. In addition, since the area when the other antenna element is viewed from one antenna element is only the cross-sectional area of the element at the intersection of the central axes of the antenna elements, the electric field component that is coupled even though the antenna elements are close to each other Is suppressed, and a good coupling amount characteristic is obtained between the antennas between the two systems. Therefore, it is possible to place a transmission wave on one branch of the reception diversity antenna, and it can be used as a transmission diversity antenna. In other words, diversity reception and diversity transmission are possible in the installation space for one antenna, and linearly polarized waves required for mobile phones can be transmitted and received. A great effect is obtained.
[0046]
Further, since each antenna element is formed to be 90 ° rotationally symmetric with respect to the antenna central axis, by rotating the entire antenna including the antenna mounting bracket by 90 ° or −90 ° with respect to the antenna central axis, The antenna element can be mounted on either a vertical column or a horizontal column without changing the installation angle of the antenna element with respect to the ground.
[0047]
In addition, the diversity antenna manufacturing method according to the present invention is such that an antenna element is manufactured as a single piece by bending an element part and an element support part with a single punch plate, and a square-shaped support structure is formed with respect to a square arm. The combined antenna element structure eliminates the need for an element support base and makes it easy to incorporate into a square arm, enabling cost reductions in all aspects, including materials, processing, and assembly, and yield. It can be improved and the coupling loss can be improved.
