Description

【0001】

[0001]
BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
The present invention relates to a printing method when an ink ribbon travels abnormally in a dot printer that performs printing in a dot matrix format using a printing element.
[0002]
[Prior art]
FIG. 3 shows an outline of the printing mechanism of the dot printer.
[0003]
The hammer bank 1 has a plurality of leaf springs, a plurality of printing pins attached to the free ends of the respective leaf springs, and a rear surface side of the attachment surface of the leaf spring printing pins, and a magnetic attraction force of a permanent magnet. It has a pole part that sucks and holds the leaf spring, and a printing element that consists of a coil that is wound around this pole part and supplies a release current so that the leaf spring is released from the magnetic force during printing. It is integrated by the base part which fixes an edge part.
[0004]
The hammer bank 1 having a plurality of printing elements is reciprocally moved (hereinafter referred to as shuttle) in the digit direction (direction A) by a driving force of a shuttle mechanism (not shown). The feeding mechanism 4 is configured to complete printing of one line while repeating the conveyance of the printing paper 3 in the digit direction and the vertical direction (B direction) a plurality of times.
[0005]
The hammer bank 1 is disposed with the ink ribbon 2 and the printing paper 3 sandwiched therebetween and opposed to the platen 5 for supporting the printing force, and the printing element is in a state where the hammer bank 1 is shuttled. The character, figure, and the like are transferred to the printing paper 3 in the form of a dot matrix through the ink ribbon 2 every time the is driven.
[0006]
In the dot printer configured as described above, the printing operation is performed as shown in FIG. That is, during the first shuttle of the hammer bank 1, the printing element is driven to perform printing at a predetermined position of the printing paper, and when the hammer bank is reversed, the printing paper is conveyed by a predetermined amount, and then the second time of the hammer bank. In the process of the shuttle, printing is performed at a predetermined position. When the hammer bank is reversed, the printing paper is conveyed by a predetermined amount. Further, in the process of the third shuttle of the hammer bank, printing is performed at the predetermined position. Then, the printing paper is conveyed to the next line printing start position, and printing of one line is completed.
[0007]
On the other hand, as shown in FIG. 4, the ink ribbon 2 circulates endlessly while being wound by a pair of rotating ribbon rollers 6, and the ribbon sensor 7 monitors the travel of the ink ribbon 2 to detect the ink ribbon 2. Is prevented from being lost due to intermittent driving of the printing element during abnormal running.
[0008]
Normally, when the ribbon sensor 7 senses the abnormal running of the ink ribbon 2, only the shuttle of the hammer bank 1 that is in the middle of the shuttle when the abnormal running of the ink ribbon is sensed drives the printing element to perform printing. However, after the hammer bank 1 is reversed, an empty shuttle is performed, and the normal printing operation is resumed after the traveling of the ink ribbon 2 returns to normal. That is, when an abnormality in the ink ribbon is detected during the first or second shuttle shown in FIG. 2, the shuttle operation and printing of the next hammer bank are interrupted, and an empty shuttle is executed. .
[0009]
[Problems to be solved by the invention]
As described above, in a dot printer in which a hammer bank having a plurality of printing elements is moved a plurality of times in the digit direction by the shuttle mechanism unit to complete printing of one line, an empty run in the middle of printing of one line due to abnormal running of the ink ribbon. When the shuttle is performed, there is a problem that the printing paper is likely to float in the paper transport direction due to vibration generated by the hammer bank shuttle operation, and a white gap (hereinafter, white stripe) is generated at the position where printing is interrupted.
[0010]
[Means for Solving the Problems]
In view of the above problems, the present invention provides a hammer bank having a plurality of printing elements, a shuttle mechanism for reciprocating the hammer bank in the digit direction, a paper feed mechanism for conveying printing paper, and the printing A platen for supporting the printing force of the paper, an ink ribbon for transferring characters, figures, etc. to the printing paper by the printing force of the printing element; and a ribbon running detection means for detecting a running abnormality of the ink ribbon; In the dot printer that prints one line by repeating the driving of the printing element and the paper feeding operation by the tractor in the course of the reciprocating movement of the bank, the ribbon running detection means detects the abnormal running of the ink ribbon. In addition, after finishing the line-by-line printing operation, an empty shuttle for returning the ribbon was performed.
[0011]
DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION
The printing method according to the present invention prevents the occurrence of white stripes by always interrupting the printing operation due to an abnormal running of the ink ribbon after the line-by-line printing operation is completed. The present invention will be described below.
[0012]
FIG. 1 shows a flowchart of the printing method of the dot printer of the present invention. As shown in FIG. 1, according to the printing method of the present invention, the empty shuttle that is performed to prevent the missing transfer due to the intermittent driving of the printing element at the time of the abnormal running of the ink ribbon always completes the line-by-line printing operation. Changed the printing method to be done after that.
[0013]
【The invention's effect】
As described above, the empty shuttle, which is performed to prevent the transfer omission due to intermittent drive of the printing element when the ink ribbon travels abnormally, must be performed after the line-by-line printing operation is completed. Thus, white streaks can be prevented and the print quality can be improved.
