BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
The present invention relates to a method for manufacturing a tapered square pipe member suitable for a rear swing arm or the like of a motorcycle.
[0002]
[Prior art]
The rear swing arm of a motorcycle uses a tapered pipe with a vertically long rectangular cross section. An example of this production method is described in JP-A-2-286488 and JP-A-2-286487.
[0003]
In any of these, a round pipe is first formed, and a taper pipe is formed by a rotary swaging process in which a die is rotated around the raw pipe and then crushed and formed into a square cross section by bulge processing or compression molding. To do.
[0004]
[Problems to be solved by the invention]
By the way, the above-mentioned conventional example requires a total of two processes, that is, rotational swaging and subsequent bulging or compression molding until a square pipe is obtained from a round pipe, and has a relatively large number of processing steps. In addition, since the rotary swaging process is adopted, each wall portion in the longitudinal section can vary in thickness, but each wall portion in the transverse section, that is, the section orthogonal to the longitudinal direction, has a uniform wall thickness. It is thick. Accordingly, it is impossible to efficiently secure the section modulus by arbitrarily setting the wall thickness of each wall portion in the transverse section.
[0005]
On the other hand, in the rear swing arm of a motorcycle, how to apply a load is different in the vertical and horizontal directions, so that the thickness of the pipe member can be varied unevenly in the vertical and horizontal directions. desired. However, such uneven thickness molding is not possible with the conventional molding method. The present invention aims to realize such a demand. Note that the vertical and horizontal directions of the pipe member are expressed as the vertical direction in the longitudinal direction of the cross section and the horizontal direction as the direction perpendicular to the vertical direction. Further, the front means the traveling direction of the vehicle body when used as a rear swing arm of a motorcycle.
[0006]
[Means for Solving the Problems]
In order to solve the above problems, a first invention relating to a method of manufacturing a tapered square pipe member according to the present invention uses a square pipe blank extruded into a square cross section, and at least a part of the wall surface of the square pipe blank is long. In the manufacturing method of a tapered pipe member with a taper to be tapered in the length direction ,
Upper, lower, left and right of the walls, is Hen'niku the thickness of the part of the wall portion so as to be different from the other wall portion, and the inner wall surface or the outside of at least a part of the wall constituting the angle pipe raw pipe as well as the shape formed in advance integrally with the ribs extending in the longitudinal direction on the wall,
The taper molding inserts the square pipe element tube into an inner space of a die that is divided into a plurality of dies so as to surround the square pipe element tube and move in the direction perpendicular to the axis. It is characterized in that the unevenly tapered taper shape is obtained by inserting a core die pre-tapered inside and performing non-rotational swaging to move the die in the direction perpendicular to the axis .
[0007]
According to a second aspect of the present invention, at least a part of the wall surface of the square pipe element tube is formed in a taper shape in the length direction, and the internal space of the square pipe element tube is partitioned into a plurality of pieces in advance by an integral partition extending in the length direction. It is characterized by that.
[0009]
According to a third aspect of the present invention, in the first aspect, the tapered portion is formed on one end side in the length direction, and the wall of the other end portion that is not tapered is formed in the longitudinal section of the wall portion orthogonal to the taper forming surface. A portion having a relationship of T1> T2 is formed at least partially between the thickness T1 and the thickness T2 of the taper-molded side end portion.
[0010]
A fourth aspect of the present invention is the chamber according to the third aspect, wherein, among the chambers partitioned by the partition wall, the side walls of the chambers that do not have a tapered wall surface are provided with the tapered wall surfaces. It is characterized by being thinner than the side wall.
[0011]
【The invention's effect】
According to the first aspect of the present invention, an extruded square pipe element tube is used, and at least a part of each of the upper, lower, left and right wall portions constituting the square cross section is thicker than the other wall portions. It is possible to extrude with uneven thickness freely so that it becomes a part.
In addition, by forming under an arbitrary thickness condition that is thicker than other wall portions, the wall thickness can be changed for each of the upper, lower, left and right wall portions, and the section modulus can be efficiently ensured.
Furthermore, by forming the inner wall surface or the outer wall surface of a part of the wall portion with an integral rib extending in the length direction, the rigidity of the entire pipe member can be enhanced by the rib reinforcing structure.
[0012]
Also, at least a part of the wall surface of the square pipe is formed into a taper shape in the length direction while maintaining the same wall thickness condition as that of the square pipe by non-rotating swaging. it can.
[0013]
According to the second aspect of the invention, the internal space of the square pipe element pipe is partitioned into a plurality of pieces by an integral partition extending in the length direction in advance , whereby the rigidity of the entire pipe member, such as a Japanese character shape or an eye shape, is improved. A cross-sectional shape known as a heightened cross-sectional shape can be arbitrarily adopted.
[0014]
According to the third invention, when one end in the length direction is tapered, the wall portion separated from the tapered surface by the partition wall becomes thin due to elongation accompanying the taper forming. Therefore, if the thickness of this portion is T2, and the thickness at the other end on the longitudinal section passing through this portion is T1, T1> T2. On the other hand, the wall portion between the taper molding surface and the partition wall has a thickness shift from the taper molding surface, so that the wall thickness does not change so much, and the thickness of this portion is approximately T1. Therefore, a thickness change can be caused partially in the length direction.
[0015]
According to the fourth invention, Oite to the third inventions, plurality of chambers partitioned by the partition wall, the side wall of the chamber with no wall is formed into a tapered shape, is formed into a tapered shape If the wall is thinner than the side wall of the chamber having a wall surface, unevenness in the wall thickness at the time of taper molding can be corrected, so that generation of cracks associated with taper molding can be prevented .
[0016]
DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION
First, as a method for manufacturing a tapered square pipe member as a premise of the present invention, a method for manufacturing a rear swing arm of a motorcycle will be described with reference to FIGS. In addition, the square pipe member with a taper demonstrated here is equivalent to what simplified the object member of this invention, and is a hollow pipe which does not have a rib or a partition inside. However, even such a pipe member can explain the first step and the second step of the present invention except for the formation of ribs and partition walls.
