Description
【0001】

[0006]
Furthermore, the
[0007]
The present invention has been made in order to solve the above-described problems. By projecting light from a point light source into a linear shape through a linear light source, and then entering the light guide plate, It is an object of the present invention to provide a surface light source device capable of uniformizing the intensity of incident light at the light incident end surface and uniforming in-plane luminance. It is another object of the present invention to provide a surface light source device that can maintain luminance even when the number of point light sources is reduced.
[0008]
[Means for Solving the Problems]
In order to achieve the above object, the invention of
[0009]
In this configuration, a part of the light projected from the point light source is repeatedly reflected in the linear light source forming means to be converted into a linear light source, and then incident on the light guide plate, and is converted into a surface light source in the light guide plate. In this way, the light projected from the point light source becomes light that is made uniform in a direction parallel to the incident side of the light guide plate by the line light source forming means, and is coupled to the light incident end face of the light guide plate.
[0010]
Also, Part of the light projected from the point light source is converted into a linear light source after being repeatedly reflected between the light incident end surface of the light guide plate and the side surface of the linear light guide facing the light incident end surface of the light guide plate. The light is incident on the light plate and turned into a surface light source.
[0012]
Also, The light emitted from the point light source is totally reflected at the part facing through the air layer gap, and is emitted from the linear light guide to the light guide plate at the connected part. While propagating in a direction parallel to the incident side, a part of the light can be incident on the light guide plate and spread linearly.
[0015]
Also, The linear light guide has a shape in which the thickness width decreases as the distance from the point light source increases, and the side surface opposite to the side facing the light incident end surface of the light guide plate in the linear light guide, In addition, a reflecting plate may be disposed on the end surface facing the point light source. In this configuration, the light projected from the point light source in the direction parallel to the incident side of the light guide plate is a side surface of the linear light guide opposite to the side facing the light incident end surface of the light guide plate, and a point. The light is reflected by the reflecting plate disposed on the end surface facing the light source and directed to the light incident end surface of the light guide plate. Thereby, light can be emitted more efficiently than a rectangular light guide.
In addition, since the reflecting plate is disposed on the side of the linear light guide opposite to the side facing the light incident end of the light guide plate and the end facing the point light source, light leakage is reduced and light is efficiently transmitted. The light can be emitted toward the light guide plate.
Moreover, the element which raises the directivity to the parallel direction of the emitted light from this side surface may be arrange | positioned on the side surface facing the light-incidence end surface of the light-guide plate in a linear light guide. Thereby, the light emitted obliquely from the linear light guide can be made parallel by the element, and the in-plane luminance can be made uniform.
Further, a diffusion sheet may be disposed on the side surface of the linear light guide facing the light incident end surface of the light guide plate with an air layer interposed therebetween. Thereby, the emitted light from the linear light guide can be made to be light diffused by the diffusion sheet and mixed almost uniformly, and the in-plane luminance can be made uniform.
In addition, a periodic diffusion pattern may be provided on the surface of the side surface of the linear light guide that faces the light incident end surface of the light guide plate. Thereby, the light emitted obliquely from the linear light guide can be made parallel by the diffusion pattern and incident on the light guide plate, and the in-plane luminance can be made uniform.
In addition, a non-periodic diffusion pattern may be provided on the surface of the side surface of the linear light guide opposite to the light incident end surface of the light guide plate, and a periodic diffusion pattern may be provided on the surface of the light incident end surface of the light guide plate. . Thereby, since the light radiate | emitted diagonally from a linear light guide can be parallelized by both diffusion patterns, in-plane brightness | luminance can be equalize | homogenized.
In addition, a periodic diffusion pattern may be provided on the side surface opposite to the side surface facing the light incident end surface of the light guide plate in the linear light guide. This allows light emitted or reflected from the point light source in the direction opposite to the side opposite to the light incident end face to pass through the periodic diffusion pattern to be diffused and almost uniformly mixed light. The inner brightness can be made uniform.
Further, a regular reflection tape may be attached to the upper surface of the optical coupling portion between the upper surface of the linear light guide and the light guide plate. Thereby, since the light emitted from the linear light guide is reflected by the specular reflection tape and enters the light guide plate, light leakage is reduced and light can be efficiently emitted toward the light guide plate. .
Further, a light emitting module including a point light source and a reflection wall that suppresses the spread of light projected from the point light source may be provided, and light emitted from the light emitting module may be combined with a linear light guide. . Thereby, the light projection from the point light source can be reflected by the reflecting wall to suppress the spread, and can be emitted toward the linear light guide efficiently.
In addition, the point light source and the linear light guide plate may be integrated, thereby reducing the number of parts and reducing the size of the apparatus.
[0016]
Also, It may be narrower as the air layer gap moves away from the point light source. This makes it easier for light emitted from the point light source to be emitted from the linear light guide to the light guide plate as the distance from the point light source increases, so that the amount of light emitted to the light guide plate in a direction parallel to the incident side is substantially uniform, The in-plane luminance can be made uniform.
Further, the corner portion of the end surface facing the point light source of the linear light guide may be rounded, and the light projected toward the corner portion of the end surface may be reflected at this corner portion. This can improve the emission efficiency of the light guide.
Further, the light incident end face of at least two sides of the light guide plate may be connected to the linear light guide, and thereby, the linear light guide from the light incident end face of two or more sides is linear. Therefore, the in-plane luminance is uniform as compared with the case where the linear light guide is connected to one side.
In addition, the point light source is an end face of the linear light guide, and is disposed at the corner of the light incident end face of the light guide plate, and is provided with an end face that allows a part of the light from the point light source to directly enter the light guide plate. Accordingly, luminance unevenness generated in a diagonal region extending from the point light source of the light guide plate can be suppressed.
In addition, the linear light guide and the light guide plate may be formed by integral molding, thereby reducing parts and man-hours.

【The invention's effect】
As described above, according to the first aspect of the present invention, the light emitted from the point light source is converted into a line light source by the linear light source forming means, and the light converted to the line light source is converted into a surface light source by the light guide plate. The in-plane luminance can be made uniform as compared with the case where light is directly incident on the light guide plate.
[0043]
Also, By making the linear light source means a linear light guide having a surface that is in contact with the light incident end face of the light guide plate through the air layer, the light projection from the point light source is connected to the light incident end face of the light guide plate and the linear light guide. Since reflection is repeated between the surface of the body facing the light incident end face of the light guide plate, the light that has been made into a linear light source can be made incident on the light guide plate, and the in-plane luminance can be made uniform.
[0045]
Also, Since the linear light guide and the light guide plate are connected to at least one of the upper and lower surfaces thereof, and the portions other than the connected portions are opposed to each other through the air layer gap, the light projection from the point light source is performed on the light guide. While propagating in a direction parallel to the incident side, a part of the light can be incident on the light guide plate and spread linearly. Thereby, the intensity | strength of the incident light in the light-incidence end surface of a light-guide plate can be made uniform, and in-plane brightness | luminance can be equalize | homogenized.
