本発明は、液晶表示装置に係るものであり、特に液晶表示装置を構成する、液晶表示素子を配設するためのケースに設ける緩衝部材に関する。

図11は、従来の液晶表示装置の斜視図、図12は、従来の液晶表示装置の分解斜視図、図13は、従来の液晶表示装置の組立を示す説明図である。
合成樹脂の成型品からなり、上部が開放された箱形のケース21は、底面板21aと、底面板21aの外周に設けられた4つの側壁21bと、底面板21aから上方に突出した凸条部からなる複数の支持部材21cと、側壁21bの外側面下部に設けられた複数個の凹部21dとで構成されている。

また、従来の液晶表示装置の組立後に、衝撃や静荷重等の外部応力が加えられても、同様に緩衝部材23が上下方向に縮められて外部応力を吸収し、液晶表示素子22の破損が防止される。

しかしながら、液晶表示素子22に取り付ける、ゴムからなる緩衝部材23の材料コストが掛かるとともに、液晶表示装置の製造工程において、液晶表示素子22に緩衝部材23を取り付ける工程が増えることとなり、従来の液晶表示装置の製造コストの上昇を招いていた。

【課題を解決するための手段】
前記課題を解決するための第1の解決手段として、本発明の液晶表示素子は、液晶表示素子と、該液晶表示素子を上下で挟持して取り付けるケースと取付部材とを備え、前記ケース又は前記取付部材と一体に、前記液晶表示素子に当接して、上下方向に移動可能な凸部を有する緩衝部材を設け、前記ケースには側壁、又は前記取付部材には上面板を設け、前記側壁又は前記上面板には、2つの平行なスリット間に位置して上下方向に撓み可能な第1の撓み部を設け、第1の前記緩衝部材を、前記第1の撓み部と、前記第1の撓み部に形成された前記凸部とで構成し、前記側壁又は前記上面板には、前記凸部の近傍に、前記凸部よりも低い、前記液晶表示素子に当接可能な規制突起部を設けた構成とした。

【発明の実施の形態】

爪部1cは、外側の側壁1bの外側面に複数個設けられ、外側の側壁1bの上部から下部へ行くに従って、外側の側壁1bの外側面からの突出高さが漸次大きくなるように形成されている。また、爪部1cの下面は、底面板1aと略平行になるように設けられている。また、凹部1dは、図7に示すように、外側の側壁1bの底面板1aと連結している内側面下部の厚肉とされた部分に設けられている。また、空隙部1eは、爪部1cが設けられている外側の側壁1bの裏側の厚肉部を除して設けられている。また、誘導突起部1fは、外側の側壁1bの外側面が厚肉とされ、外側面から突出して複数個設けられている。また、誘導溝1gは、2つの誘導突起部1fの、底面板1aと垂直、且つ対向した2つの面が形成する間隙により構成されている。この誘導溝1gは、少なくとも相対向する2つの外側の側壁1bに設けられる。また、ストッパー1hは、外側の側壁1bの外側面の下部が厚肉とされ、外側面に突出して複数個設けられ、その上面は底面板1aと略平行とされている。

また、取付部材7がケース1に取り付けられた状態では、位置決め孔7d内から位置決めボス1nの先端部が外部より視認できる程度に突出している。また、腕部7fの係止部7iの上端と、爪部1cの下面とが接触して係止されている。

本発明の液晶表示装置を組み立てるには、まず、ケース1内の所定位置に、導光体5及びランプ6を収納し、次にプリント基板3がプリントフィルム4により電気的に接続された液晶表示素子2を、第1の緩衝部材1k及び第2の緩衝部材1lの凸部D上に載置して、導光体5の上部に配設する。この際、第2の緩衝部材1lの凸部Dは、液晶表示素子2の角部に当接し、第1の緩衝部材1kの凸部Dは、液晶表示素子2の外周部の2つの角部の間に位置する、1〜4つの辺部に当接する。次に、誘導片7gを、誘導溝1gをガイドとして挿入すると共に、位置決めボス1nが位置決め孔7dに嵌合、位置決めさせて、取付部材7をケース1の上方に被せる。次に、誘導片7gを誘導溝1gで案内させながら、腕部7fの係止部7iを爪部1cの傾斜面に当接させ、係止部7iの上端が爪部1cの下面を越えるまで、取付部材7をケース1に押し付けて圧入する。この際、爪部1cが設けられている外側の側壁1bは、その裏側に設けられている空隙部1e方向へ撓むため、腕部7fの圧入がスムーズに行われる。また、取付部材7を押し付けた際に、ストッパー1hの上面が取付部材7の側面板7eの下端と当接し、過剰な押し付けを規制するとともに、第1の緩衝部材1k及び第2の緩衝部材1lの凸部Dを有する第1、第2の撓み部T1、T2が下方へ撓むことにより、押し付け力を吸収し、液晶表示素子2に余分な力が加わるのを防ぐ。また、取付部材7の押し付けがより過度になされた場合には、液晶表示素子2の下方への押し付けによる、第1、第2の撓み部T1、T2の過剰な撓みを規制突起部1mが規制する。このようにして、本発明の液晶表示装置の組み立てが完了する。

【発明の効果】
本発明の液晶表示装置によれば、ケースには、側壁、又は前記取付部材には、上面板を設け、側壁又は前記上面板には、2つの平行なスリット間に位置して上下方向に撓み可能な第1の撓み部を設け、第1の緩衝部材を、第1の撓み部と、第1の撓み部に形成された凸部とで構成し、側壁又は上面板には、凸部の近傍に、凸部よりも低い、液晶表示素子に当接可能な規制突起部を設けたことにより、新たな緩衝部材を設ける必要が無く、ケース又は取付部材の製造時に同時に形成できるため、液晶表示装置の製造コストの上昇を防ぐことができる。また、緩衝部材は、圧力を加えられても液晶表示素子の表示に悪影響を及ぼすことが無い。
また、第1の緩衝部材を、第1の撓み部と、この第1の撓み部に形成された凸部とで構成したことにより、液晶表示装置の組み立て時や組み立て後に、上下方向に外部応力が加えられた場合に、液晶表示素子に加わる過剰な力を吸収して破損を防止することができる。
更に、凸部の近傍に、凸部よりも低い、規制突起部を設けたことにより、過度の外部応力が加えられた場合に、液晶表示素子の下方への押し付けによって、撓み部が過剰に撓むのを規制突起部が規制して、撓み部の破損を防止することができる。
