BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
The present invention relates to an image processing system having a scanning device and a printing device each incorporating an image processing circuit for processing image data with a predetermined specification.
[0002]
[Prior art]
Along with recent advances in information processing technology, in recent years, various image processing systems have been marketed by many manufacturers, and various image processing systems have become popular. As such an image processing system, for example, a scanner that optically reads a document and converts it into electronic image data and a printer that prints received image data on a recording medium are well known. These scanners and printers are generally used individually connected to a personal computer or connected to each other. In the former case, both devices transmit image data through the personal computer, while the latter is used. In this case, the image data is directly transmitted.
In particular, in the latter case where an image processing system is configured in which a scanner and a printer are connected to each other to perform copying, a predetermined image processing circuit is usually incorporated in each of the above devices, and image data is stored in the image data of each device. It is transmitted between both devices while being processed in the processing circuit.
[0003]
By the way, in such an image processing system, the scanner and the printer usually have specific specifications regarding resolution, color / monochrome, and the number of gradations, and each device processes image data based on the specifications. It has become so. At this time, in order for the image data to be sequentially processed by the image processing circuit in each device and a copy having a desired quality is created, the image data needs to be processed with the same specifications in the image processing circuits of both devices. is there. For this reason, scanners and printers having specific specifications are connected to each other having the same specifications.
In this way, when both the scanner and the printer have specific specifications, the compatibility with other connected devices is poor. For example, when a printer is replaced with one having a different specification, the scanner is the same as that. There is a need to replace it with one having specifications. This was a factor that increased the customer's cost burden.
[0004]
In response to such a problem, for example, various image processing circuits are mounted in advance so as to correspond to all combinations, and by switching these, it is possible to connect devices having different specifications even in the conventional configuration. However, in this case, it is necessary to provide a plurality of image processing circuits, which may increase the circuit scale and increase the cost. Further, in this case, there is a problem that it is impossible to deal with a new device having another specification.
[0005]
[Problems to be solved by the invention]
In this connection, consider an image processing system for copy processing in which a plurality of scanning devices and printing devices having different specifications are connected. In this image processing system, in at least one of the scanning device and the printing device, a programmable logic module is regularly arranged in a part of an image processing circuit incorporated therein, and a wiring area is prepared between the logic modules. A device that realizes a desired logic by connecting wiring regions according to a program is used. The image processing circuit can set the processing specification of the image data based on the given circuit configuration information, and the image processing circuit is configured according to the specification information of the image processing circuit in the other device. Therefore, the scanning process and the printing apparatus having different specifications can be connected to each other to perform the copying process.
[0006]
In the above-described image processing system, for example, when the specification of the image processing circuit in the scanning device is set according to the specification information of the printing device, a plurality of printing devices can send image data to a single scanning device. As described above, a device incorporating an image processing circuit that can be set with respect to processing specifications of image data based on given circuit configuration information corresponds to a plurality of devices each incorporating an image processing circuit having different specifications. become. In this case, every time the transmission destination of the image data is switched, if the specification is set on the apparatus side in which the image processing circuit capable of setting the processing specification of the image data is incorporated, the time required for the setting becomes longer as a whole. Become.
[0007]
Accordingly, the present invention has been made in view of the above technical problem, and provides an image processing system that includes a plurality of scanning devices and a printing device, and can shorten the rise time of the device when the device to be used is switched. With the goal.
[0008]
[Means for Solving the Problems]
According to the first aspect of the present invention, there is provided image processing including a plurality of scanning devices that optically read a document and convert it into electronic image data, and printing devices that print image data received from the scanning device on a recording medium. In the system, each of the scanning device and the printing device has an image processing circuit that processes image data with a predetermined specification, and in at least one of the two devices, the image processing circuit has a given circuit configuration. The image data processing specifications can be set based on the information, and the image processing circuit is set for the image data processing specifications according to the specification information of the image processing circuit in the other device, when processing specifications settable image processing circuit for the image data, which one job between the scanning device and the printing device is finished, pre It is obtained characterized in that it is set to a defined default specification.
[0011]
Further, the invention according to claim 2 of the present application is characterized in that the default specification is an original specification for an apparatus incorporating an image processing circuit that can be set for a processing specification of image data. .
[0012]
Further, the invention according to claim 3 of the present application is characterized in that the default specification is a specification with high use frequency.
