BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
The present invention relates to a load support, and more particularly to a load support suitable for a superconducting magnet.
[0002]
[Prior art]
Conventionally, in a normal superconducting magnet, a coil cooled with liquid helium is incorporated inside, and a stainless steel case called an inner tank is covered around the coil. The inner tank is stored in an outer tank which is a vacuum vessel and is supported by a support. A fiber reinforced plastic (hereinafter referred to as “FRP”), which is a composite material, is used for the support used for the support in order to enhance the heat insulation characteristics. As a conventional method, there is a method using an FRP member molded in a cylindrical shape or a cone shape, such as examples described in JP-A-62-126604 and JP-A-56-116555.
Examples of embedding the optical fiber in the resin include an example in which the optical fiber is solidified and embedded with a matrix material as described in JP-A-59-101709, JP-A-62-134608, and the like. is there.
[0003]
[Problems to be solved by the invention]
Such a load support according to the prior art is obtained by solidifying carbon fiber or glass fiber with an epoxy resin or the like in order to satisfy its strength characteristics and heat insulation characteristics, and there are no substances other than reinforcing fibers and resin. Therefore, in order to monitor the strain and damage of FRP, it is necessary to install various sensors later. As a method for examining the damage state, there is generally a method in which a strain gauge is attached to each component and a change amount with respect to a load is measured.
A strain gauge is a thin copper foil affixed on a gauge base. When in use, the gauge base is affixed to an object to be measured with an adhesive or the like, and a current is passed through the copper foil on the gauge base. .
The components of the superconducting magnet are exposed to a high magnetic field when in the superconducting state. Therefore, a sensor that handles a weak current such as a strain gauge is easily affected by electrical and magnetic noise, and cannot accurately measure strain.
In addition, since the load support placed between the inner and outer tubs of the coil attaches great importance to heat insulation properties, attaching high thermal conductivity copper to the load support allows meaningless heat intrusion. As a result, the superconducting state of the magnet is deteriorated.
Further, when a strain gauge is used, damage can be detected only at the position where the gauge is attached, and damage information on a part where the gauge is not attached cannot be obtained.
In the case of the known example in which the optical fiber is embedded in the resin, the other fibers such as a plurality of optical fibers and copper wires extend in the same direction, and are orthogonal to each other, or the fibers straddle the plurality of optical fibers. There is nothing. In terms of strength, the strength of this composite material is highest in the optical fiber and fiber directions, and weak in the direction perpendicular thereto. Therefore, the optical fiber-embedded resin according to this conventional technique cannot be applied to a structure that is desired to have strength in all directions, such as a load support.
An object of the present invention is to accurately detect strain and damage of a load support exposed to a high magnetic field under superconducting conditions.
[0004]
[Means for Solving the Problems]
The above object is to provide a superconducting magnet load support that is disposed between an inner tank for storing the superconducting coil and an outer tank for storing the inner tank, and the load support is made of fiber reinforced plastic, This is achieved by comprising an optical fiber.
The above object is to provide a superconducting magnet load support that is disposed between an inner tank for storing the superconducting coil and an outer tank for storing the inner tank, and the load support is made of fiber reinforced plastic, This is achieved by comprising an optical fiber in which the periphery of the core is covered with a clad having a different refractive index.
It is desirable to provide a light receiving element that detects light leaked to the outside due to damage of the optical fiber and identifies the damaged portion of the fiber reinforced plastic at a position facing the optical fiber.
The load support has one of a drum shape, a cylindrical shape, a rod shape, a conical shape, and the like, and is embedded in the fiber reinforced plastic so that the optical fiber is radial with respect to the central axis of the shape. It is desirable that
The relative refractive index difference between the core and the clad of the optical fiber is preferably 0.1 to 0.25%.
The load support preferably has a plurality of optical fibers having different diameters.
The reinforcing fiber of the fiber reinforced plastic is desirably one kind of glass fiber, carbon fiber, silicon carbide fiber, aramid fiber and alumina fiber, or a combination of these kinds.
The plastic of the fiber reinforced plastic is preferably a thermosetting resin or a thermoplastic resin.
The optical fiber is preferably embedded by being sandwiched between prepreg sheets at the time of molding the fiber reinforced plastic.
The load support is formed by laminating a cloth woven from an optical fiber, a resin that is heated and melted into a fiber, and a reinforcing fiber, and then hot-pressing and melting and cooling and solidifying. It is desirable to be a composite material.
The load support according to claim 1 or 2, wherein when the optical fiber is guided from the fiber reinforced plastic to the outside, the optical fiber penetrates a sleeve made of a material other than a thermosetting resin or a thermoplastic resin. .
The outer periphery of the optical fiber is preferably covered with one or more kinds of materials other than thermosetting resin or thermoplastic resin.
It is desirable that a light transmission attenuation amount of the optical fiber corresponding to a load applied to the load support is measured in advance.
The optical fiber is woven with a fiber reinforced plastic in the process of being embedded and embedded between prepreg sheets at the time of molding fiber reinforced plastic, or a fiber made of heat-melting resin and a reinforcing fiber. It is desirable to measure the change in light transmission amount during the manufacturing process in which the cloths are laminated, then heated and pressurized, melted, and cooled and solidified.
[0005]
The light transmitted through the optical fiber mixed with the fiber reinforced plastic of the load support having the above structure is not disturbed by electrical and magnetic noise even in an environment exposed to a high magnetic field in a superconducting state. When the optical fiber is deformed due to damage, the amount of transmitted light changes, and the strain and damage of the load support can be accurately detected.
The damaged position can be identified by the light receiving unit installed outside the load support.
By coating the optical fiber, the optical fiber is prevented from being deteriorated and the adhesive strength with the resin can be ensured.
By embedding the reinforcing fiber and the optical fiber in the same direction, the resin pool accumulated between the fibers can be minimized.
By using a mixed woven fabric of optical fiber, reinforcing fiber, and resin fiber, a desired shape can be easily manufactured.
A plurality of load supports can be measured with a single measuring device by providing the connector unit on the fastening bracket for fastening the load supports vertically.
By associating the change in the amount of light of the optical fiber with the load received by the load support, the actual load during operation of the magnet can be known.
By placing a dummy fiber perpendicular to the direction of the load on the load support, a pure load support that eliminates disturbances applied to the optical fiber outside the load support, such as fluctuations in the fiber and changes in the amount of light due to temperature changes, etc. Only the deformation amount of can be known.
By monitoring the change in the amount of light in the optical fiber embedded in the fiber-reinforced plastic that forms the load support, it is possible to monitor internal defects or material deformation at the time of molding, and know product variations. Can do.
