本発明は、超電導マグネット等の冷却装置、極低温における物性テスト装置又はクライオポンプなどに利用される極低温冷凍装置に関する。

一般に、極低温冷凍装置は、極低温に冷却されたパネルに気体分子を凝縮又は吸着して高真空圧を発生させるクライオポンプに利用されて、上記パネルを極低温(例えば10〜20K)に冷却したり、超電導マグネットや物性テスト装置の冷却装置に利用されて、超電導マグネットや試料を極低温(例えば4K)まで冷却させるものである。

このような極低温冷凍装置1は、図5に示すように、圧縮機2を備えた圧縮ユニット3と冷凍機4とが冷媒配管5にて接続されて構成される。圧縮ユニット3における冷媒配管9には、圧縮機2の吐出側に熱交換器6が配設されて、圧縮機2にて加圧された高温高圧の冷媒(以下「ヘリウムガス」と言う。)が常温の高圧ガスに熱交換される。この高圧ガスが冷凍機4へ供給されて断熱膨張され、冷凍機4の低温端部4Aが極低温に冷却される。

【発明が解決しようとする課題】
ところで、ヘリウムガスが流れ込んだオイルセパレータ7内の状態は次のようであると考えられる。

オイルセパレータ7に流れ込んだヘリウムガス中のオイル微粒子がグラスウールの繊維に衝突するとこのオイル微粒子はグラスウールの繊維に付着する。更に、グラスウールの繊維に付着したオイル微粒子に次のオイル微粒子が付着し、段々にその粒子が大きくなりやがて重力により下方に落ちる。オイルセパレータ7の入口近くのグラスウールはほとんどオイルで濡れてくるが、オイルセパレータ7の出口に行くに従って下流側のグラスウールは途中でほとんどオイル微粒子が落ちてしまい、へリウムだけがオイルセパレータ7の出口から出て行く。

請求項1記載の発明は、冷媒を圧縮して加圧する圧縮機を備えた圧縮ユニットと、この圧縮ユニットからの加圧冷媒により極低温を実現する冷凍機と、この圧縮機の吐出側に配置されるオイルセパレータとを有する極低温冷凍装置において、上記オイルセパレータの筺体は、筒状の横長の中央シェルと、この中央シェルの一側の開口を閉塞するキャプ状の入口シェルと、この中央シェルの他側の開口を閉塞するキャプ状の出口シェルとから構成されており、前記入口シェルの上部に冷媒の入口管がつながれ、前記出口シェルの上部に冷媒の出口管が下部にオイル吐出管がそれぞれつながれ、前記中央シェルの内部においては、この入口シェルから出口シェルへ向かって流れる冷媒の流れ方向に沿ってまずグラスウールが配置されその下流側に向かって順次目の粗さが粗い複数種の網が配置され、且つ一番目の粗い網の流出側には邪魔板を配置し、この邪魔板は前記中央シェルの内壁に沿って取り付けられるよう略円形でその下部が扇形に切り取られ冷媒の通路となる開口となっており、この切り取られ縁には一番目の粗い網から吐出され邪魔板に当たったオイルを中央シェルの内壁に導くための案内路が形成されているようにしたものである。

【発明の実施の形態】
以下、本発明の実施の形態を図面に基づいて説明する。
図1は、本発明に係る極低温冷凍装置の一実施の形態における冷媒回路を示す回路図である。この実施の形態における極低温冷凍装置10は、クライオポンプ等に利用され約10Kまで冷却する冷凍装置であり、圧縮機11を備えた圧縮ユニット12と、冷凍機13とを有して構成される。

これにより、中央シェルに配置された複数種類の網によって確実にヘリウム中のオイルが分離され、且つこのシェル内の邪魔板は、その下部が開放されているので、この下部がオイルの通路となりスムーズにシェル内をオイルが流れる。しかも、邪魔板に当たったオイルはスムーズにシェルの内壁に沿って流下する。これにより、オイルセパレータから確実にオイルとヘリウムガスとを分離して取り出せ、オイルが冷凍機まで侵入しにくくなる。又、圧縮機の耐久性が向上する
