BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
The present invention relates to a touch detection signal generation circuit and a coordinate input device, and more specifically, by scanning a pair of electrodes arranged in a grid as a pair of capacitors, a detection signal in the vicinity of an electrode touched with a finger is set as a predetermined signal. A current of a current output circuit that generates a touch detection signal in a coordinate input device that generates a touch detection signal having two peaks that swing up and down with respect to a reference level and detects a touch position of an electrode based on the detection signal. The present invention relates to a coordinate input device, a touch detection signal generation circuit thereof, and a touch detection signal generation method capable of preventing erroneous detection of a touch by reducing or suppressing offset variation.
[0002]
[Prior art]
A coordinate input device is a pointing device that replaces a mouse, a trackball, and a quick pointer used in a computer system. This coordinate input device has an electrostatic sensor portion in which a large number of X and Y electrodes are arranged in a grid pattern, and detects the position of the touched electrode by detecting the capacitance difference between each pair of adjacent electrodes. In order to detect the position of the touched electrode, this coordinate input device normally scans the X electrode or the Y electrode with a pair of adjacent electrodes as a unit (unit). This coordinate input device obtains a touch detection signal by detecting a difference in capacitance between two capacitors formed by a pair of electrodes as a difference between the respective charge currents by a charge current detection circuit.
[0003]
If the width of the X and Y electrodes arranged in the electrostatic sensor portion of the coordinate input device is a stripe electrode that is narrower than the touch width of the finger, the electric line of force between the X and Y electrodes is applied to the touched electrode. The capacity is reduced by being blocked by. Therefore, the difference in capacitance between the pair of electrodes before and after the touched electrode changes. This capacity difference increases on the + side on the near side of the touch position, then decreases and eventually becomes zero at the touch position of the finger (the center part of the touched finger), and on the − side after the touch position. The detection signal has a characteristic of increasing and eventually decreasing to zero again. In other words, the touch detection signal (touch signal) obtained by the charge current detection circuit is a signal having two peaks in which the level change along the scanning direction swings up and down with respect to the predetermined reference level.

Such a touch detection signal is generated in a circuit as shown in FIG. 2 that receives a charge current obtained for each electrode.

SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION An object of the present invention is to solve such a problem of the prior art and to reduce or suppress fluctuations in the current offset of a current output circuit that generates a touch detection signal to prevent erroneous touch detection. An object of the present invention is to provide a touch detection signal generation circuit and a coordinate input device that can perform the above-described operation.
Another object of the present invention is to provide a touch detection signal generation method capable of preventing erroneous touch detection by reducing or suppressing variation in current offset of a current output circuit that generates a touch detection signal. .
[0010]
In order to achieve such an object, the touch detection signal generation circuit and the coordinate input device of the present invention are characterized by scanning the electrodes of an electrostatic sensor unit having a large number of electrodes arranged in a predetermined direction. In a touch detection signal generation circuit that receives a charge current obtained in step S1 and generates a detection signal indicating that a predetermined electrode has been touched, the charge current is connected to the electrostatic sensor unit via a first switch circuit. In response to an amplifier that generates a touch detection signal as an output current and the output terminal of this amplifier when there is no signal input to a predetermined reference level and the output current is substantially zero, the offset of this amplifier output is reduced. The offset cancel circuit to be canceled, the first switch circuit and the input terminal of the amplifier are connected between the electrostatic sensor unit and the first switch circuit. A capacitance adding circuit for adding a capacitance corresponding to the input capacitance of the input terminal of the amplifier to the input terminal of the amplifier via the second switch circuit, and the electrostatic sensor unit and the amplifier by the first switch circuit. The offset cancel circuit cancels the offset of the amplifier output in a state where the connection to is disconnected and a capacitor corresponding to the input capacitor is added to the input terminal of the amplifier by the second switch circuit.
The touch detection signal generation method according to the present invention is characterized in that the amplifier when the electrostatic sensor unit is connected to the input terminal after the connection between the electrostatic sensor unit and the input terminal of the amplifier is cut off. A capacitance corresponding to the input side capacitance is added to the input terminal, the offset of the amplifier output is canceled by the offset cancellation circuit, and then the added capacitance is disconnected from the input terminal to perform the electrode scan. A detection signal is obtained.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION
As described above, the present invention operates the offset cancel circuit by adding the capacity in consideration of the input side capacity of the current output amplifier when the electrostatic sensor unit is connected to the current output amplifier in advance. Processing to cancel the offset of the output amplifier output. Thereby, even if the capacitance added thereafter is disconnected and an electrostatic sensor unit having a similar grounding capacitance is connected, the offset error canceled by the offset cancel circuit is suppressed. By performing electrode scanning in this state, it is possible to obtain a touch detection signal with high accuracy for the output of the current output amplifier.
Furthermore, since the fluctuation of the reference level of the touch detection signal obtained from the current output amplifier accompanying the electrode scan is reduced or suppressed, the dynamic range is improved.
As a result, in the coordinate input device or the like to which the present invention is applied, it is easy to determine whether or not the touch is made, the false detection of the touch is reduced, and the coordinate position of the touched electrode can be detected with higher accuracy. .

【The invention's effect】
As described above, according to the present invention, the capacitance on the input side of the current output amplifier when the electrostatic sensor unit is connected to the current output amplifier is considered in advance, and then the capacitance is added and offset offset is added. Since the touch detection signal is obtained by performing the electrode scan by separating the capacitance, the deviation of the offset canceled by the offset cancel circuit is suppressed. Thereby, the fluctuation | variation of the reference level of the touch detection signal obtained from an electric current output amplifier with an electrode scan is suppressed, and a dynamic range improves.
As a result, it is easy to determine whether or not the touch is made, false touch detection is reduced, and the coordinate position of the touch electrode can be detected with higher accuracy.
