本発明は、読書中の本や読みかけの本を読書可能な開頁状態に保持する装置に関する。

【従来の技術】
大きさ（版型）の割に厚みのある（頁数の多い）本は、それ自体では机や卓（以下、単に机という。）の上で開頁状態を保つことが困難で、人の手で押し付けておくか重しを必要とする。人の手では、わずらわしく、また疲れ易い。さらに、読書を一時中断して本のそばを離れるときは、その都度閉頁して再度開頁するか、開頁のまま机上に本を伏せたりすることになり本がいたむ。重しは、すべり易い上に、読み進むにしたがって重しの位置を移動させる必要がある。大きさの割に薄い本では、厚みの中程で開頁状態を保持し得るが、本の中央綴じ近傍では十分に開かず人の眼に対して紙面が傾斜していて、読み進むにつれて目の位置を変更したり、人の手で紙面を押し広げたりする補助動作が必要になる。また、厚みの中程から表紙側または裏表紙側に片寄った位置では、本自体では開頁状態を保持できず、前記厚い本の場合と同様に、人の手で押さえる必要がある。

そこで、紙片はさみとして使われているクリップで本の頁開きを保持することも考えられるが、クリップで本を単に開頁状態に保持しても次の問題が残る。すなわち、クリップ自体の姿勢が机の面によって制御されないから本の開頁された両側が机の面に対して均等な角度にならず、本の中央綴じ近傍で大きく傾斜した片側は前述のような補助動作を必要とする。また、机の上面は通常水平であり、人の顔は、本の斜め上方手前にあるから、机上に単に置かれた本の紙面は人の顔の方向に向いておらず、目が疲れ易い上に紙面に記載された内容を正確に把握できない恐れがある。

【発明が解決しようとする課題】
本発明は、人の手をわずらわせることなく本の頁開き状態を保持できると共に開いた頁面の向きを人の顔の方向に近づけることができる本の頁開き保持装置を提供することを目的としている。

【課題を解決するための手段】
上記目的を達成するために、本発明の本の頁開き保持装置においては、クリップの上側部および下側部の各前方に頁押えおよび背表紙受けをそれぞれ設け、背表紙受けの先端には左右方向に十分な長さを有する垂下片の上縁の中央域を固着させて背表紙受けに対して垂下片が略垂直に連結されており、上記垂下片の下縁は、その左右端が上縁の中央域から所定の高低差で下方に位置しており、上記左右端を含めた下縁全体が水平な一直線をなすか、または下縁の左右端以外が上記左右端より上方にあるようにしたものである。なお、本明細書の特許請求の範囲その他で、垂下片の下縁の左右端が上縁の中央域より下方にある高低差に関して「所定の高低差」とは、本発明の保持装置の頁押えと背表紙受けの間に、開いた本の上方中央部をはさみ込んで机上に置いた場合、本の開いた頁面の向きが人の顔の方向に実質上近づく程度の高低差を云う。

【作用】
上記のように構成された本の頁開き保持装置の頁押えと背表紙受けの間に、開いた本の上方中央部をはさみ込むと、本は頁を開いた状態で上記保持装置にしっかりと保持され、保持装置を机上に置けば、上縁中央域と下縁左右端の間に所定の高低差を有する垂下片によって、開いた本の上方中央部は上記高低差に相当する分だけ机面より高い位置に保たれるので、本の開いた頁面は人の顔の方向に傾斜した状態で本が机上に静止する。

【発明の実施の形態】
発明の実施の形態を実施例にもとづき図面を参照して説明する。
図は、本発明の本の頁開き保持装置又はその構成部分およびその使用状態を示す。クリップ１は上側部２および下側部３より構成され、上側部２および下側部３の各前方にはそれぞれ頁押え４および背表紙受け５を設ける。上側部２および下側部３の各後方にはクリップ１を開閉する操作部６を設ける。頁押え４は中央に向って両側からゆるやかに下降する左右対称の略下向きくの字型をなす断面形状とし、背表紙受け５の先端には左右方向に十分な長さを有する垂下片７の上縁の中央域８を固着する。その結果、背表紙受け５に対して垂下片７が略垂直に連結された状態となる。背表紙受け５と垂下片７の連結強度を大きくするため、図１の符号１３および１４で示す結合補強部を設けることもできる。背表紙受け５は、垂下片７に対して、先端を直接固着されるのみならず結合補強部１３又は同１３と１４を介しても結合されることになる。クリップ１の上側部２および下側部３はそれぞれに設けた軸支部１０で軸１１により軸着され、バネ部剤１２により頁押え４と背表紙受け５が近づく方向に弾撥的に係合される。

頁押え４の前記断面形状は、図１および図５に示すように開いた本の中央部を上から押えるのに都合のよい形状である。また、垂下片７の左右方向の長さは、机上で保持している開いた本からの転倒作用や傾倒作用を受けたときにも机上面で安定して正しい姿勢を維持することができる程度の十分な長さであり、対象とする本の大きさ等によって異なり得るが、１０ｃｍ〜１５ｃｍ程度であれば種々のサイズの本に適用できる。

垂下片７の上縁は、背表紙受け５の先端が固着される中央域８とその左右９が同一の高さであってもよいが、図１、および図４に示す如く中央域８の左右９が中央域８より高くなっていてもよい。この場合は中央域８に対する左右９の段差部が本の背表紙の両横近傍を下から支えて、本をぐらつかないようにしっかり支持する。垂下片７の下縁から上縁の中央域８までの高さは本の紙面の向きを人の方向に近づける角度の大きさに応じて定める。垂下片７の下縁は図１、４および５に示す如く水平な一直線をなしてもよいが、上縁の中央域８が下縁の左右端に対して所定の高さを有しておれば、机上において垂下片７ひいては本の頁開き保持装置は安定した姿勢を維持できると共に本の開いた頁面を人の顔の方向に近づけることができるから、垂下片７の下縁は、図６又は図７に例示する如く、上縁の中央域８から所定の高低差で下方に位置する左右端を除いてそれ以外は上記左右端より上方にあってもよい。

本発明は上記の構成であるから、人の手をわずらわせることなく本の頁開き状態を保持でき、読書中においても両手を自由に使える。
