Description
【0001】

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
The invention of this application relates to a hydrogen storage material. More specifically, the invention of this application relates to a hydrogen storage material for storing hydrogen that is expected as a new environmentally friendly energy source.
[0002]
[Prior art]
Hydrogen is a substance that exists everywhere on the earth, and since it does not generate pollution and air pollution by using only water as an emission after use, it is highly expected as a next-generation clean energy source. Yes.
[0003]
Conventionally, carbon nanotubes and nanofibers are known as hydrogen storage materials, and besides this, a technique for electrochemically storing hydrogen using nanotubes of molybdenum disulfide is known (for example, Literature 1-5).
[0004]
Carbon nanotubes and nanofibers are porous, and hydrogen can be occluded inside the pores, between the bundles, and between the layers. Carbon nanotubes are considered to be promising as hydrogen storage materials because they are lightweight and have good interaction between carbon and hydrogen molecules.
[0005]
In carbon nanotubes, characteristic differences such as metallic properties or semiconductor properties occur due to the size of the diameter or twist. In addition, the difference in shape also causes a difference in the force-bonn nanotube hydrogen storage capacity. Since carbon fibers of various shapes and forms are mixed in ordinary carbon nanotubes, evaluating the hydrogen storage capacity is poor in reproducibility of measured values in the measurement for evaluation and is not reliable. This is difficult. As described above, since carbon fibers of various shapes and forms are mixed in carbon nanotubes, it is difficult to achieve high uniformity of the hydrogen storage capacity required when commercializing hydrogen storage materials.

[Problems to be solved by the invention]
In addition, carbon nanotubes consisting of a single wall are said to be excellent in hydrogen storage capacity, but carbon nanotubes consisting of only a single wall are separated from normal carbon nanotubes in a state where various shapes and forms are mixed. It is difficult to purify.
[0008]
Therefore, the invention of this application has been made in view of the circumstances as described above, and it is an object to provide a hydrogen storage material capable of stably storing hydrogen and having a high hydrogen storage capacity. It is said.
[0009]
[Means for Solving the Problems]
In order to solve the above problems, the invention of this application firstly provides a hydrogen storage material that stores hydrogen and is characterized by comprising boron nitride nanofibers.
[0010]
The invention of this application is a hydrogen storage material that stores hydrogen in the hydrogen storage material, wherein the diameter is 5 to 120 nm, the length is 1 to 100 μm, and the hydrogen pressure αMPa And a hydrogen storage material characterized by storing 0.25α% by weight or more of hydrogen.
Thirdly, the invention of this application is characterized in that boron nitride nanofibers are produced by heating boron nitride, boron oxide, and boron in a nitrogen atmosphere at a high temperature of 1000 K to 2500 K. A method for producing boron nitride nanofibers is provided.
[0011]
Furthermore, the invention of this application is characterized in that, in the above method for producing boron nitride nanofibers, the mixing molar ratio of boron nitride, boron oxide and boron is 2: 1: 1. A method for producing boron nitride nanofibers is also provided.
[0012]
DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION
The invention of this application has the features as described above, and an embodiment thereof will be described below.
[0013]
The hydrogen storage material which is the invention of this application is composed of boron nitride nanofibers. Specifically, it is composed of boron nitride nanofibers having a diameter of 5 to 120 nm and a length of 1 to 100 μm.
[0014]
The hydrogen storage amount of the hydrogen storage material is determined by the hydrogen pressure with respect to the boron nitride nanofibers, and stores 0.25α% by weight or more of hydrogen with respect to the hydrogen pressure αMPa. For example, at room temperature and a hydrogen pressure of 10 MPa, 2.5% by weight or more of hydrogen is stored, and at room temperature and a hydrogen pressure of 2 MPa, 0.5% by weight or more of hydrogen is stored.
[0015]
Boron nitride nanofibers constituting the hydrogen storage material that is the invention of this application are produced by heating boron nitride, boron oxide, and boron at a high temperature of 1000 K to 2500 K in a nitrogen atmosphere, for example. Can do. At this time, the mixing molar ratio of boron nitride, boron oxide, and boron is preferably 2: 1: 1. In the above method, since no catalytic metal is used, the boron nitride nanofibers that are produced contain no metal, and high-purity boron nitride nanofibers can be obtained.
[0016]
In the hydrogen storage material according to the invention of this application, the diameter and twist of the boron nitride nanofibers do not affect the hydrogen storage capacity, and hydrogen can be stored stably. Boron nitride nanofibers are lightweight, have little impact on the environment and the human body, and are superior in heat resistance and chemical stability compared to carbon nanotubes, so they function as extremely useful hydrogen storage materials. To do.
[0017]
The above is one example of the form of the invention of this application, and it goes without saying that the invention of this application is not limited to these, and that various details can be taken.
[0018]
The invention of this application has the above-described features, and will be described more specifically with reference to examples.
[0019]
【Example】
Boron nitride (oxygen content 0.8 wt%), boron oxide and boron were weighed in a 2: 1: 1 molar ratio. This powder mixture was put into a reaction vessel and heated to 2000K while flowing nitrogen gas in a high frequency induction heating furnace.
[0020]
A transmission electron microscope image of the product thus obtained is shown in FIG. The obtained product was boron nitride nanofiber, and the diameter was 30 to 100 nm and the length was several μm as shown in FIG. FIG. 1B is a high-resolution transmission electron microscope image of the tip of the boron nitride nanofiber. From FIG. 1 (b), it was observed that the tips of the nanofibers had an irregular shape. Such irregular shapes have an advantageous effect on hydrogen capture.
[0021]
Next, the produced boron nitride nanofiber was used as a hydrogen storage material, and the hydrogen storage amount was measured. The hydrogen storage amount is measured according to the following procedure.
[0022]
First, in a pressure chamber, 10 mg of boron nitride nanofibers were introduced into a sample holder of a Cahn D110 type micro thermobalance. Next, the inside of the pressure chamber was evacuated and the sample holder was heated at 423 K for 2 hours. Thereafter, the temperature of the sample was cooled to 293 K, and high-purity hydrogen gas (purity 99.999%) was introduced into the chamber.
[0023]
At this time, the hydrogen pressure was changed from 0.1 MPa to 10 MPa, and the relationship between the hydrogen pressure and the hydrogen storage amount was determined. Since a predetermined time is required for the hydrogen storage amount at a predetermined pressure to saturate, it took 4 hours to obtain a hydrogen storage amount in the range of 0.1 MPa to 10 MPa. The effect of buoyancy was corrected using a standard sample that did not absorb hydrogen. The amount of hydrogen occluded (% by weight) was calculated by dividing the weight of hydrogen increased by absorption of hydrogen by the sample by the total weight of the sample including the increment.
[0024]
FIG. 2 shows the relationship between the hydrogen pressure and the hydrogen storage amount. From this result, it can be seen that the hydrogen storage amount increases as the pressure increases. Boron nitride nanofibers occlude 2.9 wt% hydrogen at a hydrogen pressure of 10 MPa, 0.75 wt% hydrogen at a hydrogen pressure of 3 MPa, and 0.5 wt% hydrogen at a hydrogen pressure of 2 MPa. I understood it.
[0025]
【The invention's effect】
As described in detail above, the invention of this application provides a hydrogen storage material capable of stably storing hydrogen and having a high hydrogen storage capacity.
[0026]
The boron nitride nanofibers constituting the hydrogen storage material according to the invention of this application are lightweight, have little influence on the environment and the human body, and further have heat resistance and chemical stability compared to carbon nanotubes. Therefore, the hydrogen storage material according to the present invention is expected to have high stability and long life.

FIG. 2 is a graph showing the relationship between hydrogen pressure and hydrogen storage amount in an embodiment of the invention of this application.
