Description
【0001】
u0 = a0・w0 + a1・w1
w0 = e0 + a2・w1
w1 = w0 (w1は状態変数)

[Industrial application fields]
The present invention relates to an image shake correction apparatus suitable for use in a photographing apparatus such as a silver salt camera or a video camera, or an optical apparatus such as binoculars.
[0002]
[Prior art]
Conventionally, in the field of photographic devices such as silver halide cameras and video cameras, automation and multi-functionality have been achieved in all respects such as exposure setting, focus adjustment, etc., and it is possible to always perform good shooting regardless of the shooting environment. It is like that.
[0003]
However, it is often the camera shake that actually deteriorates the quality of the photographed image. In recent years, various shake correction apparatuses for correcting the camera shake have been proposed and attracting attention.
[0004]
The shake correction device is roughly classified into optical correction in the correction system and electrical correction by image processing, physical vibration detection in the detection system, and detection by image processing using an image motion vector or the like. The Various combinations of these have been proposed.
[0005]
Now, optical blur correction will be described as an example. As the blur detection means, for example, an angular velocity detection means such as a vibration gyroscope is provided, and the velocity signal output from the angular velocity sensor is integrated and converted into an angular displacement signal. Is configured to optically correct the shake by driving an optical shake correction means such as a variable variable vertical angle prism.
[0006]
Such an optical shake correction device drives a variable apex prism by a shake correction control signal for performing normal shake correction, and simultaneously detects an angular displacement of the variable apex prism and corresponds to the control signal. It has a feedback loop that can be driven to a position.
[0007]
[Problems to be solved by the invention]
However, in the shake correction apparatus using the optical and mechanical shake correction means such as the above-described variable apex angle prism, mechanical friction such as axial friction and deformation of the element due to changes in temperature and aging of the mechanical movable part. Deterioration of response (follow-up) that cannot be neglected in terms of control with respect to relatively small shake (for example, when the optical axis is displaced with a small displacement (about 0.03 deg in the later-described embodiment)). May occur. Moreover, the individual difference of the variable apex angle prism and its drive system is also large.
[0008]
These mechanical performance degradations and variations in the shake correction device using a variable apex angle prism controlled by a servomechanism are shifted due to the influence of load fluctuations such as temperature and deterioration over time. Inconvenient.
[0009]
In addition, there is a disadvantage that the drive limit range of the variable apex angle prism fluctuates due to changes in temperature, device changes over time, or battery consumption.
[0010]
In addition, since there is a large variation in optical axis adjustment, there are cases in which absorption cannot be achieved only by adjustment based on an offset of an output signal from a one-chip microcomputer that is not highly capable.
[0011]
Therefore, the problem in the present invention is to solve the above-described problems, correct mechanical deterioration such as shaft friction, element deformation, and response delay due to temperature and change with time of the shake correction means, An object of the present invention is to provide a shake correction apparatus that corrects variations due to individual differences and can always ensure good response characteristics.
[0012]
[Means for Solving the Problems]
In order to solve the above-described problem, according to the invention described in claim 1 of the present application, a shake detecting means for detecting a shake (corresponding to the angular velocity detecting means 1 in the embodiment) and an output of the shake detecting means. On the basis of the movement correction means for correcting the movement of the image due to the shake (in the embodiment, mainly the integration means 203, the phase / gain correction means 204 in the

【Example】
Hereinafter, the present invention will be described in detail with reference to the drawings.
[0039]
(First embodiment)
FIG. 1 is a block diagram showing a configuration in which a shake correction apparatus according to the present invention is applied to a video camera or a camera-integrated VTR.
[0040]
In the figure, reference numeral 1 denotes an angular velocity sensor such as a vibration gyro attached to a photographing device such as a camera, which constitutes an angular velocity detecting means. 2 is a DC cut filter that cuts off the DC component of the angular velocity signal output from the angular velocity detection means 1 (or a high-pass filter that cuts off the signal in an arbitrary band (hereinafter referred to as HPF)), and 3 is an appropriate device that converts the angular velocity signal into an appropriate value. It is an amplifier that amplifies to sensitivity.

203 is an integrating means (integrator) for integrating the angular velocity signal and converting it into an angular displacement signal corresponding to a shake correction amount, and 204 is arranged on the output side of the integrating means 6, and integrating the angular velocity signal to obtain the angular displacement signal. The phase / gain correction means for correcting the phase and gain of the system for calculating the blur correction amount by converting into the above.
[0045]
The phase / gain correction means (circuit) 204 includes a D / A converter (not shown), which can be converted into an analog output and output. Then, a limiter is applied to the output of this D / A to limit the amplitude of the control signal for blur correction, thereby limiting the drive range of the variable apex angle prism VAP, which will be described later, so that the mechanical offset such as temperature and change with time can be controlled. In the embodiment of the binoculars, it is possible to adjust the balance of the left and right shake correcting means. Such driving range correction can also be performed via the control data line C.
[0046]
Reference numeral 30 denotes a blur correction block that corrects the motion of the image due to the blur based on the angular displacement signal output from the phase / gain correction means 204 in the

[0050]
Further, at the time of this determination, when the frequency / amplitude detection means 206 simultaneously detects the amplitude and frequency of the angular velocity signal and the angular displacement signal, the blur frequency is low, and the amplitude increases or decreases in one direction, Panning or tilting can be determined, and this information is supplied to the pan / tilt determination means 205.
[0051]
When panning / tilting is detected by the pan / tilt discriminating means 205 and the frequency / amplitude detecting means 206, the integration characteristic of the integrating means, that is, the cut-off frequency of the low band is shifted to the high band side to reduce the low band. The blur correction function is lowered, the motion correction during panning and tilting operations is lowered, and the displacement of the variable apex angle prism is prevented.
[0052]
Further, by detecting the frequency of the shake by the frequency / amplitude detection means 206 and setting the frequency characteristic of the integration means 203 to the center frequency of the shake, even if the shake frequency changes, It is possible to operate so as to obtain the maximum blur correction effect, and it is possible to perform optimal blur correction control with respect to the blur state.
[0053]
Further, the information on the frequency and amplitude of the shake detected by the frequency / amplitude detection means 206 is supplied to the phase / gain correction means 204, and the frequency characteristic of the integral characteristic of the control system is changed according to the shake frequency and amplitude. Since the compensation of the phase and gain at the same time is performed at the same time, the stability of the control system can always be maintained, high correction capability can be realized for any shake, and high accuracy, stability and reliability can be achieved. A high system can be realized.

Thus, in the

In addition, these use an EEPROM 6 as a storage means described later to absorb individual differences such as a variable apex angle prism, so that it is possible to make arbitrary settings and change the correction function.
[0067]
Here, a description will be given of a VAP, that is, a variable apex angle prism, which is used as an image correction means in the correction block 30 and optically displaces in the optical axis direction to cancel out blur.
[0068]
An example of the configuration when VAP is used as the image correction means is shown in FIG. This is a closed-loop control configuration in which a voice coil type motor is used to drive the prism, and the angular displacement of the prism is detected by an encoder to provide feedback.

However, since the control is performed so that the
[0077]
Actually, however, the frequency characteristics of the VAP unit (without velocity feedback compensation) shown in FIGS. 5 and 6 are of the order shown in FIG. 10, and the optical axis is 0.03 deg polarized and 0.1 deg polarized respectively. In this case, the frequency characteristics (gain, phase) are greatly different from each other (not shown in the figure, but shows almost the same response in the low frequency band).
[0078]
That is, at 10 Hz, the phase at 0.03 deg polarization is delayed by 7 deg with respect to 0.1 deg polarization.
[0079]
This is due to the influence of shaft friction and the production of the VAP element, and is preferably solved by mechanical improvement or the like.
[0080]
However, since the above causes deterioration of responsiveness that cannot be ignored in terms of shake correction performance, an appropriate gain is set according to the shake amplitude, as shown in the flow chart of FIG. In addition, means for changing the gain according to the amplitude of the periodic shake applied to the device is used.
[0081]
By making full use of such a technique, the vibration compensation device having a mechanism for performing polarization of the optical axis by mechanical drive and the characteristics of the current vibration gyroscope are relatively unsatisfactory, and the vibration of 10 Hz or more is relatively poor. But good correction is possible.
[0082]
Actually, the correction effect differs depending on which frequency is applied depending on the correction value of the phase advance correction (it can be optimized to 10 Hz), but considering camera shake correction mainly (frequency adaptive control is performed) If not), the correction effect for a frequency of 10 Hz or more is reduced.
[0083]
Here, the control system of the present embodiment using the VAP as the image correction means will be described below. The
u0 = a0 · w0 + a1 · w1
w0 = e0 + a2 · w1
w1 = w0 (w1 is a state variable)

In step S103, HPF calculation is performed on the input angular velocity signal in step S101 to remove DC components and offset components.
[0091]
In step S104, the integral calculation coefficient of the integration means 203 is read from a ROM (not shown) and loaded, and the characteristics of the integration means 203 are set.
[0092]
In step S105, the angular velocity signal subjected to the HPF calculation in step S103 is integrated by the
[0093]
At this time, as described above, the shake correction characteristic corresponding to the shake frequency and the amplitude detected by the frequency / amplitude detection means 206 can be given to the integration means 203, and the optimum shake correction signal corresponding to the shake frequency can be provided. Can be obtained.
[0094]
In step S106, the angular displacement signal obtained in step S104 is stored.
[0095]
In step S107, the phase and gain correction coefficient of the phase / gain correction means 204 are loaded, the correction characteristic of the phase / gain correction means 204 is determined, and the phase / gain correction optimum for the characteristics of the control system is performed.
[0096]
In step S108, the angular displacement signal obtained in step S105 is subjected to a correction operation in accordance with the determination of the vibration frequency / amplitude and the shooting state to generate a shake correction control signal.
[0097]
Specifically, the center frequency of the blur is detected, and the frequency characteristic of the blur suppression force of the blur correction unit is adjusted to that frequency. Accordingly, it is possible to effectively perform shake correction with respect to the shake frequency.
[0098]
In step S109, the control signal obtained in step S108 is converted into an analog value by a D / A converter (not shown) in the phase / gain correction circuit, or a pulse output such as PWM (not shown) is used as a microcomputer. 20 is output.
[0099]
In step S110, when the angular velocity signal used for the calculation of vibration frequency and amplitude detection used in the processing of FIG. 10B described later is noisy, the LPF is converted into the angular velocity signal in order to remove the noise. Perform the operation.
[0100]
In step S111, the angular velocity signal obtained in step S110 is stored to prepare for the next operation.
[0101]
Step S112 indicates the end of the process.

Next, processing relating to vibration frequency / amplitude detection by the pan /
[0103]
In step S113, processing is started.
[0104]
In step S114, the angular velocity signal stored in step S111 of FIG. 7A is loaded.
[0105]
In step S115, the angular displacement signal stored in step S106 is read and loaded. The order of steps S114 and S115 may be reversed.
[0106]
In step S116, the angular velocity signal and the angular displacement signal of steps S114 and S115 are input, and the blur center frequency and amplitude applied to the device are detected.
[0107]
The shake amplitude is effective for correction processing when the servo characteristics are reduced with a minute amplitude (following amplitude is reduced, that is, cannot be tracked in the dead zone) by an image correction device such as VAP driven by a servo mechanism.
[0108]
For example, in a shake correction apparatus using a VAP controlled by a servo mechanism, a response that is not negligible in terms of shake correction performance with respect to a relatively small shake (for example, 0.03 deg or less) due to mechanical structure, shaft friction, or the like. Therefore, a means for setting an appropriate gain according to the shake amplitude and changing the gain according to the amplitude of the periodic shake applied to the device is used.
[0109]
In step S117, the pan / tilt and photographing state are determined by inputting the angular velocity signal and angular displacement signal in steps S114 and S115 and the blur center frequency and amplitude detected in step S116.
[0110]
In step S118, the HPF calculation coefficient and the integration calculation coefficient of the integration means are set based on the pan / tilt and shooting state determination results. That is, when the pan / tilt state is established, the low-frequency cut-off frequency of the integrating means is shifted to the high-frequency side to suppress integration with respect to low-frequency blur. As a result, correction for ultra-low-frequency vibration (panning / tilting) including a direct current component is not performed, and contact with the end of the VAP is prevented.
[0111]
Further, the frequency correction coefficient is set based on the blur center frequency and amplitude obtained in step S116.
[0112]
The above processing is performed, and a series of processing is terminated at step S119.
[0113]
The coefficients corresponding to these pan / tilt and photographing (observation) states are obtained from experience, and a data table prepared in advance is searched. On the other hand, the frequency correction coefficient is retrieved from a data table previously set for each frequency. Then, the frequency characteristic is changed by changing the coefficient of the digital filter formed in the

However, as described above, the actuator for driving the variable apex angle prism as the image correction means 5 in the blur correction block 30 is an apex angle prism (optically driven by a servo mechanism using a voice coil motor or the like). In order to improve the follow-up to the control signal, the drive means) can improve the frequency characteristics (improve the follow-up) by using phase advance / lag compensation, speed feedback compensation, and loop gain changes that are servo control methods. Although illustrated, due to mechanical structure, shaft friction, and the like, responsiveness deterioration that is not negligible in terms of shake correction performance occurs with respect to relatively small shake (for example, 0.03 deg or less).
[0115]
Therefore, an appropriate gain is set according to the shake amplitude, and the gain is changed depending on the amplitude of the periodic shake applied to the device.
[0116]
However, as described above, a response that is not negligible in terms of performance against relatively small shakes (for example, 0.03 deg or less) due to mechanical deterioration such as shaft friction and element deformation caused by temperature and time-dependent changes. The (tracking) property may be deteriorated, and the variation between the VAPs is large.
[0117]
Further, in the shake correction apparatus using the VAP controlled by the servo mechanism, the center position in the control may be shifted due to load fluctuations such as temperature and deterioration with time, and the drive limit range of the VAP is It will fluctuate due to changes in the elements over time and battery consumption.
[0118]
In addition, since there is a large variation in optical axis adjustment, there are cases in which absorption cannot be achieved by adjusting only the output signal from the one-chip microcomputer.
[0119]
In order to solve these many problems, according to the embodiment of the present invention, the following blur correction characteristic measuring function and calibration function are introduced.
[0120]
This calibration function is realized by a

[0122]
Further, data lines T1 to T5 indicating operation states of the IS switch 7, the battery check switch 8, the calibration switch 9, and the photographer detecting means 10 are supplied to the
[0123]
In addition, it is possible to freely set which switch is used for the calibration. Details will be described later.
[0124]
The calibration block drives the VAP at an arbitrary frequency and amplitude, detects the response amplitude and phase shift with respect to the reference drive signal, and uses the control data line C to set the correction coefficient in phase according to the response amplitude and phase shift. And to the gain correction means 204, change the frequency characteristic, and correct the gain and phase shift.
[0125]
The reference drive signal is written in advance in the microcomputer built-in ROM, and is read out during measurement. The response waveform is captured using the built-in A / D converter, and the frequency characteristics are obtained by comparison with the reference signal. It ’s fine. Therefore, there is no increase in the number of elements due to the addition of the calibration function.
[0126]
As is clear from FIG. 1, the shake detection system and the shake correction system are provided with two systems of the YAW direction and the PITCH direction, and each detects and corrects the shake independently. The configuration of the control system itself may be exactly the same except for the direction of blurring to be corrected.
[0127]
Therefore, in this embodiment, only the blur correction system in the YAW direction will be described, and in the PITCH direction, each constituent element is assigned a symbol corresponding to the configuration in the YAW direction, and a dash “'” is added to the symbol. The description is omitted.
[0128]
In addition, image correction means are provided separately for the YAW direction and the PITCH direction, but the shake correction means such as VAP is of course common, and an actuator for driving the VAP is provided separately for each shake correction direction. Needless to say.
[0129]
Further, when the present invention is applied to the binoculars as shown in FIGS. 13 and 14, since there are two left and right camera shake correction systems including VAP, camera shake correction in the YAW direction and PITCH direction of FIG. Another set of systems is provided, but since the configuration itself is the same, illustration and description thereof are omitted, and only an outline thereof is shown in FIG. 18 and will be described later.

Since the stored value in the EEPROM 6 is updated every time the calibration operation is performed, an optimum driving state can be obtained even when the environment changes such as a change with time or a temperature change. As shown in FIG. 3, a time difference tn between timings crossing the center value of each of the pseudo shake signal and the VAP response waveform is measured and calculated by averaging over a set period T.
[0145]
In addition, as a timing for performing characteristic measurement and calibration, a dedicated switch (calibration switch 9) can be provided independently, and the calibration can be performed at an arbitrary time. As shown in FIG. 12, whether or not the observer is peeping using a line-of-sight detection means for detecting that the imaging operation is being performed by detecting the reflection of the eyeball EYE by the light projecting / receiving

Thus, when a center reference position holding signal for positioning the VAP at the center of the optical axis is added, the light beam is polarized from the optical center.
[0154]
Step 204 is a process for performing optical polarization offset correction. That is, in order to cope with the above phenomenon, the VAP center reference holding signal is corrected by adding an offset so that the output of the apex angle sensor becomes the stored value of the optical center position obtained by the initial adjustment. This corrected offset value is stored in the EEPROM 6 or the like.

That is, in the routine of the normal shake correction operation, control is performed using the correction parameter (data table) stored in the EEPROM 6, and even if there is a mechanical error or a change with time of the element itself, the error is corrected. It can be operated with optimal characteristics.
[0161]
In step 210, the calibration operation is terminated and the processing is terminated.
[0162]
In the above-described calibration operation, the measurement frequency and amplitude of the VAP drive waveform (pseudo drive waveform) can be arbitrarily set. However, according to the typical frequency and amplitude for recognizing the characteristics, 1, 2 It is sufficient to measure points. For example, in the case of the characteristics shown in FIG. 10, the correction parameter may be selected by measurement at 10 Hz and ± 0.1 deg.
[0163]
With the above configuration, it is possible to perform optimal shake correction (adaptive control) corresponding to mechanical deterioration such as shaft friction and element deformation due to temperature and aging.
[0164]
(Second embodiment)
The above is the calibration means mainly related to the frequency characteristics, but in addition to this, the calibration for the driving range is also effective.
[0165]
That is, the drive range (polarizable range) may become narrower than the initial state due to temperature and deterioration with time of the VAP element or the like. This is because when a single VAP unit is used, the reduction of the blur correction range is a major problem. In particular, in the binoculars using a plurality of sets of VAP units as shown below, there is a gap between the left and right optical systems. This causes a difference in the visual field of observation and may cause discomfort to the observer.

First, as an example of an optical apparatus having two or more sets of independent image correction means, FIG. 13 shows a perspective view of binoculars incorporating two sets of left and right independent variable apex angle prism units.

The processing on the microcomputer during the characteristic measurement and calibration operation in the second embodiment will be described below with reference to the flow chart of FIG. Here, it is assumed that a switch for turning on the power and a switch for instructing a calibration mode are provided.
[0185]
The VAP control and drive system is the same as the circuit configuration shown in FIGS. 1 and 4, and the process is executed by the
[0186]
When the process is started and the power is turned on in step S200, the process proceeds to step S201, and whether or not observation by the photographer is being performed by the
[0187]
If the observation is performed, the process proceeds to the next step S202, where the normal blur correction operation is performed, and the process returns to step S201.
[0188]
If the observation is not performed in step S201, the process proceeds to step S203, and the state of the calibration switch 9 is detected. If it is ON, the process proceeds to the next step S204, and if it is OFF, the process proceeds to step S205.
[0189]
In step S204, it is determined whether or not the calibration operation has been completed based on the state of the calibration end flag. If the calibration operation has been completed, the process proceeds to step S205, where VAP The correction operation of the drive system is stopped (VAP is mechanically fixed), and the process returns to step S201. As a result, a correction operation (VAP drive) is not performed unnecessarily, and there is a power saving effect.
[0190]
In step S204, if the calibration end flag is not set and the calibration operation is not completed, the process proceeds to S206.
[0191]
In step S206, a VAP center reference holding signal is output from the calibration block of the
[0192]
Subsequently, in step S208, right optical polarization offset correction is performed in the same manner as the left side. Thereby, the optical axis correction of the right VAP is performed, and the optical axis offset correction of the left and right VAPs is completed.
[0193]
In step S209, the VAP drive waveform (pseudo drive waveform) is output from the
[0194]
In step S210, the angular displacement signal from the
[0195]
In step S211, the drive waveform and the response waveform are compared, and the movable range of each of the left and right VAP drive systems is measured.
[0196]
In step S212, the VAP drive range is set from the result obtained in step S211 and correction is performed so that the left and right VAP drive ranges are the same. The offset correction amounts of the left and right VAP drive systems are stored in the EEPROM 6 and the like, and are used as the default values for the next time.
[0197]
In this case, the VAP drive range must be set in such a range that the characteristics shown in FIG. That is, the left and right VAPs are configured to operate with the same characteristics (driving limit range, a range having the same response characteristics at the reference position serving as the optical axis center in the initial state).
[0198]
The setting (correction) of the driving range of the VAP is performed by supplying offset information to the phase / gain correction means 204, 204 ′ using the control data line C in FIG. This is realized by limiting the range and limiting the amplitude of the shake correction control signal.
[0199]
The drive limit range is set to a range that is further smaller than the movable range of the smaller VAP of the left and right VAPs. As a result, the left and right VAPs are balanced, and a stable drive can be performed by providing a margin in the movable range.
[0200]
Thus, the calibration operation is completed. In step S213, the calibration end flag is set, and the process returns to step S201.
[0201]
In actual application, an effect can be obtained by setting the left and right drive ranges independently of YAW and PITCH (one is fixed near the center).
[0202]
As described above, in this embodiment, it is possible to perform optimal shake correction (adaptive control) corresponding to mechanical deterioration such as shaft friction and element deformation due to temperature and aging, and in particular, a plurality of shake correction optical systems are provided. In an optical system such as binoculars, not only the individual blur correction systems but also the left and right correction systems can be adjusted at the same time.
[0203]
(Third embodiment)
Next, a third embodiment of the present invention will be described.
[0204]
In a shake correction device using a VAP unit controlled by a servo mechanism, the polarization of a light beam when a reference position holding signal is applied due to mechanical deterioration such as axial friction and element deformation due to temperature, change with time, and attitude difference. Has an offset to what is expected (initial state).
[0205]
Even if this is a level that does not pose a problem when used alone, when the two sets are used for binoculars, the deviation of the optical axis may cause discomfort to the observer.
[0206]
Therefore, in this embodiment, not only during calibration, but especially during the shake correction operation, when the left and right signals are clearly offset, correction is performed so that the left and right signals match. Is possible.
[0207]
In other words, during the IS operation, the apex sensor outputs of the left and right VAPs of the VAP with respect to the shake control signal are maintained with a certain displacement difference with respect to the shake control signal in a low frequency range where good followability is ensured. If it is, correct the offset by gradually changing it.
[0208]
Also in this embodiment, the configuration itself of the VAP control system is the same as that shown in FIGS.
[0209]
Next, processing executed by the microcomputer in this embodiment will be described with reference to the flowchart of FIG.
[0210]
The flow chart process of FIG. 16 can be executed during a normal shake correction operation, and step S300 indicates that the shake correction operation is being performed.
[0211]
In step S301, it is determined whether or not the offset adjustment is being performed based on the state of the offset adjustment flag. And migrate.
[0212]
In step S302, the VAP drive signal a for performing shake correction supplied from the
[0213]
In step S303, an offset adjustment flag is set, and in step S304, the offset adjustment is performed so that | a−b | becomes smaller. That is, the offset output is changed by a predetermined value so as to reduce the difference in the displacement amount (as will be described later, the offset output is corrected by a method using a dedicated adjustment mechanism and a VAP drive signal output from the microcomputer 20). There is a way to add offset).
[0214]
In step S305, it is checked whether the displacement difference between the VAP drive signal and the apex angle sensor signal is 0. If 0, the process proceeds to the next step S306, and if not 0, the process returns to step S300.
[0215]
In step S306, the offset adjustment flag is reset to complete the offset adjustment, and the process returns to step S300.
[0216]
In a shake correction device using a VAP unit controlled by a servo mechanism, the polarization of a light beam when a reference position holding signal is applied due to mechanical deterioration such as axial friction and element deformation due to temperature, change with time, and attitude difference. Has an offset to what is expected.
[0217]
Even if this is a level that does not pose a problem when used alone, when the two sets are used for binoculars, the deviation of the optical axis may cause discomfort to the observer.
[0218]
Therefore, in this embodiment, correction is performed so that the left and right signals match when the left and right signals are clearly offset during the shake correction operation as well as during the calibration. As a result, it is possible to perform good observation in which the left and right optical axes coincide. In particular, this offset adjustment is possible during normal camera shake correction operation, so that the calibration operation is not noticed, the operability is greatly improved, and there is no sense of incongruity in the image, so that accurate observation is always performed. Can do.
[0219]
(Fourth embodiment)
The fourth embodiment of the present invention will be described below. In the binoculars incorporating two sets of VAP units as shown in FIG. 14, the VAP units 302L and 302R are arranged symmetrically in terms of mechanical structure in terms of layout.
[0220]
That is, the left and right inertial forces are structurally different. Further, in the above-mentioned VAP unit, the output of the angular displacement detector with respect to the optical axis center position of the VAP is shifted due to the mounting error of the angular displacement detecting element, so that it is necessary to adjust the offset.
[0221]
Here, as an offset adjustment method, as described above, in the initial adjustment, adjustment is performed so that the light beam that has passed through the VAP becomes the optical center in a state in which the VAP center reference position holding signal is output from the microcomputer. This can also be realized by adding an offset to the VAP center reference position hold signal, but the adjustment range must be made large depending on the magnitude of the offset variation due to the element and mechanical structure, and consequently the dynamic range of the dynamic range. It will lead to a decline. A high-resolution D / A converter may be used, but this is expensive.
[0222]
Therefore, as shown in FIG. 2, a low-resolution D /
[0223]
That is, coarse adjustment is performed by an inexpensive low-resolution D / A converter, and fine adjustment is performed by using an offset of a shake control signal.
[0224]
Further, the
[0225]
As a means for measuring the optical polarization position signal of the VAP, there is a method of measuring the passing light of the VAP by a laser or the like with a PSD or the like.
[0226]
Next, the processing on the microcomputer in this embodiment will be described with reference to the flowchart of FIG.
[0227]
(Offset adjustment)
In step S401, the VAP optical center position signal d is compared with the VAP optical polarization position signal e (polarization displacement signal from the center position of vertically incident light). If the difference is zero, step S401 is performed. If not 0, proceed to step S406.
[0228]
In step S402, coarse adjustment is performed by an inexpensive low-resolution D / A converter. That is, a predetermined bias is applied to the value of the
[0229]
In step S403, if the difference between the VAP optical center position signal d and the VAP optical polarization position signal e is equal to or smaller than a predetermined value f, the process proceeds to step S404. Here, f is a value set as an adjustment limit value of the low resolution D / A converter.
[0230]
In step S404, fine adjustment is performed by adding an offset to the VAP control signal supplied from the
[0231]
In step S405, the VAP optical center position signal d and the VAP optical polarization position signal e (polarization displacement signal from the center position of vertically incident light) are compared, and if the difference | d−e | If YES in step S406, the offset adjustment operation is terminated. If NO in step 505, the flow returns to step S404. Step S406 means the end of the adjustment operation.
[0232]
Here, only uniaxial adjustment is described, but the binoculars shown in FIG. 14 require four-axis adjustment in combination of left and right, YAW, and PITCH.
[0233]
In a shake correction device using a VAP unit controlled by a servo mechanism, the polarization of a light beam when a reference position holding signal is applied due to mechanical deterioration such as axial friction and element deformation due to temperature, change with time, and attitude difference. Has an offset against what is expected. Although it is at a level that does not pose a problem when used alone, when two pairs are used for binoculars, the deviation of the optical axis can cause discomfort to the observer.
[0234]
Therefore, in the present embodiment, correction is performed so that the left and right signals coincide with each other when the left and right signals are clearly offset during calibration or during the shake correction operation. As a result, it is possible to perform good observation in which the left and right optical axes coincide.
[0238]
