【0001】
このような移動体通信システムで用いられる通信方式のひとつにCDMA(Code Division Multiple Access)がある。
【0003】

SIR計算部34ではフィンガ間全受信電力・RSSI合成部33の出力を用いて、数3によって干渉成分ISSI(Interference Signal Strength Indicator)を求める。
【0107】
ISSI=TOTAL_POWER−RSSI
【0108】
ISSIi=λ×ISSIi+(1−λ)×ISSIi−1
【0110】
SIR=RSSI/ISSIi

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
The present invention relates to a radio communication device and a power consumption control method of the radio communication device, and more particularly to a radio communication device of a CDMA mobile communication system that has a plurality of fingers and performs Rake reception and a power consumption control method thereof.
[0002]
[Prior art]
Recently, mobile communication systems such as mobile phones have become widespread. One of communication methods used in such a mobile communication system is CDMA (Code Division Multiple Access).
[0003]
In this CDMA, data is spread and transmitted using a different predetermined spreading code for each data to be transmitted on the transmitting side, and the same spreading code as the transmitting side is used on the receiving side. Data is obtained by spreading (so-called despreading) the received signal using a simple code. That is, in such CDMA communication, the signal transmitted from the transmission side can be reproduced by shifting the timing of despreading the signal received on the reception side and finding the peak of the correlation value.
[0004]
By the way, in the actual communication environment of a mobile communication system, when a signal from one base station reaches the mobile station, there are a plurality of paths such as direct waves and reflected waves. In CDMA, since each of such multipath signals can be separated and recognized as data, a finger for despreading each of the multipath signals is provided for each path. A Rake receiving unit for synthesizing these signals can be provided to provide a path diversity configuration.
[0005]
FIG. 24 is a block diagram of a demodulation circuit that performs demodulation by despreading of a mobile station in conventional CDMA.
[0006]
24, the demodulation circuit includes a delay profile calculation unit 11 that calculates a delay profile, a finger

The received signal received by the mobile station is first subjected to quadrature detection and demodulated. The quadrature detection output I component signal and Q component signal are respectively input to the delay profile calculation unit 11. The delay profile calculation unit 11 performs correlation calculation and creates a delay profile.
[0009]
The delay profile calculated and created by the delay profile calculation unit 11 is peak-searched by the finger
[0010]
As described above, in a demodulation circuit that performs demodulation by despreading of a mobile station in CDMA, a path to be assigned to each finger is determined based on a delay profile created by a delay profile calculator.
[0011]
FIG. 25 is a diagram for explaining an example of timing for performing delay profile calculation processing in a conventional demodulation circuit.
[0012]
FIG. 25 is a diagram showing a received signal, where hatched portions are pilot symbols, that is, known data portions, which will be described later, and other portions are information data symbol portions.
[0013]
As shown in FIG. 25, in the conventional demodulation circuit, a delay profile is calculated for each pilot symbol, for example, an average of N times is taken as a delay profile output from the delay profile calculator 11 shown in FIG. It was.
[0014]
[Problems to be solved by the invention]
By the way, the delay profile calculation should be performed when the mobile station moves or the effective reception path position changes. However, in the conventional demodulation circuit, as described above, the delay profile calculation is performed for every fixed period, and the effective reception path position is not necessarily different for each period.
[0015]
For this reason, in the conventional demodulation circuit, the delay profile calculation is performed until it is not necessary to calculate the delay profile, and extra power is consumed.
[0016]
Also, if the interval for performing delay profile calculation is simply widened to reduce power consumption, the delay profile calculation will not be performed even when the delay profile calculation should be performed because the effective reception path position has changed. There is a problem that a situation occurs and demodulation is not performed well.
[0017]
Increased power consumption is a major problem when downsizing and long-term use of communication terminals are desired like current mobile phone terminals, reducing power consumption while maintaining good reception characteristics Realization of a mobile phone terminal that can be used is desired.
[0018]
The present invention has been made in view of the above points, and provides a radio communication apparatus and a power consumption control method for a radio communication apparatus that perform finger path allocation processing while reducing reception power while maintaining good reception quality. For the purpose.
[0019]
[Means for Solving the Problems]
In order to achieve the above object, the present invention provides a delay profile calculation unit that calculates a delay profile using a received signal in a wireless communication apparatus of a CDMA communication system that has a plurality of fingers and performs Rake reception, and the delay A finger path assignment unit that assigns a path position to the plurality of fingers based on a delay profile calculated by a profile calculation unit; The number of times the delay profile is calculated within a certain periodIt is characterized by being variable.

In FIG. 9, the process waits without doing anything until a predetermined time elapses in step (B-2). However, the present invention is not limited to this. For example, the elapse of the predetermined time elapses in step (B-2). If not, the process following step (A-1) shown in FIG. 8 may be performed to determine whether to execute or stop the delay profile calculation process based on the latest reception characteristics.
