【発明の属する技術分野】
本発明は、屋外または屋内の通路等を木材資源によって舗装するようにした木質舗装に係るものであり、さらに詳しくは、舗装面下における水の浸透、排水能力を向上するように構成した木塊ブロック舗装の施工方法に関するものである。

【従来の技術】
近年、高齢者施設や医療施設、公園、幼稚園、歩道等の路面や床面の舗装方法として、環境に優しく、都市部でのヒートアイランド現象を抑制可能で、しかも天然の味わいと足への感触性に優れた特性を有し、自然との共生という新しいテーマにも合致した木質舗装が採用されるようになった。

上記した木質舗装の施工方法としては、下地コンクリート上に透水性保形部材付き木製タイルブロックを施工するようにした特開平8−252810号公報や、セメントと砂を混合して硬化した結合層上に、多数の木製ブロック板を敷き詰めた構造の特開平10−8690号公報などが提案されており、また特開平11−343602号公報において、木質系廃材を粉砕して木質繊維層を形成し、その木質繊維層を地面に敷設するようにした舗装層の形成方法が開示されている。

【発明が解決しようとする課題】
しかしながら上述した特開平8−252810号や特開平10−8690号などに示された技術は、雨水を地下に浸透させたり、排水する能力が弱いので、木製タイルブロックや木製ブロック板が腐食し易いという問題点があり、また特開平11−343602号の技術は、通水性や耐候性に優れているという利点はあるが、自然木をそのまま利用するものではないので、視覚的な面で木質舗装の長所を発揮することができないという欠点があった。

そこで、雨水の地下への浸透や排水能力を向上させ、且つ自然本来の水の循環と土中の水の涵養に寄与するように構成するとともに、視覚的にも優れた形態の木塊ブロック舗装の施工方法の開発が要請されていた。

【課題を解決するための手段】
本発明は、間伐材を用いて形成した単位木塊ブロック2の多数個が、下部の通気を可能とする隙間を存してそれぞれ基材3の上面に配設され、且つその基材3上の所定輪郭内に一塊状に集合された形状の複数組の木塊ブロックユニット1,1,・・を形成する工程と、その木塊ブロックユニット1,1,・・を、透水性舖装7の上面に敷設する工程とを有する木塊ブロック舗装の施工方法である。

【発明の実施の形態】
間伐材や建設現場から排出される支障材などを、木質舗装の材料として活用することで林業の活性化を図り、さらには地方振興に寄与することが期待されているが、本発明においても、そのような間伐材を用いるようにした木塊ブロック舖装の施工方法を提案するものである。

本発明は、上記した間伐材を用いて単位木塊ブロック2を多数形成し、舗装予定地の路盤8上に施された透水性舗装7の上面に、接着剤6を介してその単位木塊ブロック2を順次敷設するようにするものである。この際に、単位木塊ブロック2を個別に取り扱うのでは施工性が悪いので、網状に形成した基材3上の所定輪郭内に単位木塊ブロック2,2,・・を一塊状に集合させて、複数組の木塊ブロックユニット1,1,・・を形成し、その各木塊ブロックユニット1を順次敷設するようにする。そして上記した接着剤6が硬化する前にローラーで転圧することにより、舗装路表面に平坦性を付与するようにする。

【実施例】
本発明の一実施例を図面に基づいて説明するが、図1,図2は、本発明で使用する木塊ブロックユニットおよび単位木塊ブロックを示すものであり、図3は、本発明の施工方法を示すものである。

図1に示す木塊ブロックユニット1は、図2に示す単位木塊ブロック2の多数個と、網状に形成された基材3とから構成されたものであるが、その単位木塊ブロック2と基材3のそれぞれについて、以下に詳細に説明する。

本実施例における単位木塊ブロック2は、図示のように、その平面形状が正方形の比較的小型の方形体に形成されるもので、縦×横×高さの寸法は、それぞれ10cm×10cm×5cmとなっている。この単位木塊ブロック2を屋外で使用する場合には、防腐・防虫処理を必須とするが、この防腐・防虫処理は長期的効果が望まれる方式とするとともに、自然や人体に対して無害な薬品を採用するものとする。さらに単位木塊ブロック2を形成する自然木の種類としては、防腐・防虫処理を施せばどのような種類のものでも使用可能ではあるが、比較的安価なカラマツやアカマツなどを使用するのが好適である。なお施工対象箇所の条件や顧客のニーズ等が様々であるので、その施工対象に応じて木の種類を選択するようにすればさらによい。

また図示した単位木塊ブロック2の上面側の角位置には、表面の水を排水するための面取り部4が設けられているが、上面側の角位置のみでなく、縦面側の角位置にも面取り部4を設けるようにすれば、単位木塊ブロック2の下部空間の換気も可能となる。さらにまた図2における拡大部分は、木塊ブロックユニット1を透水性舖装面上に敷設する工程で使用する接着剤6が、単位木塊ブロック2の底面全体に塗布されている状態を示すものである。この場合の接着剤6は、耐候性に富み、且つ自然に優しい木レンガ用接着剤などを使用するようにするとよい。

さらに基材3は、網状や孔開き状に形成されたものであり、主として製品としての金網が使用されるものである。そして本発明では、図1に示すように、単位木塊ブロック2,2,・・を、正方形や長方形等といった所定輪郭形状の中に一塊状に集合させ、それらを上記した基材3に固定させることにより、木塊ブロックユニット1を形成するようになっている。なおこの場合の固定手段は特に限定するものではなく、公知のあらゆる手段の採用が可能であり、また上述したような木塊ブロックユニット1,1,・・の輪郭形状は、すべて同一状に設けられるものではなく、施工現場の状況等に合わせて適宜に調節されるものとする。

さらにまた各単位木塊ブロック2を基材3に固定する場合に、それぞれの単位木塊ブロック2を基材3の上面に独立状に配設し、単位木塊ブロック2の相互間に僅かな隙間5を設けるか、または縦面側の角位置に面取り部4を設けて、下部の通気が良好になるようにするものとする。また単位木塊ブロック2の集合体の底面積(すなわち所定輪郭面積)と基材3の面積をほぼ同一にして、両者を完全に合致させた形態で固定してもよいが、図1のように両者の位置をややずらして固定したり、基材3の面積を所定輪郭面積よりもやや大きく形成したり、あるいは基材3の面積を所定輪郭面積よりもやや小さく形成したりして、図3に示すように、基材3の余剰突出部分と隣接するユニット端部の単位木塊ブロック2とを連結するように施工すれば、施工後の強度を向上させることができる。また単位木塊ブロック2を並べる場合に、年輪や木目を表面側に設定した状態にして並べれば、観者に視覚的な好印象を与えることができるとともに、滑り止め効果も期待することができる。

次に、図3に基づいて本発明の木塊ブロック舗装の施工方法を説明する。本発明は、透水性舗装7が施工された路面上に、前述した木塊ブロックユニット1,1,・・を順次敷設するものであるが、各木塊ブロックユニット1を敷設する前に、単位木塊ブロック2,2,・・の底面全体に前述した接着剤6を厚く塗布し、その接着剤6を介して透水性舗装7に固定されるようになっている。そして接着剤6が硬化する前に、敷設後の舖装面上をローラーで慎重に転圧するようにすれば、施工面を均一な平坦状に設けることができる。

【発明の効果】
本発明の木塊ブロック舗装の施工方法は、透水性舗装面上に木塊ブロックを敷設し、且つ単位木塊ブロックの相互間に隙間を設けるように構成してあるので、雨水の地下への浸透や排水および木塊ブロック下部への通気が良好であり、また各単位木塊ブロックに防腐・防虫処理が施してあるので、施工後の木塊ブロックが腐食したり、破損したりする恐れがなく、舗装路面を長期的に維持することができるという特筆すべき効果があり、併せて自然本来の水の循環と土中の水の涵養にも寄与することができるという利点がある。さらに本発明は、単位木塊ブロックを間伐材によって形成するので、簡易かつ低コストな施工方法を提供することができるとともに、木材資源の有効活用による経済効果が期待できるので、地方振興に大いに貢献することができるという多大な長所がある。なおまた本発明では自然や人体に無害な素材が選択されているので、環境にやさしく、且つ耐候性に優れた製品を提供することができ、さらには自然木の年輪や木目を表面側に設定して並べるように配慮してあるので、観者に視覚的な好印象を与えることができるばかりでなく、足への感触性や滑り止め効果も発揮することができるという特長がある。
