本発明は、デジタルカメラに関し、特に、WWWサーバ及びLANコントローラを内蔵するデジタルカメラ及びその設定方法に関する。

【従来の技術】
近年、デジタルカメラの通信機能を利用して、デジタルカメラで撮影した画像データを遠隔地にあるパーソナルコンピュータ(以下、「PC」という)に送信する技術が開発されている。特開平10−243153号公報では、撮影した画像データを遠隔地にあるPCに送信する場合に、電子メールに画像データを添付して送信するデジタルカメラが記載されている。

【発明が解決しようとする課題】
しかしながら、上述のデジタルカメラにおいては、遠隔地にあるPCに画像データを送信する場合、送信先であるPCのメールアドレスを指定する必要がある。したがって、デジタルカメラ内部にメールアドレスを指定可能な機能を設けなければならない。このため、デジタルカメラの構造が複雑になり、装置の小型化あるいは軽量化を図ることができないという問題がある。

本発明は、かかる点に鑑みてなされたものであり、構造を複雑にすることなく、撮影した画像データを電子メールに添付してPCに送信することができるデジタルカメラ及びその設定方法を提供することを目的とする。

【課題を解決するための手段】
本発明は、コンピュータネットワークとの接続情報及び電子メールのアドレス情報を設定するための構造化文書をクライアントの要求に応じて送信し、そのクライアントから受信した接続情報及びアドレス情報とその設定要求を接続情報設定手段及びアドレス情報変更手段に受け渡し、記録手段に記録された接続情報及びアドレス情報を設定するようにしたものである。

【発明の実施の形態】
本発明の第1の態様に係るデジタルカメラは、画像を撮影してデジタル画像データを得るデジタル画像撮影手段と、コンピュータネットワークとの接続情報並びにホームページデータを記憶する記憶手段と、前記コンピュータネットワークのクライアント端末からの接続により本装置のホームページメイン画面を送信し、ホームページメイン画面から前記接続情報の設定メニューがクライアント端末により選択されたとき前記接続情報の設定入力用のホームページデータを前記クライアント端末に送信し、前記接続情報の設定入力用のホームページに入力された設定内容をクライアント端末より受信するWWWサーバ手段と、前記WWWサーバ手段が受信した前記接続情報の内容で前記設定入力用のホームページデータを更新するHTMLファイル生成手段と、前記WWWサーバ手段が受信した前記接続情報の内容で前記記憶手段内の接続情報を設定する接続情報設定手段と、を具備する構成を採る。

次に、上述した本デジタルカメラ100のネットワーク接続設定動作のフローについて、図2に示すフロー図にしたがって説明する。ここで、本デジタルカメラ100は、LAN制御部104によりイーサネット等のLAN104Aに接続されているものとし、LAN104Aを介して外部ネットワーク117に接続されているものとする。また、本デジタルカメラ100は、IPアドレスが設定されているものとする。これにより、本デジタルカメラ100は、LAN104Aおよび外部ネットワーク117に対してサーバ機能を提供することができるようになっている。
