Description
【0001】

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
The present invention relates to a direct injection internal combustion engine that is a spark ignition type and that directly injects fuel into a combustion chamber.
[0002]
[Prior art]
2. Description of the Related Art Conventionally, fuel injection devices (injectors) have been widely used in fuel supply systems of gasoline engines that mainly use gasoline as a fuel among internal combustion engines. In such a gasoline engine, the operation of the injector is controlled by a control unit such as a controller, and a predetermined amount of fuel is injected into the intake port at a predetermined timing.
[0003]
The fuel injected into the intake port is supplied into the combustion chamber together with the air sucked in the intake stroke, mixed with the air, ignited by the spark plug, and burned.
On the other hand, in a diesel engine that mainly uses light oil or the like as fuel, fuel is directly injected into the combustion chamber, and this fuel is spontaneously ignited by compressed air in the combustion chamber.
[0004]
By the way, in the gasoline engine as described above, a cylinder injection type internal combustion engine has been proposed in which fuel is directly injected into the combustion chamber to improve the responsiveness of the engine.
In such an in-cylinder injection type internal combustion engine, a vortex is formed in the cylinder, fuel is injected into the vortex, and an air-fuel mixture layer having a required concentration (fuel concentration in the vicinity of the theoretical air-fuel ratio) according to the position of the spark plug. And the fuel in the air-fuel mixture is supplied to the spark plug, so that combustion in a state where the fuel concentration is extremely low (the air-fuel ratio is high) as a whole, so-called stratified lean combustion operation can be performed.
[0005]
[Problems to be solved by the invention]
By the way, in such a cylinder injection type internal combustion engine, the intake air in the combustion chamber is cooled by the fuel injected into the cylinder, so that knocking can be suppressed, and as a result, the compression ratio can be easily increased. is there.
Therefore, in the cylinder injection type internal combustion engine, it is important to design the shape of the combustion chamber formed by the piston, the lower surface of the cylinder head, etc. so as to take advantage of this advantage.
[0006]
However, if the shape of the combustion chamber becomes complicated, the engine output characteristics and fuel consumption performance will change greatly even if the design and shape of the piston and the combustion chamber, the placement position of the spark plug, etc. are slightly changed. There is a problem.
Therefore, there is a demand for setting the shape of the combustion chamber of the direct injection internal combustion engine and the relative positional relationship between the components of the combustion chamber so that the combustion efficiency is optimal.
[0007]
Japanese Patent Laid-Open No. 4-228850 discloses a technique in which the fuel injected from the fuel injection valve does not hit the inner wall of the cylinder. However, such a technique focuses only on the direction of fuel injection from the fuel injection valve, and does not solve the above-described problem.
Japanese Patent Laid-Open No. 4-58030 discloses a technique for suppressing the occurrence of self-ignition, knocking and smoke in a cylinder injection type internal combustion engine. However, such a technique is merely for smoothly operating the engine, and again, does not solve the above-described problems.
[0008]
Japanese Laid-Open Patent Publication No. 4-166612 discloses a technique for improving the ignitability during low load operation of a direct injection internal combustion engine. Thus, it does not form a combustion chamber or a piston, or restrict the position of the spark plug.
Further, in the technology as described above, a concave portion is formed on the piston to form a combustion chamber, but a large space is also formed between the top surface of the piston and the bottom surface of the cylinder head. In such a combustion chamber shape, there is a problem that a sufficient compression ratio cannot be obtained and it is difficult to increase the output.
[0009]
The present invention was devised to meet such demands and problems, and the combustion efficiency of the in-cylinder internal combustion engine and the relative positional relationship between the components of the combustion chamber are such that the combustion efficiency is optimal. An object of the present invention is to provide an in-cylinder injection type internal combustion engine which is set to be able to achieve both improved fuel efficiency and improved output.
[0010]
[Means for Solving the Problems]
In the in-cylinder internal combustion engine of the first aspect of the present invention, the lower surface of the cylinder head is formed in a pent roof shape, the ignition plug is disposed near the top of the upper surface of the combustion chamber of the pent roof shape, and the lower surface of the combustion chamber is The top surface of the piston to be formed is formed in a mountain shape that substantially conforms to the pent roof shape. A recess is provided at least on the intake valve side inclined upper surface of the piston top surface, and of the combustion chamber volume when the piston is at the top dead center position, the volume in the recess and the upper surface of the piston above the recess and the lower surface of the cylinder head The ratio of the volume between the two and the total volume of the combustion chamber when the piston is at the top dead center position is set between 0.4 and 0.6. And by comprising in this way, each volume ratio in a combustion chamber can be optimized, and high fuel consumption and high output can be made compatible.
[0014]
Also, ConcaveBy forming the portion with a spherical surface, the surface area of the recess relative to the volume of the recess of the piston is minimized. Further, the formation of a vortex flow by the intake air flow, that is, the tumble flow in the combustion chamber is promoted.
Also, ConcaveThe part is shaped as a part of a virtual spherical surface centered on the intake valve side upper part of the pistonCompleteThe spark plug can be easily disposed in the recess. The
[0015]
AlsoTheThe fuel injection valve injection port and the intake valve valve body are respectively included in the virtual spherical surface and the ignition point of the discharge electrode of the spark plug is included in the recess at the top dead center position of the stone. Thus, an air-fuel mixture having a high fuel concentration can be generated in the recess.

【The invention's effect】
As described above in detail, according to the in-cylinder injection internal combustion engine of the first aspect of the present invention, the combustion chamber that is vertically divided by the lower surface of the cylinder head and the top surface of the piston, and the upper surface of the combustion chamber An intake valve disposed on one side of the combustion chamber, an exhaust valve disposed on the other side of the upper surface of the combustion chamber, and a fuel injection valve disposed to inject fuel directly into the combustion chamber. In the cylinder injection internal combustion engine, the lower surface of the cylinder head forming the upper surface of the combustion chamber includes an inclined lower surface on the intake valve side formed on the one side and an inclined lower surface on the exhaust valve side formed on the other side. And a spark plug is disposed in the vicinity of the top of the upper surface of the combustion chamber of the pent roof shape, and the top surface of the piston forming the lower surface of the combustion chamber is formed on the inclined lower surface of the intake valve side and Formed to correspond to the exhaust valve side inclined lower surface respectively It is formed in a mountain shape substantially conforming to the pent roof shape having an air valve side inclined upper surface and an exhaust valve side inclined upper surface, and a recess is provided at least on the intake valve side inclined upper surface of the piston, and the piston Of the combustion chamber volume when in position, the volume in the recess, the volume between the upper surface of the piston above the recess and the lower surface of the cylinder head, and the combustion when the piston is at the top dead center position With the configuration in which the ratio with respect to the total volume of the chamber is set between 0.4 and 0.6, the concave volume relative to the total volume can be set to be suitable for performing stratified combustion, and the combustion chamber Increase in surface area can be avoided as much as possible. As a result, the fuel efficiency is improved and the maximum output and the maximum torque are improved by avoiding an increase in heat loss, so that both the engine output performance and the fuel efficiency performance in the direct injection internal combustion engine can be achieved. is there.
[0093]
AlsoTheWith the configuration in which the concave portion is formed of a spherical surface, the surface area of the concave portion with respect to the volume of the concave portion of the piston can be minimized. This also has the advantage that heat loss can be reduced and combustion efficiency can be improved. Furthermore, by forming the concave portion in a spherical shape, there is an advantage that the formation of a vortex flow by the intake air flow, that is, the tumble flow in the combustion chamber is promoted, and the stratified combustion is facilitated.
[0094]
AlsoTheA recess is formed as part of a virtual spherical surface centered on the intake valve side upper part of the piston.BeThis configuration has the advantage that the spark plug can be easily disposed in the recess. There is also an advantage that generation of a tumble flow can be promoted.
[0095]
AlsoTheWhen the piston is at the top dead center position, the injection port of the fuel injection valve and the valve body of the intake valve are respectively included in the virtual spherical surface, and the ignition point of the discharge electrode of the spark plug is included in the recess. Therefore, there is an advantage that an air-fuel mixture having a high fuel concentration can be generated in the recess. And there exists an advantage that combustion efficiency can be raised by this.
