Description

【0001】

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
The present invention relates to a pen input type computer.
[0002]
[Prior art]
Currently, in the field of computers, especially personal computers, the liquid crystal display unit and keyboard unit are connected by hinge means according to the market needs for improving portability, and when carrying, the liquid crystal display unit and keyboard part are folded around the hinge means. Therefore, so-called notebook computers that can be carried as A4 size or smaller are increasing.
[0003]
In order to meet the market needs for further miniaturization and improved operability, a transparent tablet or digitizer is arranged on the liquid crystal display, making it possible to perform various inputs with a pen, and key input as in the past Computers that have become unnecessary have also appeared.
[0004]
Even in this type of pen input type computer, although the input operation is simplified, the function itself is required to have the same performance as that of the conventional computer. In particular, the so-called suspend / resume function, which maintains the operating state immediately before turning off even when the power is turned off, and returns to the operating state immediately before turning off the power, is a low power consumption in a portable computer. It is important.
[0005]
[Problems to be solved by the invention]
An example of a pen input type computer provided with the suspend / resume function is described in, for example, Japanese Patent Laid-Open No. 5-303452 (G06F1 / 26). In the pen input type computer described in this publication, when the pen is housed in the pen holder, the user assumes that the use of the computer has been suspended and enters the suspend state. It is configured to resume when removed.
[0006]
However, in actual use, when the user inserts the pen into the pen holder, the user does not always stop using the computer, but may simply need no input.
[0007]
By the way, when pen input becomes unnecessary in this way, it is possible to prevent the pen from being lost when the pen is not used by returning the pen to the pen holder, but when the pen is stored and mounted in the pen holder as in the above publication If it becomes suspended, the pen cannot be returned to the pen holder.
[0008]
[Means for Solving the Problems]
The present invention has been made in view of such problems, and its feature is a pen input type computer that controls suspend / resume based on ON of a switch disposed in a pen holder in which a pen can be attached and detached. When the pen is mounted on the pen holder, the first and second protrusions are provided that are elastically supported at a position protruding into the pen insertion portion of the pen holder and the protrusion is immersed by an external force against the elastic force. The pen is provided with a convex portion for immersing each of the first and second protrusions, and a concave portion with which the first and second protrusions are engaged by protruding return after the immersion, The switch is disposed at a position where the switch is turned on by detecting immersion, and the first and second protrusions are arranged so that the second protrusion is not immersed when the first protrusion is engaged with the recess. The convex part is There is to be set.
[0009]
DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION
FIG. 1 shows an embodiment of the present invention. A main body 1 of a pen input type computer is formed with a pen holder 2 extending inward of the main body 1 from an opening formed on one side wall thereof. In the pen holder 2, first and second holding portions 4 and 5 for holding the inserted pen 3 are formed. The first holding unit 4 cuts and raises one side wall that defines the space of the pen holder 2, and a first protrusion 41 that protrudes inward of the pen holder 2 is formed at the tip of the first holding unit 4 and is always elastic to the inside of the pen holder 2. Have The second holding portion 5 cuts and raises the bottom surface that defines the space of the pen holder 2, and a second protrusion 51 that protrudes inward of the pen holder 2 is formed at the tip of the second holding portion 5, and elastic force inwardly of the pen holder 2 is constantly generated. Have. Further, the positional relationship between the first and second protrusions 41 and 51 is such that the second protrusion 51 is located inside the pen holder 2 from the first protrusion 41. Further, a switch 6 is disposed below the second protrusion 51. The switch 6 is turned on when the pen 3 is completely installed in the pen holder 2 as will be apparent from the following description.
[0010]
The pen 3 includes a thin columnar tip portion 31 and a thick columnar grip portion 32, and an annular recess 33 is formed in the vicinity of the tip portion 31 of the grip portion 32. The tip portion 31 has such a thin thickness that it does not come into contact with any of the first and second protrusions 41 and 51 when the pen 3 is inserted into the pen holder 2, while the gripping portion 32 is When the pen 3 is inserted into the pen holder 2, the pen 3 has a thickness sufficient to resist the elastic force of the first and second protrusions 41 and 51. The thickness of the annular recess 33 is approximately the same as that of the tip 31.
[0011]
Next, attachment of the pen 3 to the pen holder 2 in the present embodiment will be described.
[0012]
First, as shown in FIG. 1A, when the pen 3 is inserted into the pen holder 2 from the tip portion 31 thereof, the first protrusion 41 of the first holding portion 4 is engaged with the annular recess 33 of the pen 3. This prevents the pen 3 from coming off the pen holder 2. Further, when the pen 3 is pushed into the pen holder 2, the engagement between the first holding portion 4 and the first protrusion 41 is released, and as shown in FIG. And the 2nd protrusion 51 is pushed below by the boundary part 34 which has a thickness comparable as the holding part 32, and the switch 6 located under this 2nd protrusion 51 is set to ON. When the pen 3 is further pushed into the pen holder 2, the pressing of the second protrusion 51 by the boundary portion 34 is released, and the leading edge of the pen 3 comes into contact with the deepest wall surface of the pen holder 2 as shown in FIG. The pen 3 cannot be pushed any further. At this time, since the second protrusion 51 is engaged with the annular recess 33, the pen 3 is prevented from coming off from the pen holder 2 in this case as well.
[0013]
As can be seen from FIG. 1, the attachment / detachment of the pen 3 between the protrusions 41 and 51 and the annular recess 33 is performed so that the engagement and release of the protrusions 41 and 51 and the annular recess 33 can be performed with a slight force. A curved taper is applied to the surface orthogonal to the direction.
[0014]
Thus, in the present embodiment, there are two positions where the pen 3 is held in the pen holder 2 in the extending direction, and the second holding is formed by the second protrusion 51 existing in the vicinity of the deepest wall surface of the pen holder 2. When the pen 3 is held at the position, the switch 6 is turned on. Accordingly, the switch 6 is used as a suspend / resume switch, and the computer is suspended when the pen 3 is momentarily turned on and held at the second holding position, while the suspend state is established. The pen 3 is pulled out from the pen holder 2 and can be resumed on condition that the switch 6 is instantaneously turned on with the release of the holding of the pen 3 at the second holding position. Further, when the pen 3 is inserted into and mounted on the pen holder 2, the switch 6 does not operate only by holding the pen 3 in the second holding position formed by the first protrusion 41 located on the opening side of the pen holder 2, so that the suspended state is not obtained. However, since the pen 3 is held in the pen holder 2, it will not be lost.
[0015]
【The invention's effect】
As is clear from the above description, according to the present invention, even when the pen of the pen input type computer is stored in the pen holder, it is possible to store the computer without suspending the pen. You can prevent the pen from being lost at the same time, improving usability.
